- recreation of the original video for Edward Scissortongue's deleted tune "The Prospector" using reuploaded video footage for "The Prospector III" on Ed Scissor's newest album POST SLEEP (2022); check it out! xx
after all these years i can finally enjoy one of my absolute favourite music videos; it was considered lost media due to the tune and video being deleted off the internet but this year Ed came out with a new 2022 album which to my surprise had the original footage of the Prospector video; it was only a matter of a bit of stitching and cutting
[DISCLAIMER] - obviously i don't own the video or the tune itself; all that goes to Ed Scissor, im just here to enjoy the artistry x

He was woken at the break of dawn daily by the force of a light skim
And the sense that something was dying inside him
The first headline of the worst kept liar read:
"You my friend have many lessons to learn"
So he wrestled out the pharmaceutical blur
Left his mistress in his cabin set to boot in the machines in the cold day
The hum of that synthetic purr
Pneumatics tunnelling dirt
Priceless minerals peppered the earth
Every single morning the richness of his vanishing world grew more distorted and blurred
Cuboid and pixelated
Eyeballs foggy blink blinking on the maps that he sketched of all the tunnels he worked
A prophet of sorts
The king of the serfs
Mud portraits covered in dirt
The prospector
Son of the gold mines
Son of the earth
Work working where the bullion lurked
Rapturous the bell toll
Shrillings of a copper leaf
Bigger than the sum of any honest evil
He'd left his family behind every second in his mind they were running through a summer sequel
Fuzzy apparitions of a cold transit
Grey scale colours in this cold language
Rubble deep on this war torn shore line
War crimes rife in the plunder in a gold gambits
Hunting for the shimmers in a pitch black pit map
He would make every move more precise
Engage repeat
Vessels on a setting moon
One shimmer shallow in the melee of the diesel fumes giving room
The brightest brashest omnipresence
That suffocated every person present in the belly of this warm globe
Was never called to question
He grasped it tightly cause heaven was his cargo
Cogs stopped grinding and the rock fumes rising
Every single worker felt the warmth of his discovery
A once in a lifetime type find blinding (blinding)
The biggest jewel that man had ever seen
Grey meridian
Great giver of life
Pay your citizens
Make us millions
We've been working all day, all night inside your mines providing
Grey meridian
Great giver of life
Pay your citizens
Make us millions

He was woken by the sound of cycles in the silence
The second birth synthesising artificial bodies out of stasis
The data tanks were running at their optimum pace defrosting brain cells in the Medbay of the spaceship
Shimmers on a mystic cause stationed on a lunar base
A hundred metres shy of the most precious mine that man had made
His woman never made it
Lifeless in suspension
Life in his depression saw him weeping in a doctors arms
Heart rate normalised
Thought patterns scattered on another bleak assignment
War between the islands had the corporation frightened
Turrets ripping day and night until the laser cannons settled scores of ultraviolence
Water in the wires
Lifelines coursing through the innards of the make-up of these automated pilots
Futuristic miners
Touring the terrain in metal mechanised suits in search of treasures in the silence
Hybrids of man and machine laced a DNA sweepstake
You could feel the metal entering through the adamantium keychain
Phase one to see space differently
Pneumatics drilling in deep space
A grease-stained team made of meat heads, ex-marines, villains and sea snakes
A sweepstake of criminals
Keep safe your killers of peeps
Break your fillings and teeth
Take the tip of the tools
Break your weak face
Tools of the trade got the galaxy heated
Production lines hunting the deep slate
Greeted with occasional keepsakes
An igneous heatwave
To moon cross crumbling feet breaks
It's doom-like these days
Shimmering lakes of tranquillity
Drank the lakes bare 'til the lakes are dead visibly
Run the jewels under a hundred tools
Cripple and crush the moon
Slaving in caves of activity
Scaffold the entrance and delve into stars
Into parts unknown
Every single one a savage on the path they chose
Draining every pigment from the dark rainbow
And pick a pathway home
Grey meridian
Great giver of life
Pay your citizens
Make us millions

Thanks for providing us with this . This had to take a long time to recover.
Thank you for taking steps to preserve this song, man. It was so trippy to see how many people besides myself had been desperately searching for it after it disappeared. So it’s so great that it’s here now
Love this song. So much.. Good to see the original video💣🖤
ed scissor is a beautiful lyricist and story teller
Thank you for bringing this back!!
András Márton Fárkas has been busy with his own recreation as well . Your recovery has made my day as well and may have made the video for many as well
As I remember, the speed of the car was slower.
It was still a good thing you've done that project it's history now@@andrasmartonfarkas
Masterpiece🛸🔥
thank you :')
Just how was this recovered? Just imagine what kind of lost media this would've been if Ed got more followers in a certain time. Well.
Why was the song deleted? I can't I find this song anywhere (on Spotify).
OK SO HERE'S THE STORY:
The original version of this song, The Prospector was first featured on Ed Scissor's and Lamplighter's EP Chavassian Striking Distance, but for reasons unknown to me, it was removed off of the EP, it was pretty much removed from the internet.
That's until someone reuploaded the original song format and tried to remake the music video for it with original footage around 2 years ago (it wasn't the original music video, but it had the song). I took the opportunity to download the song for myself, holding onto it because it's one of my favourite tunes by Scissor; and later, with Ed Scissor's new 2022 album POST SLEEP, he uploaded the original video for the ORIGINAL Prospector song; albeit this time with a different song to the video: The Prospector III
i didn't waste any time and took it upon myself to recreate the original music video that's STILL nowhere to be found as of 2023, and now it's back on the internet!
@@ValAzurah Thanks for the info! How strange the song just got removed, especially as it's such a good song :) I like it much better than the III version.
@@----ic6pw It got copyrighted for the piano sample
@@timothyjew8129 cheers for this info! i actually never knew that! do you happen to know where the piano sample comes from? i'd love to know!
