Matt’s always talking about getting the company to the next level, this is the start of a whole new level for the garage and home. I hope the internal saying at OG is “ain’t nobody else doing this shit” because no one else is.
We're just finishing our new home with the ZIP System R-9. When properly taped and finished the air sealing and insulation is very impressive. Its 6800sqft without the garage and have and ACH of 1.2 on the blower door test prior to drywall. We've since sealed up some weak areas we caught and are hoping for an ACH of
My dishwasher, frig, induction cooktop and washer/dryer are all Miele. They make amazing stuff. Also used Zip and Advantech in my house build, which turned out great.
pretty cool to see my local Forest Products Distributors. They have a large yard on the edge of town here in Rapid City, SD. They have several more yards across the country but they are headquartered here, one of my friends dad is an executive with the company. He built an incredible cabin near Deadwood with almost entirely FPD timber and products. That home has some of the most amazing beam work ive ever seen
The AIA annual convention includes a trade show like this that’s just massive. It’s insane the variety of all different types of products out there for buildings. So much great design out there right now.
Menards is more of a Midwest thing. Essentially a Home Depot or Lowes but also carries a few groceries. Personally think their master force brand cabinets are the best budget friendly garage cabinets. Better than new age that everyone seems to love.
man I need to rewatch this a few times and check some of these things out. really awesome. True makes commercial freezers for the restaurant industry, my parents have one they have owned for 15 years, they are super legit. Most of the glass cases you see at restaurants with coke or Pepsi in them are either true or beverage air.
I am from Germany originally, but my dad in the US has a Liebherr refrigerator. Only because my mom's (she lives in Germany) Liebherr refrigerator (built-in) never had any issues. Neither does my mom's Miele kitchen, vacuums or waschine machines. We are getting her a new kitchen this summer and again only from Miele/ Liebherr. In my past 16years in the US, I never really came across Liebherr a lot and only in the recent 5years. I think our basement Liebherr fridge is probably 20years old it still runs, nothing wrong with it. It's a little to loud and doesn't have the new accessories (LED lights, etc.).
Matt is like a kid in a candy store at this show...I would be to. Meanwhile we are building a new build with Lennar like damn I need to up my game BIG TIME. 😬😆
Matt my parents have a Navien propane unit at their house it’s not a bad unit for ondemand water heater actually was sort of hard to program the time cycles and heat pump I was able to help my dad figure it out. But what you gotta do every couple years is clean the unit out with some vinegar and you can prolong its life quite significantly.
Matt, we did a 60” The Galley Sink in our new kitchen with two faucets. Absolutely love it. Especially all the accessories you can get. Highly endorse it.
Hey Matt, lotta cool stuff it’s like I went back in time 18 months ago everybody wearing a mask I can’t believe people think they actually do something. I applaud you for dealing with all that if I was building a house I would definitely go regardless hope there’s another video of your second day have a good one.
For your hot water I would not suggest Navien (Made in South Korea) but go with a Bosch. Navien lasts only like 5 years and you will have a lot of problems.
@@peterjohnson8631 haha pretty sweet huh? I have a 2nd fridge in the garage cause I have nowhere else to put it. We use it for drinks and back stock. If I ever build a house or move to a bigger house we will definitely make sure there is a place inside.
Electrolux used to be an awesome vacuum cleaner actually my great grandfather helped design a special nozzle for them back in the early 30s and 40s he used to be a salesman with them. We still have a vacuum cleaner in the family that is Electrolux and the dang thing still works from the 50s
Lol I know the feeling. I’m in Sacramento at the Mosquito and Vector Association of CA. I had listened to 20 talks and presentations to battle virus here in CA. My brain is fried.
Matt what did you think of the Aquor system vs prier for both exterior walls and for inside the garage for bucket filler. My only worry with the Aquor system is needing the attachment to get water every time.
I would pass on the Boos block as there are some real craftsman that make cutting boards that are truly works of art in the same price range; you could have your logo inlaid in a piece if you wanted.
Hey Matt. I was wondering if ASSA ABLOY was present at the show specifically the EMTEK branch, they make great hardware for doors, cabinets, and bathrooms. We install these all the time in high end homes here in SoCal.👍
masks don't even bother me that much, wanted to go to a similar type show here in Chicago and they required vaccine passport which was a joke. Now I have to go to another state to find a similar type of show that I can go to.

Your next purchase should be one of their canister vacuums

Miele washer/dryers are top notch, there’s a reason private yachts generally use them
8:57 The way he said “you can put all your drugs and passports…” I think this guy might have a past 😆
Holy smokes, that's nuts
Matt, oh my god i've taken so many notes... TheGalley, True Fridges, Kolbe windows, Aquor water systems, Unilux... Very cool
I liked the doors

GRASS hinges are without a doubt the best on the market!
I would geek out in a place like that
Cool stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for letting us tag along, very cool stuff.
Did you meet up with matt risinger while you’re there? He’ll probably have some tips on your new house since he just finished his.
They should definitely hook up for a build series.
Matt, that true green and gold refrigerator would look great in the garage next to the “gentleman’s gt3” 🤣😉

I see a lot of junk
was thinking the same thing, people go crazy over this stuff now but wait 10 years when it will all be broken and cost thousands to repair.
Same goes for domotics. All very nice, but try to find replacements for the system in 15 years…
Yeah definitely need a phone charger in my bathroom mirror

Those Drutex doors are freaking legit.
I love the new True residential line, way better than sub zero IMO
Geberit makes the most legit drains and toilets

There are some Japanese cutting board
They are synthetic and supposedly keep your knifes sharper for longer
What was the name of the DIY closet melamine company?
Those hose bibs from Aquor were sick but I know I'd lose the attachment to turn it on :D
Damn how can you even think in that place? There’s so much going on and way too many people.
Hey Matt. I was wondering if ASSA ABLOY was present at the show specifically the EMTEK branch, they make great hardware for doors, cabinets, and bathrooms. We install these all the time in high end homes here in SoCal.👍
ASSA ABLOY owns a crap ton of brands. We spec their stuff all the time on commercial construction.
Yes the were. I saw an Instagramer post a picture of them visiting the Emtek booth.
Dang wish I would have bumped into you there. Awesome show!
That septic tank got me fired up lol
Really looking forward to you getting into this area. Love it
That closet system sounded very good, what's the brand?
Alusso closets by Adornus cabinetry
90% of things there are unneeded, not even necessary. And completely overpriced. For a normal consumer.
Agreed. The best thing to discover is minimalism/essentialism-but that’s a whole other topic
did you forget Matt's not a normal consumer?
@@peterjohnson8631 well these trade shows aren't really aimed at normal consumers.
@@vongdong10 THen what are they for? lol Throw away $?

Boos butcher blocks made in my home town of Effingham Ill.
Wow, never knew that a mining and excavation equipment company also makes kitchen equipment. Pretty interesting spread of products.
Do u think the ego 530 is powerful enough to dry a car
Works but not the best
Forget boos for block, check out the board smith. Much better quality
It is amazing. But it is not easy for our windows and doors to be showed there.
Who was that closet company near the end of the video? Looks like top quality.
It's a brand called Baucci. I'll have more on it soon when I use it to do my own closets.
When you where at rev a shelf what did you say was superior. You can’t tell what your saying

All German. All end with "E". Sounds like Sheila. From what I've read.
OMG my favorite

No on the black fridge.

Walk in .. masks … walk out. Screw that nonsense.
Mine came off about 10 steps in. It was funny to see 90 percent had them on in the morning, then 10 percent had them on by the end.
