- After finding an underwater target on Day 1 while searching for missing person Janet Walsh, our team was let down to find out it was only a Yugo instead of Janet's silver and black 2018 Chevrolet Trax with the PA license plate number KTW-6007.
Janet was last seen on January 19, 2020, and has never been located.
Her husband took his own life just 60 days earlier...

CASE DETAILS
Walsh was last seen in Shaler Township, Pennsylvania on January 19, 2020. She had a scheduled therapy appointment the next afternoon but canceled it.
Her daughter was invited over for dinner on the evening of January 20.
When Walsh's daughter arrived at her mother's residence in the 100 block of Dolores Drive, Walsh's vehicle wasn't there. Walsh's cellular phone was inside the residence upstairs, but there was no sign of her. She has never been heard from again.
Walsh's car, a silver and black 2018 Chevrolet Trax with the Pennsylvania license plate number KTW-6007, has never been located. The circumstances of her case are unclear.
Friends of Janet and her husband from the fishing community reached out to AWP about this case and believe that Janet may have taken her own life after her husband took his own life just 60-days earlier.

I started watching last year, listening and learning myself.
Last week I noticed an elderly woman at the gas station looking confused. So I stopped and started to ask questions. It got dark early due to time change. She couldn’t read the street names and gotten confused and lost. My wife drover her car home as I followed. After we called her daughter. She only lived 8 miles from me. Thinking back watching your videos helped me look for the signs. That this nice women was in distress. Her family was so grateful to us to stop and help her. 10 minutes out of our day could of ended up very differently. Thanks Rob

Just as an update Darlene was found this morning 12/5/22 in Armstrong county. Police are waiting for official results from the ME office.
Future families are depending upon AWP no matter who is running it or who did what. The mission is bigger than one person.

This is one of my favorite TH-cam channels. I end up teary eyed a lot times recognizing the beautiful closure and peace that your team brings to so many families. Your movement and team is way bigger than any individual story. Love the work that you do.

I wonder if Janet and her late husband had a favourite lake that they used to spend time together at. Somewhere that held special memories for her. Just so many possibilities. You guys do such great work, it is so obvious from your films just how much you really care about trying to help these families. Long may you guys be able to carry on helping folks like you do.
Having been a retired federal law enforcement officer, regardless of what a person has been charged with, they are still considered innocent until proven guilty. I shall continue to watch and support this channel until a verdict is rendered.

It feels fishy since there was the huge backlash after Keily was found, like they're trying to end AWP because they found her. I have a cousin that was (I still believe falsely) accused and tried well after he turned 18, not back when his step-mother supposedly found out years before. She did it to damage his future, because nothing was really adding up about any of it.

Pittsburgh resident here, been watching you guys for over a year but had no idea you would ever be local. Wish I could have helped you in some way.
PS: a plane went down in the Monongahela y McKeesport many years ago and was supposedly never found, that would make for a good video as it would solve a more than half a decade mystery.

The plane that went down was actually removed by the military. Since it was a top secret mission, they did it under cover of darkness, and didn't let the populace know. So most people still think the plane is there, but the river is not deep enough for it there without being a hazard.

Thanks Doug for the warning to folks about how dangerous it is to do what you do. I'd like to point out that any wreck or obstruction will frequently have debris around it that can trap you. You are generally working in near zero visibility so it makes seeing those snags virtually impossible to detect. If a diver gets hung up he's screwed. That's why we use the buddy system, but with severely restricted visibility it at least triples the danger. God bless you and the team.

I do not like how everyone instantly gets negative. In America, all people are given their day in court. Until then, we cannot judge the situation fully. I pray the truth comes out either way, and this is settled too so such a good work can move on.
I, like many, have watched AWP since shortly after beginning of searches. Thank you Mr. Doug and fellow searcher for showing the maps and areas you cover. Worked in LE gathering intell and plotted operations with latitude and longitude. Thank you for continuing this vital team and not stopping, may you bring home more missing people for families! Watching Day 3 preview was absolutely ridiculous with all those cars!

Hey guys! Just wanted to remind you this should be your "why" that helps make the decision to keep pushing forward with this kind of work. There's such a greater purpose in all of this and it shouldn't dwindle because of a bump on the road...even a large bump. You guys all have special talents and bring a ton of knowledge. What's so strange is that she was having her daughter over for dinner, leaves on a whim without her phone....why would she do something on her own knowing that he daughter was coming over? Did she want her daughter to right away report her missing so she would be found sooner rather than later? Its weird!
If it was a life-ending self-harm scenario sadly this is all to common. To just up and leave in the middle of life.
Thats what I'm thinking. I wonder if she just meant to run to the near by store for last minute item and then an accident or crime happened between there.

It could be something as simple as having forgotten an item for dinner. A quick trip to the store...became a missing person.

Wow, I live in the area and this insane that I haven’t heard of this. It isn’t a big town, but this is insane to me. Doug I live on the Allegheny River and in the winter there are ice jams...when searching find out the ice conditions and when the jam broke up.
I started watching earlier this year and enjoy each of the search teams doing what you are.

If she'd invited her daughter for dinner, that doesn't sound like someone who is suicidal. It sounds like someone who dashed to the store to pick up a missing ingredient and then met with foul play or drove so sloppily she went off the road, perhaps into a pond instead of a river? Or just into a ravine that isn't visible to passersby.
I'm from this area lived here all my life and from where she was last seen there's no where she could have been doing that there's no Pawn she could have drove into and all the Creeks around here aren't deep enough and she would have drove into it she would have been visible

This was in my city... what a sad case 😢. Our rivers are so murky.. visibility is a zero most of the time. And those River move so fast!! It's deceiving... the current are stronger than you think!

It appears some questions concerning a jump to judgment, without assuming not everyone tells the truth, has had a very negative effect on finding missing people. My heart bleeds for those who were on the list to find their loved one. I watch every new video posted ASAP hoping to continue to support this team/channel.

Wow so close to home! I live outside of Pittsburgh, one county over. Went to University of Pittsburgh (Pitt). Lived in Shaler. Bounced all around, never more than an hour away. Good luck AWP!!!

My dive instructor was a retired rescue diver from Cincinnati Ohio . He retired because the Ohio river had strong currents, debris, zero visibility and extremely dangerous. Be safe gentleman. You guys are awesome for what you are doing.
Did she have a special place she and her husband visited together? Since she was so devastated and wanted to end her life maybe she went to a familiar place that she felt at peace and close to her husband.
