Say what you might about Yoshitsugu Matsuoka being typecast (Seirei Gensouku, Quintessential Quintuplets, Absolute Duo, Saekano, Food Wars, Trinity Seven...); but damn if Kirito can't sell a battle cry.
This is why I can't wait for AI to be used properly as a dubbing tool. Being able to adjust mouth movements to add frames or change timing will be a great boon for english VAs. The biggest issue with most dubs is that they're unable to utilized the space as effectively in most shows, making the acting feel stagnant compared to subs. Sure, there's a few exceptions, like jin woo in solo leveling, or FMAB in general, but it's rare.
This series is really good, despite what some say about the title. This Anime series is very enjoyable, and of course, this is the best fight in it so far :D

Guys please tell me I'm not the only one who's noticing that this isnt just an epic fight scene but that it's a testiment to what true battle INSTINCTS should look like. Bell uses one knife to injure the sword arm, steals it, then breaks it as a distraction to get in close, then using the final stab to infuse the minotaur with a spell for a brutal and decisive finish. PERFECT battle instincts! I love Aiz but if it were her up there doing it, even at Bell's level, she would just be trying to hit and not get hit and just use everything in her arsenal. That's not battle instinct, that's just performance level.
And its like, when Loki’s members were narrating his actions, Bell was “alive” in this scene, it seems that he was thinking how to tear that damn flesh by intentionally using his knife and ottar’s sword as distractions. The anime had shown the content of the light novel.
In fact, the bell is 5 times faster than the minotaur, in the novel it is said that this is the reason why it survived the enemy that did not surpass in strength and resistance ...
Probably one of the best scenes in the show. Sure, we see this a lot in Anime, but in the context of the show, it's the first time we see him do something amazing, and we realize how difficult, it was. We also had followed Bell's journey, and seeing how far he had come from his weak beginnings, despite his victory in this encounter also involving luck.

Even though we have 3 seasons now (and i want a fourth) this fight is still the best for me. The atmosphere, the tension, the fact that Bell is just one misstep from death, is on a whole other level. Other fights have been great, but the stakes for this one was just so high, especially with him overcoming his trauma
actually, this made him level up, prior to this fight, his outings to the dungeon plus the training of aiz was what pushed him to rank S in most stats except magic that was B rank, def A rank and agi SS rank, all else S, since to upgrade the god needs to do the ritual, the novel is pretty good since anime also skipped a lot of important things, like how gods meet up regularly to decide on matters and then nicknames, where the first time an adventurer gets lv 2 they give the person a chuuni name to embarass them as a baptism to other gods, or the true reason why Freya is so interested in Bell and how more explicit it is her helping him, to a point that currently in the novel, she has given Bell a ton more of stuff compared to hestia

@@sivabalanj yeah, the stats basically are simple in fact, take for example how to improve certain parameters in skyrim, the more you do certain actions, the more they go up but at certain thresholds it becomes more harder, like, to improve defense, you need to tank hits, bell focuses on agility and dexterity, hence why his defense its lower and he got magic fairly late so it came to his rank being B, as they level up, the stats go back to 0, but the ones frm the previous level go to a cummulative state, like Agi:0(+1000) or the like, and the gods meeting in the anime isnt shown, but its important since in the ones related to bell Freya acts on them, in the first one for example, when they decide on bell nickname, freya opposed to many of them, hence he got a plainer and simpler one, and later she implies to hestia that she is going after bell, plus that the reason why Freya is so interested in bell is due to her special ability that lets her see the state of the souls of the people, in her eyes Bell soul is unusually crystal clear, something that fascinates her and so she wants to refine that soul more and more, hence how she forced the minatour fight, to make bell go over his trauma, the magic so he can have another resource, and later even more background stuff, even, during the aiz training, during the 3rd or 4th day, aiz and bell are attacked by freya lackeys, aiz is put off due to another level 6 while bell fights a bunch of level 1s so to test his improvement, something anime didnt show

A few years ago I happened to stumble upon a clip of the full fight of Bell vs the Minotaur on my youtube feed. Instantly had to watch the first season and Sword of Oratoria. I'm glad season 2 is almost upon us.
He's just a low Level 1. His armor is all but shattered, landing 1 direct hit on him means an instant death. His knife isn't long enough to reach any of the minotaur's vital organs. He only has a basic fire bolt spell. His strength is so low he wasn't able to cause any significant damage to the minotaur even with his blade. He is all destined to lose in that fight. And yet, he pressed on fighting like a cornered underdog against a lion. That is what earns him the title of a hero. Someone who pressed on knowing all odds are against him.
Honestly i was avoiding this anime because i let my self be misguided by the name, until I don't know why I decided to give it a chance, and Oh Sh*t! I was a fool!! I watched the entire 3 seasons in a week!! I fell in love with the story, the music and the character development, I can't wait for S4!! By the way loved the mashup!!

One of my favorite anime because of the emotion and soundtracks put into it. Sadly season 2 and 3 sucks because of the director change. You can disagree with me on that part but as a reader, this anime could've been legendary if it was adapted faithfully like in the novels. No other book had kept me reading up to 3AM, crying and sometimes cheering except for this one
Forget the 2nd season, even in the novels its kinda weak. 3rd season, though many omitted parts is still good and shows how Bell becomes a heretic. The 4th season is very good so far. Very little changes from the LN. Despair will now descend unto them.
There's this 10 min version of the full fight and interaction between the characters that I've watched over 20 times on another channel. I like this. But i kinda like that more.

Honestly i was avoiding this anime because i let my self be misguided by the name, until I don't know why I decided to give it a chance, and Oh Sh*t! I was a fool!! I watched the entire 3 seasons in a week!! I fell in love with the story, the music and the character development, I can't wait for S4!! By the way loved the mashup!!

Is it just me or does this fight remind anyone of Kirito vs Gleam eyes fight in SAO. Even the voice actor is same for Bell and Kirito. The scream gives me chills every time !!

Man one of the best hand to hand fights i have ever seen
One of my favorite anime because of the emotion and soundtracks put into it. Sadly season 2 and 3 sucks because of the director change. You can disagree with me on that part but as a reader, this anime could've been legendary if it was adapted faithfully like in the novels. No other book had kept me reading up to 3AM, crying and sometimes cheering except for this one

Forget the 2nd season, even in the novels its kinda weak. 3rd season, though many omitted parts is still good and shows how Bell becomes a heretic. The 4th season is very good so far. Very little changes from the LN. Despair will now descend unto them.
There's this 10 min version of the full fight and interaction between the characters that I've watched over 20 times on another channel. I like this. But i kinda like that more.
