Dude this is such a fucking insanely good track, its absurd. It's been 11 years now, I remember ripping this and listening to it on my ipod classic. Time fucking flys dude. Love from Aus 🏴☠
This song is one of High Focus’ all round best tracks and the view count is a piss take! Each individual artist delivers exquisitely, beautiful poetry and the visuals are on point... Years later and it still hits me. Thank you lads 🙏 x
Totally agree with you on everything that you saying, for me Jam Baxter is by far the best lyricist in the UK by far and has been for a long time Also none of them have sold out for fame or money
To be honest i just wanted jammy b's verse to keep going! so poetic and hard flowing ghost soul exploding colourful shards, art that got my thoughts overloading, broken open skull sparks from the shell, keep remarks to yourself, no point in writing what your heart hasnt felt.... short freestyle inspired by jammy, much love
''My mother was a princess my father was a king Spring, summer, autumn and winter to spring Blackbirds singing I see God in all things And as the earth spins it ends and begins again''! WOWWOWOWOWOWOOWOWOOWOWOW
Still love this tune as much now as the first time I heard it, in my eyes probably a collective of the best lyricists in the UK and still are the best MUCH LOVE FELLAS THANKS FOR YOUR GENIUSES
I live in USA. Yall are better than us at our own music. lyrics are far superior, your British beats are better. nobody is screaming about how much money you have, real hiphop lyrics. scratch is better. good job. least we still have underground. maybe.
Oh dude, if you would understand other european countries rap lyrics and the wordplay in it you would drop your jaw. Aint dissing, but english just cannot be that deep like some languages around here.
@@realbr1koo I'm not sure I agree. English has a capacity for technical expression due to its Germanic roots, whilst also having a fluidity that stems from its Romantic roots. Poetry is beautiful in all languages, but is specific. The Haiku is an incredibly emotive tool in Japan, but takes on a different character in English. Given the sheer heritage and proliferation of British (and later also American) poets of the past, and subsequently the assimilation of the heritage of spoken word and story telling from African-American immigrants that combines with a huge history of musical genres: Hip Hop, and indeed Rap, seems to take on a different quality that suits the English flow. If we all spoke like the queen, we might not have HighFocusTV, but since English is such a mixture of languages and culture we get Ed Scissor and Contact Play spitting the maddest bars in a way that could only be done in England.
@@samuelchuathecool Yes, i know, every language has its roots. I meant mainly the fact that English (compared to other languages) doesnt have a huge word-treasure, and it is also extremely simple built up. Thats why i said if english speakers would understand other european rap musicians they would be amazed of the capability of their languages and the almost endless possibilities of playing with words.
Think it was the who (that era at the least and very influential at the time like the who), who had their guitarist say on record that the only music with meaning about these days was UK hiphop, because nothing else really carried propper lyrical content anymore, this was a few years back granted but other than some grime artists i personally still agree with tht statement
My mother was a princess, my father was a king, Spring, summer, autumn and winter to spring, Blackbirds singing, I see God in all things, And as the earth spins it ends and begins again I'm gonna take a wager and say this is verse is shroom-inspired... Might be wrong but the way he talks about the divinity of the cycles in nature takes me right back to my heavier trips I had over the autumn Huge ups to Ed, BLNL nurtures the bridge between hip hop and poetry like no other album this year!
Whats so good about High Focus is you can always get into different artists at different times, proper feeling Scissor tongue's shit at the mo, Smaaaaaaaaaaaaaaash!
It's an honour to be a part of HighFocus
