  • I decided to add biblical passages to this part of the movie, so that people can "LEARN" and "FOLLOW" ALONG with GOD's "HOLY WORD", when watching this "GREAT" scene from this movie.
The editing & making of this biblical subtitled version from the scene of 'The Prince Of Egypt" was done of February 9th, 2011.
    "ENJOY", PEACE:)

Actually it's possible that this might have been Jesus/God the Son. In the gospel of John Jesus says "before Abraham was born. I Am" implying that Jesus is the same I AM who spoke to Moses.

Yep. The text says “the Angel of the LORD”. This Angel is a Person who is called YHVH, calls Himself YHVH, speaks as YHVH, yet is sent by YHVH. This Angel can forgive or not forgive transgressions because YHVH’s Name/Presence is in Him. This Angel is the visible representation of the invisible YHVH. In 1 Samuel 3, He is called “the Word of YHVH”. In Genesis 19:24, the ancient Targum Johnathan calls the One who came to Abraham with 2 regular angels HaMemra YHVH (The Word of the LORD).
It is this Person, who is the visible representation of the invisible YHVH, who placed Himself in the womb of a teenaged Jewish girl in the late 1st century BC, and was born as a human - Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ).

If you study the story of Moses you would see that Moses wasn't a very good speaker and he was scared to go to Egypt like any normal human would be and so when God said who made the deaf the mute the seeing or the blind, he basically stated that he created all mankind and that Moses's speech impediment or lack of educational word didn't mean anything to God he still choose to use him just like he could use a deaf a mute, the seeing or blind so that his Glory can be known to all that he does what he wants and uses who he wants to use. Enlightened yet?

I grew up with this movie as a child. I came across this video looking to see the comparison. Little did I know that I would be taken back to my younger days. Now that i'm much older and more learned in religion I understand now. During this whole video my eyes started to well up a bit. its hard to explain, but something about the music, the instruments, and it came to a point when God told Moses "Now Go!" I truly was terrified, and comforted by the same voice not even 5 seconds later. Props to this amazing cast and crew for making a timeless masterpiece for everyone at any age.

4:00 - 4:12 I could be wrong here but I think this part is referencing a moment in Exodus chapter 33 verse 22 where it says “When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23 Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.” So I think what we’re seeing here is God’s Back.

No, God chose Moses to be the one who would help free the Israelites (God's chosen people) from slavery in Egypt, but Moses kept hesitating, saying that he wasn't the right person.
So, when the Lord said that, "Who made man's mouth? Who made the deaf, the mute, the seeing, or the blind? Did not I?", He was saying that even if a person has a problem of some sort, they can still be used to do the Lord's will.
Take a look at Saul/Paul in the New Testament. He persecuted new Christians because they stopped following the Jewish teachings. But after his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus, he was saved and become the greatest evangelist the Christian faith has ever known.
Point being, the doers of the Lord's will can come from somewhere you'd least expect.

as explained by other people in this comments section, Moses in the Bible had a speech impediment and didn't feel confident in his ability to address the Pharaoh directly. God's response is essentially a reminder that God created *everyone* for a specific purpose, and that Moses' inability to speak didn't matter because in the end God had chosen him anyway.
As for the afflictions themselves, well, we could have prevented them too. Where's the blame towards us for making physical and mental disability a part of this world, along with every other hardship we ever have and will face? God didn't force us to eat the fruit.

Originally, Moses had a speech impediment and he questioned whether he could deliver god’s message. God reminded him that he made people’s imperfections, so when god is with him, he could also undo them at his will. One of its points is to juxtapose a mortal and flawed human next to a perfect immortal and all-powerful god. Think of it as the same effect you experience when you enter a mighty cathedral.
