0:13 seeing this and knowing how it all ends makes me so sad every time 😢. Like Ramses was more than willing to forgo all royal decorum and just lift Moses in a giant hug in front of the court ❤❤ And then he just looks completely disgusted by Hotep and Huy’s interruption 😂
crazy how this scene made the later half of the movie so heartbreaking because everything else aside, Ramses DO see Moses as his true brother even after knowing his origin and all, which makes the 10 disasters scene truly terrifying because Moses felt the same way towards Ramses and had to do all those terrible things, to his "former people", to his brother, in order to let his people go, idk if it's intentional or not but god damn it's beautifully sad
Notice when hotep and huy reminded him that there is an outstanding desth sentence on Moses rameses looks visably annoyed. Rameses was probably very upset his father declare the death sentence for Moses if he was ever found. Now that he is pharaoh he can finally pardon him.
What is interesting about this scene is that the priests loose. Yes they make a show, have an impressive song and musical number. Yes they do let it seem as if they actually summoned two cobras, and everyone is impressed. And over that, everyone misses that moses' staff, wich by the way turned into a KING cobra, a serpent that eats other serpents kills those two, proving that they would ultimatly fail.
You'll notice how the two magic goons needed so much fanfare, smoke and mirrors to pull this off...while God, through Moses, needed nothing to display his might. He did so in full view of the people with no shades, covers, or anything extra, just His own power.
Rameses was surly devastated when seti ordered Moses executed when or if he was found. Having them inturrupt such a joyous moment to bring it up definatly rubbed him the wrong way and was the perfect opportunity to do something he wanted to do for a long time…formally pardon Moses.
LOVE LOVE LOVE how their was no smoke and mirrors with Moses trick....vs the magicians who they looked more like practical effects the whole time. This movie man...
Bingo! It was harder to catch as a kid even when this used the red powder to make fake blood at the river scene... but as an adult, the whole thing is very apparent as one giant sham.
0:36 the pissed look on rameses face when he is reminded of the outstanding death sentence on Moses. Rameses was probaly mortified that seti sentenced his brother to death if he was ever found and the last thing he wanted was his bumbling advisors to ruin a heartfelt moment to bring it up.
I love how the two priests performed the slight of hand blinding everyone and then pulling out 2 snakes whereas Moses had his in the view of everyone without the mumbo-jumbo
Ramses hugging Moses is so wholesome, and making essentially everything that follows heartbreaking and devastating to watch. They truly love each other, yet they are fundamentally different and destined to be enemies.
@@melvinfranco2142 I like to imagine them either rolling eyes or finding it amusing. All these tricks and lights and spectacle to prove a point, meanwhile moses just presents the staff to the pharaoh and God works his wonders without the need for fanfare or a show.
They should do more of this kind. Maybe a story about Abraham, the title would be “The Friend of God” or “The Father of Faith”. Maybe one about Queen Esther, “The Queen of Persia”. I would watch them.
What about a movie about the story of Samson, the judge who has super strength as long as his hair isn't cut, and how he took the Phillistines down with him? I imagine the title to be, "The Strength of God", or something along those lines.
yall hear the murmur of the people the whole time while Moses and Ramses are talking??? I swear....in 2024 we should be having 2D animated movies on another level.
The more I read about history the more heartwarming their reunion seems. Every society on earth from this point to perhaps a century ago ran on protocol that got more and more absurd the higher you go, and here the divine god-king of Egypt is like "BROOOOOO!!!"
I side with the Hebrew people, even if I don't believe in theirs or any other god. What makes this conflict so sad and believable is that none of the brothers wanted it, but none of them could let go either without sacrificing what they believed their people needed.
I seen the sign of Scorpio and my jaw dropped. I'm not on the Astrology "what's your sign, moon, etc. stuff" bandwagon, but I just bought an empty journal to journal my feelings and speak to God, with my sign on it, simply because it had my sign on it and nothing more, and now I'm second guessing my harmless "involvement". Like, I don't practice it, but is the sign and the few Necklaces I have harmful. I never got bad vibes from it because I only I've never been interested and never turned to astrology for answers. I rely on God, especially in recent months. I view it as one of those things that associates with my birthday, but I don't let it impact or dictate my life.
It’s amazing how much pride they have in themselves that they need all those followers and borrowed power from MANY of the Egyptian Gods to do what Moses could do alone with the power of God himself.

He's so pissed off.
😂
This comment is one of the absolute best I've ever read.
It's sad because he truly loved his brother yet fate put them on opposite sides.
When two grown men see each other after so many years. And in a brief moment, return to the boys they once were.
