  • There was a heated exchange of words between DMK MP A Ganeshamurthi and Union Minister Piyush Goyal in Lok Sabha on Wednesday after the latter refused to answer a supplementary question in English. The DMK MP, who asked the question in Tamil, was angry over minister's reply in Hindi and insisted on the reply in English. However Goyal categorically refused to reply in English and continued in Hindi, saying the translation is available in English. Watch the faceoff in this video.

As an Indian from Southern state Tamilnadu,I support Union Minister Piyush Goyal's stance.DMK MP is promoting Language politics, if he needs answer in English he should've asked questions in English then. Why is he asking in Tamil and expecting answer in English? He knows that his question will be translated so union minister too replied in Hindi bcz he too mentions that it will be translated. Then why is the issue now?DMK as always using Language politics Trump Card whenever they need publicity.

I have read in book that Tamil language is the ancient language of India, so Tamil culture is our heritage. It's not limited to Tamilnadu only. Tamil culture is the heritage of whole country and we are bound for its protection. And this culture is not so weak that speaking in other language would make it vulnerable. Tamil is the pride of this nation and its not only about Tamil language, but also about Malyalam, kannad, Telugu.

because they wants divide politics which was introduced by britishers, They wants to divide and rule which will Allow them to remain in power
They just wants to show their fellow Tamil people's that They're their Savior, if u want to keep Tamil language than Vote for us , They wants to propagate Aryan inv asion , Migration, tourism, picnic theory which has already been debunked, The whole India has same R1A happlo group same Genetic from Kashmir to kanyakumari

I'm a Tamizhan. As much as respect should be given to every Indian language, the vast majority of Indians understand Hindi and not English. This is an undeniable fact. When I travel to interior Karnataka or AP, there are only a handful who understand English. It is much easier to communicate in broken Hindi with them. Generations of Tamilians have been denied an opportunity to learn Hindi (me included) because of petty politics. And no, Hindi can never be considered as a threat to Tamil. Learning Hindi opens many more opportunities to Tamilians, just like how English did.

These days we have excellent technology to translate languages very quickly - just as they are spoken. So, everyone should speak in the language they are comfortable in. The real issue here is Tamil Nadu is failing miserably in attracting FDI due to poor ease of doing business rankings and also a lack of respect for wealth creators. In the name of social justice, entrepreneurs and wealth creators are disrespected though these are the very same people who pay taxes that are used to give subsidized idlis and dosas and electricity to the freeloaders, instead of imparting vocational skill sets so people can work and earn on their own. Then the TN State runs liquor shops to finance these subsidies plunging the State into further doom. Look at TN’s electricity board - completely bankrupt - due to not collecting dues and giving away electricity for free. The reality is TN’s youth do not have access to decent jobs and have to leave the state and work in places like Hyderabad and Bengaluru. This is similar to States like Kerala and Waste Bengal, where crony social justice parties have plunged the future of the youths there and they all have to seek jobs elsewhere. Where is the Tamil pride when you cannot even create jobs for the people? All that is left is unwanted Tamil stronk in the parliament. Ridiculous.

      DMK is creating divisons
And I believe Hindi is not a common language, sanskrit should be our common medium language , sanskrit was always our civilizational language, even The Great Chola Empire used Sanskrit as their Civilizational language and Main language to rule whole South East Asia
because they wants divide politics which was introduced by britishers, They wants to divide and rule which will Allow them to remain in power
Just to remain in power and to Enjoy power DMK continously spreads venom and Propaganda and plays language politics, divide and rule politics
