I'm going to post up a craigslist wanted ad for cheap old gokarts and parts. You can always find better deals when you get people to search for you, rather than searching through posts of people asking top dollar for their junk. Someone always knows someone with a junkpile with what you're looking for.

The only issue with that tiny engine is getting it off of the clutch. Once the centrifugal clutch is fully engaged, it rips up to speed, but there is not enough torque being transferred through it when it is slipping. Maybe you should look into a smaller drive sprocket to put on the clutch... Or maybe a better clutch.

I am in a personal project to build a stand up scooter (the one like a kick scooter, no sit), and I am planing to use a 2.5hp engine (~100cc, 3.5nm@3600rpm) 4 stroke. Actually everything can change according to your answer as I will start this project from scratch =) but the idea is to have everything compact as possible (scooter's length ~115 centimetres) . I am aiming to reach ~25km/h (not too fast, the main idea is to keep this speed in ~25 degrees hills as well), the wheels with 8 inches (40cm external diameter), structure ~30kg (all include, engine and structure itself), and 100kg of man body. So, main doubts are: 1) Is it possible to use only a centrifugal clutch directly to the wheel (11 to 44 tooth) or do I have to make some transmission between to get more torque? 2) How to know about it, calculate? 3) Recommended iron thickness (cylindrical or squared as well)? 4) Belt or iron chain? Sorry for my those dumb questions if so... I know nothing about it... I really appreciate your help and let me know if you need any other detail. Thank you in advance! Cheers!

Sandiso Mahlangu well it was the obvious choice. he did what my mum would call "have a boys look" instead of looking properly. my mum would say that when everyone else would ask her where everything is. she would get soo pissed off lol. but seriously a dirtbike engine is powerfull, compact and has a gearbox. he didnt do his homework

If you look at any of our race karts, you'll see that the design is completely different. Race karts are very, very low to the ground and often have the engine next to the driver. You're much better off just buying a race kart.

The only new karts I can find are ones with racing decals that look like Nascars. I just want a rugged old one like yours. Thanks for replying!
its not fair to nature to rip on grasses roots im not one of those tree people but im 100% sure that plants are alive as well yall need a dirt track or racing street track grass really inst the best idea anyway considering all those roots that fly up and could get caught on something important
impossible cars have more hook ups plus its to much waight it would make where ever the engine is mounted to low and heavy it would scrape and.it would go to fast for some go kart bodys to handle it would fall apart

Weigh each driver and add weights to the kart accounting for balance accordingly and then you'll see who the better driver really is.

So for my 17th birthday my father just got me a go kart with a predator 212 cc and it goes 37 mph and its just too much fun man
