    There has got to be so much potential out there for real time rendered audio visualizers and you are seriously doing something amazing!

    This is awesome! :)) All my life I have been unsatisfied with music visualizers, because they never seemed to match what I was heading, and now you finally did it! Thank you! It's inspiring!
    (And like many others, I would totally appreciate tutorials on that, and be happy to Patreon you or such.)

    I can't tell you how many times I've watched this, stellar job! I'd been looking for a way to do much more unique visuals for my own sets for a while and found a way to make Traktor and Resolume communicate, but doing it with Ableton and Unreal is a whole other level. I'm really glad I found this, and that you and Sem were kind enough to release the tools on your Patreon with great documentation about how to use the tools.

    This is really insane, appreciate sharing this stuff! I think its time to learn unreal haha. I have a question, are the camera angles manipulated in real time with the use of midi buttons or is that something which is changing "randomly" persay. Reminds me of playing REZ on PS2 as a kid, can envision collpasing worlds and manipulating characters and environments realtime with music, even using mocap for a live dance. The inspiration is strong, thanks again

    • @tristangieler
      @tristangieler  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thank you for the kind words. Yes, the cameras are controlled via midi notes and OSC. I talk about it a bit in this video: th-cam.com/video/rNR7kIv1Tzw/w-d-xo.html

    This is super dope! Any thoughts on Unity VS Unreal for this sort of thing? I'm about to start working on AV stuff and have been following Keijiro Takahashi's work (performances, as well as his vast collection of libraries) with Unity for a while. Was just at an AV set last night and someone showed me a cool project made with Unreal so this is my first time really looking into it.

    • @tristangieler
      @tristangieler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cool! It's a question of taste. Both Unreal and Unity are very powerful. I use Unreal because it has the blueprints visual scripting tool, which is a big help for people who don't want to spend too much time coding but do understand the basics of object based programming. That made the learning curve a little less hard for me personally. I've seen people do awesome stuff in Unity though! There's also things like Touchdesigner you can consider

  • @symbionproject
    @symbionproject 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very cool and creative! Interested to hear what's driving the camera changes? Are those handled automatically or is something music driving them or real-time control from the Livid?

    How beefy a machine are you running that on?

    • @tristangieler
      @tristangieler  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      fairly beefy. ryzen 3900x, 64gb ram, rtx 2080ti. but I aim to get it to a point where I can run it on 2 separate laptops. one ableton laptop on stage and another in the front of house running unreal. Should be doable judging from the frame rates I'm getting now

      thanks! I have a lot of experience making visuals and music, but Unreal is a fairly new venture. I think I've been using it for about 2 years now, and increasingly in the last year
