Yes, it's better as a tv series for book adaptations as it allows a more in depth storyline for us fans. But, if a movie is done right, it would give more revenue like the Harry Potter who by the way got a whopping total of $9.5 billions for all its movies that allows bigger budget for a spectacular action sequences and storyline. Tv series has to comply with a certain budget that may lead to less than stellar CGI moments and cut corners in some aspect that makes it comical which makes it hard to watch. The main reason for the PJO movie failure is due to no co-op between the author and director during production as well it is not as well known like Harry Potter novel. I have high hopes for this show but i already see some glaring issues that people point out that makes me fear its future. Most tv shows got a good start, then it started to decline midway then got cancelled. Pray that this PJ series makes it to the end and gets better for each season whom Disney still does not give any official news for renewal.

Oh my God, this was my childhood too. I read all the books and even saw the movies (even if, in my opinion, they kinda sucked but I still watched it). So when I saw that this was coming out this week I was so excited! I'm glad that Rick actually worked on this, and it came out so good. It took me back to my childhood. I literally had tears in my eyes.

so fucking happy you guys covered this ive been waiting for this show for years. first book series i ever got obsessed with, which as a person with special interests is a huge deal!
the only problem i have is the pacing and the tendency to info dump in the dialogue. they’re already on their way to camp half-blood when they vomit all the info about it that percy and the audience could have found out once he got there five minutes later, but i know that the books do the exact same thing so im happy for the fans
Yeah the pacing was definitely the main problem for me, it’s a little too quick. I think that’s probably due to their attempt at trying to appeal to the kids as much as the young adults that grew up on the material. But I still feel they’ve been doing it right for the most part so far.
As a die-hard fan of the Riordan books I absolutely loved the pilot & the second epiosde was absolutely perfect 🫶 I'm in love with Dior & Charles in their roles & Walker is literally Percy i can't- his chemistry with everyone from Virginia (his mom) to Aryan to Jason as Mr.D All of IT FELT PERFECT I LOVE THAT GUY 😭😭 the editing was a lil goofy tho,those cuts to the black screen was jus...idk(ALSO THE MINATOUR DID WEAR A BOXER IN THE BOOK TOO 💀) the pure joy on Jo's face is beautiful & relateable man 😭

Never read the books, but I saw the movies. But still, I can feel a sense of love for the original material here. It's not perfect, but I think it's good for what it is. Definitely keep watching

i think that type of stuff flows better in books, especially with first person narration breaking it up, so it can get a little clunky in a show.
