I just hired a part time nanny after going back and forth for weeks about it. Tbh I really wish I could watch my baby full time, but it’s literally impossible for me to work and watch him. Do what you gotta do!

As a new mom with a newborn, in my opinion nanny’s are usually a better option than day care!! Safer usually as well. Having one doesn’t mean you are neglecting your kid or not being a parent. Only some people are pompous about it!! Lol. Looks like you have such a beautiful schedule, we LOVE the work you put into these videos!! ❣️ It’s not easy being a momma, but you make it look easy! 😉

I agree. Especially because arrow is so young. I have to put my baby in daycare which means he’ll get more colds and viruses. Plus there’s one career to four kids so my baby won’t get the 1+1 attention. Nannies are a much better option.

I'm due this spring and it's just been so encouraging and comforting to watch you become a mom, I've recommended your channel to other pregnant friends. Thank you for mentioning the importance of being a balanced individual. I recently began a single mom to my now 6 month old, which I was not expecting at all, and it's been almost impossible to find that balance. I'm blessed enough to have a very supportive family who watches her overnight while I work full time, but there is rarely a moment to myself. I've gotten together with friends a couple times and I always feel guilty. I think the guilt is even more intense for single mothers because I've taken on the role of being both of her parents in one. I feel like I have to work harder, give her more love and attention, all because her father isn't in her life anymore. I'm still no where near balance, but I understand it's something I need to strive for to be a well-rounded and healthy individual for my baby. It's so critical that we find this balance and don't shame ourselves or each other in the process! Great message and great content as always

Honestly nannies/daycares are amazing. I took 5 weeks off work before my due date (this Friday) and my son has been going to daycare for a couple of hours a day while I finish nesting and getting the house ready for his brother. And after the first couple of weeks of being home, my son will be going back to daycare while I’m on maternity leave. He will be 3 in March and toddlers thrive on a schedule! He learns so much and he gets to socialize everyday. He loves his teacher and always asks about her or when the next time he’s going to school. No mom guilt here 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you're going with a nanny or in home sitter rather than daycare, taking the time to find someone you click with can make a world of difference. I know this is a more rare case, but I ended up being a nanny for 7 years and to this day we consider each other family and talk several times a week. Childcare is stressful, but can also be a very positive experience ☺

I work from home also (medical billing/coding) after being a stay at home mom for 2 years, and my 5 year old daughter is home with me doing distance learning. My 2 year old son goes to my daughter's daycare now. I got so lucky with her daycare, she went there for 4 years so I know everyone. I even briefly worked there last year when they needed help temporarily. It is so hard to find someone you trust, but it's possible! You definitely have to find that work life/ mom life balance, and take time for yourself sometimes! ❤

    • @ashleybish0p
      @ashleybish0p 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi! This is a bit off topic, hope you don't mind. But I saw you work from home doing medical billing/coding. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 5 month old....so for now I'm just staying at home, unemployed while my boyfriend works. I sent a form off for more information about medical billing that was included in my take home bag from the hospital. Do you set your own hours? How do you like it? Where did you go to he trained? I've been trying to find a job from home for a while now but having 2 young children the hours havent worked out because I didn't have a babysitter/daycare/nanny option so I'd have to do it in the evenings. So, whenever I heard you can set your own hours I became very interested. I do have experience working as an assistant in a pharmacy and wanted to go back after having my 1st child, life just drastically changes after becoming a mother so it didnt happen:( sorry for all the questions!! Hope you have a great day!

Hey!! I went to a local tech school, but I took my certification test through the AAPC. They have online certification courses you can do, and I believe they offer payment plans. There are a lot of remote (work from home) opportunities out there for coders right now, and I found my job on Indeed back in November. Your hours depend on the company, but many of them you can absolutely set your own hours. I actually work for the University of Maryland, and live in Oklahoma. I work set hours, but that works for us. A couple jobs I interviewed for you could work whenever. Healthcare experience is definitely a plus, especially knowledge of medical terminology and A&P. I would start with AAPC and take a look at what they offer. 🙂

She’s too cute! I just had my baby on Dec 26th, and I’ve been binge watching your videos during my pregnancy. I thought your labour journey was crazy and amazed by how great you handled it, I secretly hoped my labour would be smooth and easy but boy it was intense and I didn’t even get to do skin to skin as I fainted the minute she popped out. Now I could totally relate to your pain! My baby came out from my tiny frame huge too, at 9lbs :) sending loves from Norway! And you do you momma!

Baby Arrow ❤️ so cute. Don’t feel shamed girl, Nannies are a great means of support and care for a baby. Allowing them to bond closely with someone else and have stable care in their life. You need to work in order to provide for your family as do a lot of mums, it’s 2021, women can have babies and be boss working mums as well. It’s sad you feel shamed to have a nanny, keep doing you girl 😍❤️ you’re a great mum keep going strong 💓💓

You made me feel better about the decision to put my daughter into daycare twice a week and I’m a full time mum (in the UK). It will give me time to get things done around the house plus help my husband with his business. And also like you say have a designated appointment day, it is so hard making appointments and making sure hubby or a family member can take over childcare for a few hours. I fear she has gotten clingy from being around me all the time so feel it will also be good social development for her. Once they start moving (mine is 16 months) and only nap once a day, it is so hard to get anything done. Love your videos and energy 💕

  • @snowdropbrisk
    @snowdropbrisk 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Awww she's moving so much! Yes they need to be entertained more as they get older! I'm struggling with just letting her do her own thing for a few mins so I can do something, anything. But I feel like I need to sit in front of her all the time. Maybe it'd a mommy issue haha. At least my husband is the one who cooks (and doing more cleaning lately) or else I have no idea how to DO ALL THE THINGS. That's also how I have time to watch you videos. Although now I'm thinking I should go clean something while baby is napping. Thanks for another entertaining video :) oh side note, please show more of the dogs!

Oh my goodness I am so glad you turned on your camera to make this video. I have been binge watching your videos and gaining so much wisdom and even becoming empowered by being a new mom. I have a seven week old little boy that I am so dearly in love with, but it is so hard to get things done being a new mom and trying to manage at home and being a wife. So we did the same thing, we got on care.com to look for a nanny, and we were looking for home daycare centers near our since I breast-feed as well.We finally settled on one that he can go to 1 to 2 days a week so that I can get stuff done like cooking cleaning appointments wash my hair you name it I feel so much more relief now that I have a little bit of help 1 to 2 days a week. you are so right about needing the help, when it’s just hubby and you.

Beautiful video and baba!! Im a Nanny in London. It’s by FAR the best job. I’ve been with my current family for 3 years. Before that I was staying with other families no longer then a year. It’s SO important for us to really bond and connect with the parents. For us to work our best we need to also feel like we are all on the same page with everything and extremely transparent. It’s upsetting when people get mad at a mother asking for help. I look after 3 kiddos (age 7,4 and 2 year old) and it is A LOT. The mother usually works from home too.
When I was job hunting for families (before this one) I don’t think that the parents really understood that what they pay will be my salary. It’s what I live off and in London it’s extremely expensive. When I was first interviewed and got to know the mother the first thing she said to me was you are not our worker. You are extended family that helps us. And that was the moment I knew that they’re great people and will treat me right.

Girl I tell you the most stressful part of being a parent was finding help. I couldn’t afford a legit nanny when I was working so I always had to deal with Weird people that just weren’t consistent. I started suffering from anxiety at work and it was horrible. Partly thankful for COVID because it just made me make the hard decision to stay at home with my kids . It wasn’t easy but it just made more sense in my life right now. It hard just know if you feel a ounce of doubt change the person it’s not worth risking something especially when it has to do with your child. Your doing amazing I love ❤️ watching your videos . Loved this video Brittany! I totally agree with what you said about us parents needing some help once in a while. It’s a tough job being a mama 24/7. Beautiful, but still tough lol. it’s been on my mind a while and I’m finally about to get some help a few days per week (if all works out) ❤️

I just quit my nanny job back in august after 10 years because I am now pregnant (my first baby!) and their dad is a surgeon working with covid patients, so I couldn’t continue taking that sort of risk - and let me tell you, it was absolutely heartbreaking to leave them. Nannies 100% become part of your family and love your children like they are their own. I miss “my” babies every single day!!
I think it’s so important when parents are able to recognize that they can’t do it all. They already sacrifice so much, you don’t need to sacrifice your ability to work and maintain your identity outside of being a parent, too.

Ever thought about daycare? I went from 8 months to 4 years old along with my two siblings. I loved it a had an amazing experience and many memories from it (it was an at home daycare). Since my parents both worked full time and my dad was also working on a PHD it was the only option and I highly recommend it! (Obviously times are tough, maybe in the future).

I love how transparent this video is and how you pay your nanny fairly for where you live and her qualifications. I am a professional nanny and hope the nanny picks your family as its so reassuring to leave your child with someone who you feel comfortable with!! :)

Whether or not I have a second child almost fully relies on if I can afford a nanny again, and my partner agrees lol. Biggest mistake I made as a parent was waiting 8 months to get one with my first. I was a full time mom and business owner and I was so stressed. Getting a nanny made it so I could truly enjoy the time I spent with my baby. For the people in the comments glorifying pushing through when you’ve acknowledged you need help, it’s not productive. If you need the help and can afford help, get it.

You’re absolutely right. My mom had to take care of me & my sister, as well as my disabled stepsister all by herself. My dad was working full-time and they didn’t know anybody in their area since they’d just moved there.
My mom pushed through and gave her best but forgot to take care of herself. She struggles with depression, and she used to be in a very bad place. Our relationship really suffered from that. But thankfully she’s gotten a lot better now and our relationship is great now.
You gotta put your own oxygen mask on first, cause being a happy mom is the best thing you can be for your kids and yourself.

Thank you for posting this! I work from home and baby is too young for daycare, and I live out of state from family so our childcare options are limited. I thought about getting a nanny for 1-3 days a week so that I can work without having to juggle around my husbands schedule. I’m excited to see it working for you so far!

Everyone’s situation is different, we have two full time working parents (me being primary $$ maker ☺️) so we use a daycare. It works for us but it’s not for everyone and we have always understood that. I love your views and real talk about everything!! You do you and what works best for your family!

I’m a pregnant SAHM and I nanny for my friend’s toddler two days a week for about 9 hours. There’s NOTHING wrong with getting help if you can afford it. Yes, motherhood involves sacrifices but it doesn’t mean you’re a slave to your children. My daughter loves her best toddler friend and their dynamic is like siblings. ❤️ I’m bilingual too!

Hey Brittany! I love your videos, so real, inspiring content and you totally rock 🙌🏻
I leave in Ireland 🇮🇪 and I am French 🇫🇷 so I didn’t get to see anyone from my family during my whole pregnancy and after birth because of the pandemic situation 🥺
My daughter Ophelia Rose is now 3 months old and my mum just met her for the first time !🤩
She arrived few days ago to spend 3 weeks with us and it is life saving for me !!!
So much done in my house in a couple of days already thanks to her !
So I totally get your nanny decision, enjoy and I hope she is going to pick you guys 💚
All the best for 2021 💋✨

I am currently a student and also a nanny of a little boy. The mom also works part time and I am there for the boy about 4-6 hours a week, so she has time to work, clean and also be a independent human. I think if you have the possibility to hire a nanny as a mom, you should. Great video 👍🏼

I see that comment is deleted now but it's really ok to ask for help. 5 kids is a lot and that's her choice to not ask for help. My mom had 4 kids and did it by herself and we are healthy and happy. If a mom needs help then that's fine too. Stop the mom shaming.

🙌🏼🙌🏼 you’re the best mama and TH-camr ever !!!🙌🏼🙌🏼 that comment before I’m 100% sure she’s not a mama 🤣🤣 she doesn’t understand the struggles that all mamas are going trough. Being a mom of course requires sacrifices every single day ! You’re sacrificing your body , your time , your mind and everything. Hiring someone is also a sacrifice you’re willing to spend time without your baby bc you have to work and also you need a break for yourself and there’s nothing to be ashamed of that . I wish I could hire someone. !! 😅 but we can’t afford it for the moment hahaha For all mommies there we got this 💪🏼

I think it’s great you have a nanny. I have to put my baby into daycare at 6 months. I’m a solo mum and have to go back to work. It breaks my heart that I have to do this.
If I had the option of a nanny I would absolutely use it because I think when babies are young it’s good for them to 1+1 attention.

Girl, I don't have a baby but I'm not going to lie, having a nanny is something that if I were a mom it would not be an easy thing to do, at least in my country it happens a lot that nanny hit babies :( That is why I think I would be afraid to hire a babysitter, but if I want to continue working at some point I will have to do it, I wish you the best with this nanny, your baby is the most precious thing for you and your husband, so I hope this nanny will be a great contribution and a great help to you 💕
