All these songs are great, they have no bad, weak or meh songs, and no fillers at all. Every song is special, you could randomly select a song, best life, of course, and LOVEBITES won't disappoint you. They play many different Heavy Metal styles with a certain LOVEBITES sound, they revive the masters of the 80's (and 90's) in a fresh and modern way. LOVEBITES may have the most talented musicians around, all of them S tier. Drummer Haruna is relentless like a metronome, both Miho and Fami master their bass (for Fami's capabilities, you should visit "Alien Alien" from my list, it's in her TH-cam channel will almost 700K subscribers), the dual guitars M&M (for Midori and Miyako) is most certainly the best duo for trading guitar solos and harmonizing, and Asami's voice is stellar with big range, powerful belt and good vibrato. She is also a trained ballerina with exceptional stage presence. One reactor caller her "Stage General", which is perfectly put. Hard, tight, fast, relentless, effortless and clean, that's LOVEBITES. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy your ride!

Ir's complete apart from 5 or so instrumental songs and other solo projects as well as interviews, documentation, extras. There's also the fact, that this is a supergroup, where they've played in former groups, such as Destrose (Haruna, Miho), A Drop Of Joker, 21g, Sonic Lover Reckless (Miyako), Gekijo★METALicche (Midori), VAMPS/UVERworld/Solo live (Asami), Sayaka Yamamoto live (Asami), and Solo EPs (Fami, Miyako), or even some Miho stuff from her time after leaving (Chaos Control, Maki Oyama, Midnight Roses, Tokyo Rock Blaster), to name a few. I'll add these sections, if needed...

Where Band-Maid are the queens of Rock, Lovebites are definitely the queens of Metal. I knew you'd both appreciate the superb musicianship on display. After 30+ years of watching men sweat and grimace over complex guitar work, it's so refreshing to see the same level of musicianship being performed in high heels and sparkly dresses by women with happy faces (Miyako, the guitarist on the right, is a happy person but her stage persona is generally unsmiling, but she's the exception). Between Band-Maid, Lovebites and The Warning I'm pretty content with my musical playlists! PS Asami always sings in English which is why there's no subtitles!

Hahahaha! Watching men grimace and sweat is exactly part of the reason why I didn't get into metal. I grew up during the Golden Era of punk rock (late 70's to early 80's and Metal (with all do respect) except a few bands just didn't do it for me. Until, I discovered the lovely Metal Queens and Pricesses of Japanese Metal. Starting with Babymetal. So refreshing! Smiling, having a great time, bring positivity, playfulness and hapiness in to the Metal world. Let's not forget the Japanese fans with their participation. It all just brings joy and hapiness into the world. ❤️❤️❤️

I was into Punk in 76 and 77 but was already into Rock and Metal too (Sabbath was my first gig in 76 but in that same year I also saw Quo, Hawkwind, Bob Marley, The Clash and the Sex Pistols) but by the 90's it all sounded like inferior copies of bands I'd already seen with odd exceptions. Then I found Babymetal in 2016 and haven't looked West since (apart from The Warning, a female Rock trio - 3 sisters from Mexico - who I'm going to see live in April). They led me to Band-Maid,,,Lovebites...Asterism...Nemophila and many others from Japan. And now I'm very happy with my playlists!

Asami, singer wrote the music and lyrics for "Judgement Day" She is also the primary lyricist. Plus a fairly new Mother and Wife.
They are petite ladies, so they decided to wear White. This is due to Metal Stages being normally dark. White reflects light so by wearing White they stand out on the dark stage.
For your wife, the blond guitarist is Midori. She left pharmacy school to become a musician at 20yo. She went to a vocational school where she also learned how to make guitars. A guitar she built is on display in a Tokyo shop, NOT for sale.
Asami knew nothing about Metal music when she joined the band. She primary singing R&B, Jazz. One of the main reason she was selected is that she is English fluent. She is singing in English!! She rained as a ballerina, but there isn't much for 4'10" ballerinas so she became a singer. She is not the shortest member of the band.
The newest member is Fami, bass. This was her first time playing in a band and her first major concert.

Listen to this song again, now concentrating on the rhythm section, the drums and the bass. They are working hard. They are good.
The bassist is only 20 years old and she is totally new to the band. This is from her first tour. Her name is Fami and she has her own followers from before Lovebites. A prodigy.
The drummer is Haruna. She is very small and is rumored to be nuclear powered because she never stops her blinding fast drumming. Her placing of cymbals is top tier.

LOVEBITES is a five-piece all-female, Japanese heavy metal band with deep musicianship (plus classical music/piano background). They transcend gender, genre, and geography, with some 60 songs in their discography. They won Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band (2018), toured with Dragonforce (2019), first female Japanese band to perform at Wacken Open Air (Germany) and others in Europe, and are unusual among Japanese bands in choosing to sing in English plus good lyrics (a daunting task for native Japanese speakers).

I would not call Edge of the world a Ballad, yes it starts as a Ballad, but this is more a Theme song hence the Titel of the song, this song starts very slow like a ballad but this is more a intro how "bad "things in moment at the world or if you want in live are, you stay on the Edge and you struggle to not fall over the Edge, than it gets dramatic and tense as you fight to stay on the edge and than it seems you gain distance from the Edge, and in the end fought and prevail the upper hand and win against all odds so the song has 4 mood changes and this is what makes this song one of my absolute favorite It tells a story alone from the Musical Interlude .. This song is definitely not a Ballad.

Please bear in mind that this is more of a heavy song, they have more melodic songs which people prefer, like Holy War, Swan Song (with Chopin intro), We the United etc.

At 72 years old I have traveled much of Europe to see metal concerts (and other genres) and I can say, in my opinion, these young women form the best group and the best twin guitars of the history of metal. By their collective and individual skills, their versatility, their humility and by the lyrics of their songs which are not simply filler. Thank you ladies and continue to make us dream. Don't miss reacting to "Frozen Serenade" which is, for me, their absolute masterpiece.

Even in the Japanese metal scene, "white" was considered taboo, and if you wore a white costume on stage, you risked being isolated and not accepted by those around you. Nevertheless, they dared to choose a feminine white stage costume and made the wolf the band's symbol, saying that they did not mind being treated like lone wolves.
And their fans somehow came to call themselves the "Wolf Pack".
Well that's a cool story behind the name.
p.s. the band is actually named after the American band Halestorm's 2012 release "Love bites", of whom members of Lovebites are a big fan

LOVEBITES is a Japanese all-female heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by former Japanese heavy metal band DESTROSE members Miho( bass,backing vocals) and Haruna(drums). The band has successfully performed at various major international rock-festivals many times .In the spring of 2018, LOVEBITES performed on the Japanese leg of the Warped Tour. In August 2018, they performed at Wacken Open Air (Germany), becoming the first Japanese all-female rock band to perform at the festival (over the entire history of this festival, since 1990). Also in August 2018 they performed on the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air (UK). In 2019, LOVEBITES performed at the Download Festival in Donington (UK) and Download Festival in Madrid (Spain). Their performance in Donington was named by the festival organizers and Metal Hammer magazine as one of the highlights of the festival! In the same year they performed at the Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) and the Summer Sonic Festival (Japan). Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic that began in 2020 prevents LOVEBITES from performing at festivals and forced a drastic reduction of concerts.
LOVEBITES is a phenomenal band, all the ladies are talented musicians! They have recorded about 60 original songs and musical compositions for 2017-2023.
🐺Miho - bass, backing vocals (in August 2021 she left the band).

🐺Miyako (Mi-Ya)- guitars, piano, keyboards, backing vocals.

🐺Miho has been playing the piano since the age of 5. Later, when she was in school, Miho started playing the bass guitar. Great bassist! The fact that such a wonderful band appeared is, first of all, the merit of Miho. She came up with the idea to create a band and what kind of music she would play. It is a combination of "old school" heavy metal (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) with other genres. Miho invited Haruna to join her and together they found the rest of the members .
🐺Haruna started playing drums when she was in school. She also plays piano/keyboards. Haruna is the smallest (4 '9 "), but appearances are deceiving. When Haruna sits down at the drums, this is the 'little BIG Engine'. She is one of the best drummers in Japan.
🐺Midori (blond hair) has been playing the piano since she was two years old and the electric organ since she was eight. She started studying guitar at the age of 20. Super guitarist, 'Crazy Shredder'. She surpasses many male guitarists in speed and technique of playing the guitar.
Graduated from ESP/MI JAPAN ( Osaka), GIT-DX department (superfast guitar department). ESP/MI JAPAN is an International Music Institute , headquartered in Hollywood, California, USA.
🐺Miyako (black hair) has been playing the piano since the age of three, received a classical education (piano) and wanted to pursue a career as a pianist. She has been playing the guitar since the age of 18. Super guitarist! They call her 'The Golden Touch' and she is a real musical genius. Miyako is the main composer of the band, she wrote about 50% of the music.
* In terms of teamwork and guitar synchronization/harmonization, Midori and Miyako (M&M) are perhaps the best guitar duo in metal today. In a review of LOVEBITES, a famous music critic wrote about Midori and Miyako: “It’s a crime to have two guitarists of such a high level in one band!”😊
🐺Asami started with R&B and Soul music . She studied classical ballet for about 16 years (this is noticeable in her movements on stage, especially the movements of her hands). Started studying ballet at the age of two. After leaving school, Asami lived for some time in the US, where she came to study dance. Plays the piano. Asami wrote most of the lyrics of the band's songs.
🐺Fami plays bass, keyboards, guitar, writes songs, sings. She has released solo Album, which she dedicated to graduating from school.

Here some information about the band:
LOVEBITES are around since 2016 and their first EP and album came out in 2017. At this point they have already released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of live DVD/Blu-ray releases.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023.

Asami on vocals (the one and only voice):
Has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer
Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch):
She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, also she is a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, she loves her pets and Star Wars
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, does songwriting for a few songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Best drummer in the universe (IMO), wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3, also the band was Miho‘s idea, she and Haruna were the founding members!

Live 2021, Live in Tokyo (Heavy Metal Never Dies).
The blonde guitarist is Midori. She is also an avid body builder, even competes. The dark haired guitarist is Miyako. Miyako is also a very talented pianist. The singer is Asami. Prior to Lovebites her background was in R&B and soul. Fami (like family) is on the bass. Haruna is on drums. Interesting bit of trivia involving Haruna. She is one of the founding members of Lovebites (along with Miho, the original bassist) and founded the band after leaving a band called Destrose. Destrose in an important band in the female Japanese metal community, so many current and past bands have a direct link to Destrose. Saki, the guitarist from Nemophila (usually on the right of your screen) was also a member of Destrose. Some other bands to include members of Destrose include Mary’s Blood (Saki was also in this band), Fate Gear (a steampunk metal band), Mardelas, Disqualia, Aldious (through a guitarist named Narumi and Mari, a drummer), and Lonesome Blue, to name a few. You could spend months just going down a Destrose rabbit hole. Destrose is the Kevin Bacon of female Japanese metal. Like you said, they probably don’t need the qualifiers, but in this case it makes sense.

Sorry. Small clarification.🤗 At her last concert with DESTROSE (December 2014), Haruna announced that she was leaving the music industry. Miho played in DESTROSE until the band disbanded (DESTROSE's last concert took place in July 2015). Miho was the second longest serving member of DESTROSE, after Mina (founder and leader of DESTROSE). After DESTROSE, Miho played in several metal bands as a support bassist (guest). At the beginning of 2016, Miho decided to create her own band (the band of her dreams). She invited Haruna to her new band . We can say that thanks to Miho, Haruna returned to her professional music career. By and large, LOVEBITES came about thanks to Miho, who remained the leader and 'brains' of the band until her departure in August 2021.
Even Hazuki from Nemophila had a connection to Destrose prior to Nemophila, as she was in the band Disqualia (who you mentioned).
you found one of the best bands around now. their backcataloge is around 60 songs and they do not know how to write a bad, mediocre or stale song. so, their rabbit hole is deep and very rewarding. You can enjoy good music even if you don't understand the language or the lyrics. English speakers have been spoiled in the last 50 years because almost 100% of the songs in the charts were in English. The rest of the world has always had to live with not understanding anything or not understanding everything. So the non-English speaking world has learned a lot and the English speaking world has stood still. As for Lovebites, they sing in English, but with an accent. If you listen to them a lot, your brain will get used to it and then you will understand them. Lovebites has been around since 2016, and the women became more famous worldwide after performing at several major festivals, mainly in Europe, starting in

2019 - Download Festival in Spain.
In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In 2021 the founder Miho left the band for personal reasons and it went into a hiatus which lasted until the end of 2022. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward.

These ladies are world class musicians and they are taking heavy metal to another level. They are also the best live band; flawless and effortless.
Don't let the guitars distract you from the obvious! They are all 5 over the top musicians! You've mentioned Asami's voice, but don't forget Haruna's drumming and Fami's bass!
For the thrashier route, look for "Set The World On Fire", "Break The Wall", "Raise Some Hell", "The Hammer Of Wrath", "M.D.O.", etc.
For Mrs. Coach use the "E" songs "Edge Of The World", "Epilogue", "Empty Daydream", plus "A FrozEn SErEnadE", and maybe "Rising [Acoustic Version]".
Problem is: They have no meh or bad song, they are all fantastic. "Shadowmaker", "Swan Song", "Rising", "When Destinies Align", "Don't Bite The Dust", "The Crusade", "Liar", ...

Oops, I fotgot "Holy War", but for a reason! Usually, it's the "entry drug", meaning the first song, showcasing most of their talents in one song. I've now determined about 1000 channels with LOVEBITES reactions, hundreds of them (around 300 to 500) had "Holy War" as one their first songs... Well, at least, it was in the catch all of "all songs are good"!

A great performance. Please play We Are by Aldious with the blonde singer. They are reminisce of Judas Priest and Thin Lizzy. They also have a twin guitar attack. The don't seem to get the attention the Love Bites and Band Maid get.

Asami, the lead singer, has joined Lzzy and Halestorm at the 2019 Download festival to perform that song. MIyako and Midori (blond pony tail) are IMO 2 of the best guitarists today. Haruna is a beast behind the drums. New bassist ,Fami (seen here), joined in Oct 2022, and she fits right in. Formed in 2016 by 2 ex- Destrose members, original bassist Miho ,and Haruna. They will tell you "we play heavy metal", some songs lean thrash, some lean power metal, and some ballads.
Judgement Day is the title track ,and lead single, of the 4th album, released last year, first recorded with Fami. This show was Fami's live debut. This song, and the 2nd album single Stand an Deliver (Shoot 'em Down), both have bass intros, a 'here's our new bassist, this is what she can do' kind of intro. To meet Miho, here's a few songs from the Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020 concert to watch: "Holy War", "Break the Wall", "Thunder Vengeance", and "Swan Song" with a Chopin piano intro played by Miyako.

A friend recommended Lovebites to me some 3 years ago. I was dubious at first when I saw the thumbnails for their videos on TH-cam, I thought they were going to be a J Pop band, but gave them a go. First song I heard from them was 'Winds of Transylvania' , the Vlad Love version. I think they are one of, if not the best, band I have ever heard in my 74 years. They revived an interest in the genre that I had somewhat lost in the 1990's. In many ways they are a reinvention of the 70'/80's British/European rock/metal bands I loved back then. Do please try more of their songs, if you liked this, you will not be disappointed. I'm going to see them in London next June 😃🐺 welcome to the Wolfpack.

Well, it’s always interesting when people react to Lovebites for the first time and seeing their faces in awe and stunned. Yes, these women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile proficient musicians. Those twin lead guitar solos by Miyako and Midori are already legendary, in just seven years. They are five of a kind. Their live performances are just outstanding. Some people say that they’re redefining metal or that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist. My next recommendations are “The Hammer of wrath”, “Set the world on fire”, “Break the wall”, “Shadowmaker”, “Thunder vengeance”. For future reactions I would definitely recommend going for live versions, just as with Babymetal and Band-Maid, the music videos are worth watching, but the live recordings are (generally) much better. One thing to keep in mind for Lovebites might be which show the live options are from. Personally I think the audio mix on Knocking at Heavens Gate (Both part 1 and 2) are not the best, in this one the guitars are a bit low in the mix and Asami's voice seems slightly off, at least to my mediocre ears. The 2021 "Heavy Metal Never Dies" probably have the best audio, but is recorded with Covid restrictions in place which gives the show a somewhat strange vibe lacking the energy from the crowd. "Five of a Kind" from 2020 is a very good live release, only problem is of cause the lack of their newer songs 🤘👍

The blonde guitarist that Mrs. Coach was asking about is Midori Tatematsu. The other guitarist is Miyako Watanabe (who is also a world-class concert pianist). We in the Wolfpack (Lovebite's fanbase) lovingly refer to them as M&M! They are one of the best dual-guitar tandems in the metal world, alongside Dave Murray and Adrian Smith (Iron Maiden), Glenn Tipton and KK Downing (ex-Judas Priest - well, partially "ex," as Glenn is still somewhat involved), Herman Li and Sam Totman (Dragonforce), and Saki and Hazuki (Nemophila).
Oh boy… you are in for a fun ride here. Lovebites… easily the best metal band in the world today! And so many facets of them to discover. All song from this band are amazing if you want a metal ballade you can hear Empty Daydream- Edge Of The World" and Epilogue " you can really hear the skills of those ladies but all songs are different and Amazing and different , I loved your face full surprise when you first hear them becouse you dont expect that sound and that voice from the singher Asami. If you feel like hear the crazy croud do it MDO from the same concert of Judgement Day [Live From Knockin' On Heaven's Gate].
I always felt Lovebites bridges the gap between Band-Maid and Babymetal. Band-Maid cause they play their own instruments but are mainly hard rock. Babymetal cause they do play metal music but the girls dance. Lovebites is the perfect combination of both
They are far much better then Band-Maid and LOVEBITES are the best band to come out since the early 90's.
the instramental side of music is usually what gets me with music regardless where it is from you can generally tune out the lyrics and listen soley to the music. Lovebites, Bandmaid and alot of other japanese bands put a lot of soul into the actual music side of it.
Holy War, Live at Zepp Divercity Tokyo 2020 is fast paced with great instrumentals and soaring vocals. If you would like some classical piano with another great song, try Swan Song (with Chopin intro) also from Live at Zepp Divercity Tokyo 2020. Another great song is Frozen Serenade, Live in Toyko 2021 (during the pandemic). There are so many great songs.
