The Maccabi supporters did more than that. They dawned masks at CS, threatened a journalist, threw rocks, planks and metal pipes, spat on and threw beer at innocent bystanders, glorified ge no ci de, ra pe and the ki ll ing of children among other things. Do you think this shouldn't provoke a response from the Amsterdammers? Was that response sought so the Israeli's could do what they are now known for; commit a crime and play the victim? There is only one side to a story and that is the truth.
You are of course entirely wrong. Firstly, the horrible chants were racist. Secondly, the Maccabi hooligans not only sang racist songs, but they initiated physical violence against Dutch citizens.
There's plenty of footage that shows this, some of which was even shown in the mainstream media, although they tried to claim it showed people attacking Israelis, and claiming it was the Israelis that were just set upon our of the blue, in other words, with no context. One or two outlets even pulled some of the footage when it came to light it was contrary to their narrative.
The fact is, Maccabi thugs were throwing their weight around, being racist and physically attacking people, and Dutch citizens rightly defended themselves.

Here are a few facts for you:
Defending yourself is not a group of rabid foaming at the mouth Bontkraagjes kicking/punching/ beating individuals who are on the ground. Nor is it demanding to see passports and forcing individuals to say "free Palestine".
