- Lanzarote Island in the Canaries. The island of 100 volcanoes and many wonderful people. I explore part of the island and meet a fellow Swiss for cheese fondue on his Joshua sailboat as well as a former Parisian who’s been on the island ever he since he sailed here 30 years ago. My home is at Marina Lanzarote in the capital city of Arrecife where my brother Stephane joins me and we stumble on yet another local festival.

awesome video Alex. I was away from youtube for 2 weeks as i was visiting in British Columbia about 3,000 km from my home lol. I was visiting my aunt and cousins. So now I am trying to catch up on all the videos :)

I noticed your anchor-swivel is connected directly to your anchor. That's not recommended, for good reason. If your boat turns on its anchor the swivel has to deal with sideways loads it's not designed to deal with. Add 4 links of chain between anchor and swivel and your good. Those 4 links could save your boat.
We were just testing the model and I'm aware that the swivel is not ideal as it is. I'll take care of that once we've got the bow-sprit installed. Thanks for the recommendation.

Mon but fut de larguer les amarres et découvrir le monde en voilier. Je pensait just passé les Canaries et suit tombé sous le charme. Et je voulais apprendre l'espagnole. Une fois que j'ai bien visité toutes ces iles merveilleuse, je vais Est... Africa!!!
About the anchor why didn't you just put two U shaped brackets over the top just above the anchor arm to keep it from rising up?
Wis it was that simple. The anchor arm is much longer than the old anchor and is much heavier. The tricky bit is when it goes up and down. We've almost got it sorted.
how did he do it with the address?
Registering a sailboat and then not having an address.
And that in Switzerland?
He needs an address for his vehicle and letters or whatever he could get in the mail.

Yes, us Swiss have the right to have a special homeless status. It's officially called a Globetrotter status for people like us. I use my brother's address for official use. A Swiss perk I suppose.
