I think this show epitomises what most U.S. weddings are about. Opinionated entourages, old-fashioned dresses, plus here a particularly grumpy senior consultant with a fashion sense stuck in the 1960's, no one having a clue about what chic really means, and mothers (of bride or groom) that put way too much weight on the opinion of others. When my daughter got married, I went dress shopping all by myself. Ended up with a blush pink shimmering number (short hem) by french fashion house Daniel Hechter. Only showed it to my husband and my daughter after I actually bought it, and they liked it. No big deal, no fuss, no drama.
YES , i agree. The concept that I would need the approval of multiple other people to decide on a special outfit is ridiculous. And I too thought the plethora of very old fashioned "frocks" was horrible. It did have a 1950s vibe. Very outdated and not elegant. Staff very lacking in 2023 style and lacked empathy towards others.
I found my three dresses alone without help as did my mother . Approval was not sought from anyone . People are so self absorbed .
I was the same. I chose my own peach-coloured chiffon dress. It was bought from Fortnum and Mason in London. It was so unusual.
It can be all hand-beaded all you want, those dresses are ugly.
All of them.
That's why I love this show. And bc the staff is soooo arrogant. Love it

This program does a great service for women. It proves that taking family and friends with you to tell you what you should wear to a special event is a VERY BAD IDEA! Ladies, have faith in your own choices, if you feel good in something and feel it flatters you, then go with that.
I was with my best friend and her mother choosing her bridal gown . I was an admiring bystander and listener . My opinions were not given . We are adults .
I would never let anyone else choose clothes for me. I know what I like, and what feels good on me.

Why is the bride/families dressing the mother? It's bizarre.
Never go to hairstylist if she is wearing horrible hairstyle ,never go to make up artist if u see she has strange make up on , never go to fashion stylist if u see her in very strange old fashion clothes..its projecting what they ll choose for u...🤦♀️

I cannot understand why the so called friends can be so cruel. The poor bride is totally forgotten also there is no mention of price.
UK senior here - the dresses are age appropriate. The families need to understand this, also the mothers need to feel confident and confident in their dresses so lets just cut out the overshadowing of the bride nonsense/crap and be kind. The sweetl adies who run round these oh so precious brides need praise and thanks. Strangely , there seems to be no colour coodernation with other colours to be worn by the other principals at the weddings.. ' I've just vomited in my mouth.' Is a crude,rude and disgusting thing to say.

My mom and her two best friends wore beautiful wide brimmed hats to the wedding. These ladies had been friends since I was a baby. They got the hats then figured out the dresses. One of my aunties was on the other side of the country so it was tricky to coordinate but their tastes were similar enough.
