Marvel used to be called the “House of Ideas.” They could use some new ideas these days.
Actually they need less ideas. If Venom War was 2 issues a month for 3 months instead of 6 issues in a single month maybe they could get me buy an extra issue. If the X-relaunch were X-Men, X-Factor, Wolverine, and let's say for something a little different Phoenix & the Starjammers maybe it would be convincing any of this matters.
Well, they never defined the quality of those ideas, just that they have some.
I know right! I think some things like the Ultimate universe look good but Wtf is with everything else.

8/28 - Aliens vs. Avengers 1 ~ Captain America 12 ~ Deadpool Team-Up 1 ~ Marvel 85th Anniversary Special 1.

I agree with this list! I would just add Ultimate X-Men 6, Ultimate black panther 7, Ultimate Spider-Man 8, and Ultimates 3.
I don't think Marvel actually learned anything from the 90's with the Red Band covers
It's not just the covers, the interiors have extra gore. And they're selling better than the standard versions.

Why are there so many ongoing runs featuring Wolverine as a prominent character but are all supposed to be happening at the same time... ?
I think back during Secret Invasion, there was a fan theory that there was a Skrull Wolverine running around which explained everything.
There *was* a Skrull Wolverine during a period of late 90s X-Men, but that was a different thing.
They’re trying to get people to buy their crappy comics with a popular character.

Watch one of the older numbers videos from Perch. The reason is to create a regular stream of no. 1 variants as those traditionally sell best. Marvel needs constant new no. 1s for their business model of selling variants to collectors and nearly every series decays in sales after no. 1. That’s why they will relaunch most series, but those that sell badly need to be relaunched more often.
As to why even keep series around that sell badly: first Marvel pays low enough page rates to still make some money and Marvel wants the stores filled with their stuff to avoid any smaller publisher getting decent shelf space. It’s called „the flood the shelves strategy“.
That Black Cat on that cover reminds me of Pamela Anderson's Barb Wire.
Yay! August is going to be a cheap month since there isn't a single title I'm interested in reading (although I may check out the Marvel 85th Anniversary thing if it turns out Alan Davis is drawing a new Captain Britain story in that issue).
Finally got through the video. Today's K-Pop song (finally) is Love Shake by Minx. It's an older song, but it checks out.
Perch could stay current with some New Jeans, though.

@@JDPetty0990 Twice. They tended to be (guesstimating) 60% of Perch's K-Pop clips. They're very popular with the youth right now and I'd lay money his daughters are or were big on them. Your local Target probably has a K-Pop shelf with a lot of Twice stuff.

@@themultiversalmagpie7827 yeah I like 60s Marvel too, I think it was more written for children though and it was mostly one and done, whereas in the Bronze age they started mastering telling a story in one issue while also making it part of a longer story (Claremont X-Men is the perfection of the monthly comic book art form IMO.)

I'd love to see Brian reed brought back to do a blast from the past Ms Marvel mini series / run that ties into his 2006 Ms Marvel run. It won't happen but I would buy it day one.
And I'm hating the Giant-Size comics. You get 20 pages of a new comic and then a reprint. For $8. I bought one and no more. I learned my lesson.
I don't mind a good reprint if it gets my interest up. But the lead in needs to be worth it.
@adamfrey4920 I can't speak to all of them, but the lead story was both uninteresting and inconsequential. The reprint material was decent, but I would rather have bought that separately. There is no earthly reason those books should cost as much as they do.
@@drewtheunspoken3988 I'll admit the Hulk one was odd, because the lead was the Hulk having a fight on a train and the reprint was Banner trying to catch a train (#372).
Had thay reprinted Hulk #368, that would have been an actual story about Hulk fighting on a train.

@adamfrey4920 I made the mistake of buying the X-Men one. It was Nocenti being full on Nocenti and it was only Angel. The reprint/backup was Marvel Two-in-One #68, starring The Thing and Angel. Not even an X-Men story. And Angel is one of those characters I can't bring myself to care about.
No one bought the first two Ultraman series, so they had to include him with the Avengers and try again 😂

Since when is Danny Rand back as Iron Fist? I thought Marvel got rid of him and replaced him with a more diverse Iron Fist. Or is this one of those books that is supposedly set in some undefined past or alternate reality, something Marvel seems to do a lot lately.

Considering Jed McKay is one of the two Marvel writers I'm reading I feel that having him write so many books is Marvel targeting me directly by spreading the poor guy so thin. The only question left for me is will it be the Avengers or X-Men that team up with Black Cat first?
Judging by their location compared to Black Cat's, I'd say Avengers.
The only two kinds of books worth buying from Marvel are the mini-series (based in the past) and the facsimile edition books. All the other books aren't even toilet paper worthy.
The red band gimmick Marvel is launching feels like those extra dollars are meant to make up the quarter's cocaine budget. Think about all those suckers shilling out the extra buck for literally the same art just inked differently. Lmao

I stopped at around issue 40 of the first run. The early issues showed promise, but there weren't a lot of places they could take it. They had to lead to Empire and any really big moments were left for the novels. Which meant the comics had to maintain the status quo. It was fun to see the OG characters but the novelty wore off fairly quickly.
Honestly, I would have preferred a series that followed jedia and had them dealing with Imperial remnants.
Haven't read anything Marvel in a while. Might try out Uncanny X-Men, X-Factor, Wolverine: Revenge & The Incredible Hulk. The Werewolf by Night: Unholy Alliance TPB also caught my interest.
When did the symbiote becoming a thing?
During the beginning of the Carnage title and the writers regurgitating Game of Thrones' Night King & dragon.
I'm surprised there's going to be a Wolverine on-going by Ahmed, the Wolverine Revenge miniseries w/ Hickman and Capullo, and also a Wolverine miniseries by Claremont...? And also, X-23 comics?
I can see fans buying all 3, but also, I can HEAR fans complaining about "having" to buy all 3, and HEAR fans saying how they will only buy 1 or 2.
Not to mention, as much as people say they love Claremont, I have barely heard anything about this Wolverine Claremont series.
There's also Uncanny X-Men which features him as part of the mutant roster.
So all and all, Wolverine, as in Logan, will be in 2 ongoing runs supposedly happening in the same world and at the same time and two different minis.
How many books does Jed Mackay write? Is he Marvel's best or most worked?

You and me know Justina Ireland wrote Star Spider but Justina does not write a lot marvel comics that make her memorable. She mostly wrote Marvel Voices and Star Wars comics.

Jason loo is infamous for Sentey comic. I know Jason wrote Daredevil backup with dumb explanation of Danny send Lin Lie to Daredevil.

Jim Zub as well. You may or may not have noticed, but *Jim Zub is only writer who cares about “Victor Alvarez.* As Jim put Victor in his Champions and he also His Thunderbolt.
Victor Alvarez was Danny Rand’s Student during’s Fred Van Lente’s run Power Man and Iron Fist.
Jim Zub is perfect substitute for Fred Van Lente, if Fred is not available.
It would be cool if Jim Zub do a story that take place in the past, or Jim Zub can make a story about how Much that Victor had grow as person thanks to Danny Rand’s teachings. And Jim Zub can acknowledge what happened to his/Luke Cage’s Thunderbolt. Because Marvel had unjustly screwed over Jim Zub’s Thunderbolts.

And Even Kaare Andrews who currently writing Spider Man Reign 2 but Marvel didn’t ask him to join Iron Fist’s 50th anniversary? He wrote two great Iron Fist stories and Marvel didn’t bother to ask him to join the 50th anniversary.

Predator Vs Black Panther? That’s a terrible pairing, I just hate Predator or Aliens being crossed over with superheroes.
For the most part, I agree. But, I've been wanting Predator vs. The Punisher since 1991. It was even the first fanfic comic I made.

Nick Spencer didn’t do much with Avril and Al Ewing didn’t do much either aside disrespecting Wendell’s Shield background. So Avril from earth 6160 wound be a best way begin to make her into character from the start.

I'm an admitted X-Men simp and have been vocal about my enjoyment of the Krakoa Era. But, so far, none of the solicitations for the new X-Men stuff is getting me pumped for it. I'm curious and I'll be checking them out but, so far, they just sound bland. Most of the team lineups are just so random.
