If anybody wants to know, the song is called Here It Comes (or Fantastic Glory sometimes), by The Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra. It's on the album "Monster Moves: Songs & Sounds" which can be listened to for free on a few sites.
Makes a change!.. Bringing Christianity to the people instead of turning people to Christianity! Nice vid. I pray its still standing with all that journey!
The church in which my parents were married looks EXACTLY like this one, and has just been moved from Erwin, South Dakota to De Smet, to be a part of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Homestead. I love this video.
awesome video! With a mustard grain of... um... tractor, the faithful can move a... um... church. Seeing it move down the road is quite breathtaking and surreal.
Originaly this architectural style of Church came all the way from London England; the first famous such Church is St. Martins In The Field Church, Trafalgar Square, London WC2. . St Martin-in-the-Fields is an Anglican church at the northeast corner of Trafalgar Square in the City of Westminster, London. Its patron is Saint Martin of Tours. . It is contempraneous with the establishment of the original colonies, in the nowadays United Sates. . Come to London and check it out !
There is something beautifully absurd about watching a church trundle along a road. Excellent TV series, excellent music too. Personally I think 'Touch the Stars' is better music for the speeded up sequences. Thanks Mr P
Maybe you get to see a huge building in front of your house every day, but I guess there are 140,000+ people who don't. So what's the problem? (No answer required, btw.) OMG, I cant believe they would allow a church on youtube! (Sarcasm, fyi) Awesome vid. :) 5 stars
Thanks for sharing ma dear Nom ! ;-) AWESOME video ! Hahahaha Strange, weird, but fantastic ! You háve to live in the USA to see this ! Hahahaha :o) Annet
Didn't you have any power lines to deal with? Or did they take them all down ahead of time? When we moved a church, we had to remove the tower to deal with the cost of the power lines. Cool any way! Movers from KS
Man, that's such a strange bit of footage! I love it! and the music is GREAT! like somthing the beatles might have done (if they were truckers) * * * * * stars. looks like an Eric Idle animation, except it really happened! WOW!
well, this is nothing compared to the old gothic church in the old town of Most...due to coal mine opening, they had to move a real architectonic jewel (unofrtunately could not move the whole city...) really worth watching any documentary on that topic...
It's pretty annoying that people bring a religious argument into a piece that's probably one of the most remarkable and well-made films on TH-cam. I'm not Christian, but this is off the scale
Great video. And the song is really nice too. :) When the church is emerging from behind the hill it looks like it's sneaking. Like in a Monty Python cartoon. :P
@Basch3000 - you and this video arrived at YT in 2007. However, that's where the similarity ends. You are tedious and depressing, while this video is full of fun and win.
how jaded some of us must not to appreciate a feat like this when it has something to do with *gasp* christianity?! get over it dudes - this move was amazing.
Why go to all the trouble. All they had to do was to ask Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson, Billy Graham, Paul Crouch. George Bush, etc. etc. to ask god to move it!
I don't see where this video or my comment have anything to do with killing someone. And if you're referring to what some "Christians" have done in the past, then that argument is moot because they don't speak for me or my faith. You're right, their actions were not rooted in Christianity, and never will be.
@nameofthepen Oh, offcourse! In 2007 mankind was not advanced enough to produce any better sound quality than this. Stupid of me. This video is great, indeed. But this quality is absolutely terrible.
This is one of my favorite videos of this 100 year old church. The song is great and the choir were wonderful. Beautiful voices.
The music was so moving!!! It seemed exactly fitting for a church on the go.
If anybody wants to know, the song is called Here It Comes (or Fantastic Glory sometimes), by The Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra. It's on the album "Monster Moves: Songs & Sounds" which can be listened to for free on a few sites.
My music teacher is one of the singers
I really like it! Great song - great video!
Been moving for 24 years now in BC.Wouldn,t want to do anything else ,well some days, but what a fulfilling job when you do a huge move
Makes a change!.. Bringing Christianity to the people instead of turning people to Christianity!

Lol, I was just at this church a week ago. it was amazing how they did that. And none of the stained glass windows even cracked either.
Fantastic video! Beautifully done.
Quite a spectacle, handled with class and good humor.
Woah...our town just moved a 150 year old church, which was quite amazing to see, but this video is amazing!! Wow!

A moving experience!
The song is amazing!

This is really clever..I like!
How many miles does YOUR church have on it? God's mobile home. Imagine a wedding where the bride & groom and chasing after their church. LMAO!
Very, very kewl! Thanks for posting.
Wow! Fantastic! Very enjoyable!
Quite a task, I am sure God himself provided a guiding hand too. Great video as well, to mark the achievement.
Nice! God Bless you!
I love this song !

Great video. I loved it.

I couldn't help but laugh myself shitless when I saw this on tv. It looks like something drawn by Terry Gilliam but turned into reality. Hilarious.
There is something beautifully absurd about watching a church trundle along a road. Excellent TV series, excellent music too. Personally I think 'Touch the Stars' is better music for the speeded up sequences.
Thanks Mr P
*not sure how I got here, was trying to look up Church the hiphop move but I aint mad, this is awesome*
@nameofthepen Thank you for your wonderful comment. You are too kind.

How did they file it?
What was the mechanical transition from the truck to the ground?
What was built on the land from which it was moved?
It became farmland
Woah...That's something! My friend has pictures of her little house being moved like that, but this is wild.
The biggest thing I've even seen move was a two storey house. This was cool!
good job...
LoL.., that has gotta be the darndest thing I ever did see :D
Made my night!!
Looks like a church I went to as a kid
WOW! thats funny, and really awesome how they can do some things!
moving video
lmao, same all the way!..I can't stop singing it!
Didn't you have any power lines to deal with? Or did they take them all down ahead of time? When we moved a church, we had to remove the tower to deal with the cost of the power lines. Cool any way! Movers from KS

The church was moved from Lincoln Township Iowa tot Manning Iowa, about 10 miles
Even though I'm Jewish, this is still pretty cool.
Wow that is just great
Man, that's such a strange bit of footage! I love it! and the music is GREAT! like somthing the beatles might have done (if they were truckers)
* * * * * stars.
looks like an Eric Idle animation, except it really happened! WOW!
It has NOTHING to do with the beatles or eric idle. THIS VIDEO IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYTHING THOSE GUYS WOULD DO.
well, this is nothing compared to the old gothic church in the old town of Most...due to coal mine opening, they had to move a real architectonic jewel (unofrtunately could not move the whole city...) really worth watching any documentary on that topic...

I'm not Christian, but this is off the scale
The Church is actually neutral and used mostly for weddings
lol!
I thought it looked like somthing he might do.
(Did the old Monty Python animations, for those not catching the Terry Gilliam referance)
Great video. And the song is really nice too. :)
When the church is emerging from behind the hill it looks like it's sneaking. Like in a Monty Python cartoon. :P
You said it
nothing TO DO WITH MONTY PYTHON.
How much did this cost?
@Basch3000 - you and this video arrived at YT in 2007. However, that's where the similarity ends. You are tedious and depressing, while this video is full of fun and win.
Imagine holding a service in a moving church...
Thank you for typing what I was thinking.
@OakPark11MileRd There is only one color in Manning.
Ha ha, fionnoc - you were trolling, and you got pwned. :D
how jaded some of us must not to appreciate a feat like this when it has something to do with *gasp* christianity?! get over it dudes - this move was amazing.

They were just cruising around the block ;)

The church was moved 12 miles, not hundreds.

why did they move that church???
i mean!!! it's like if you spend 2000 dollars on something useless just cuz you have the money...
If they didn't move it, they'd have to tear it down
on Massive Moves 02/13/10
Why go to all the trouble. All they had to do was to ask Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson, Billy Graham, Paul Crouch. George Bush, etc. etc. to ask god to move it!
the guy who posted this lied. This church was NOT moved hundreds of miles across the US.

The church is neutral, though. Anyone can go there, no matter their religion
All hail John Deere
terrible sound quality, thanks!

Why do they use a tractor to move the church and not God´s special powers?
Ahh, God was driving the tractor.
Stop that singing or I'm going to turn this church around.
airplane
i like americans, they got humor... :D
@nameofthepen Oh, offcourse! In 2007 mankind was not advanced enough to produce any better sound quality than this. Stupid of me. This video is great, indeed. But this quality is absolutely terrible.
