I'm supposed to get a link to the show that aired on the 8th, would love a listen. When they introduced me, there was another guy talking about bees, just caught the very tail end.
92nd! GOOD AFTERNOON JP! At least it isn’t raining like the last video I watched! It was in a shed you had been to at least 3 times. Schawee made you use your box, and he showed up right before you found the queen. Then he sat in the screen porch with the lady of the house and her grandson. Roger in Pierre South Dakota
JP, I admire your ability to work the bees in a removal. I've done three now and if I hadn't had my veil and gloves and jacket I might be dead now. LOL Several hundred stingers in gloves and jacket and some waited till I finally took of my veil and got me then. 20 stings in all through my suit.
I'm glad you mentioned that bees had been there before, but clearly their re-inhabitance not prevented. I always instruct folks to stuff the cavity with insulation or whatever, and of course seal the exterior, but if they don't, what can you do? Remove more! I just did a removal today, where two months ago I told the lady to patch up her siding or she'd get more bees. Well she didn't fix it, and I was right!
3:40 when that comb section started to go, I freaked a little~ XD But you caught it! Nice save~ I love what you do, JP, and to a few folks I've met who like bees and are interested in beekeeping, I always refer them to your videos~ ^_^ Keep doing what you do~
Very interesting , thank you JP for sharing your job with us on TH-cam. The respect and skill you have with the bees is very fascinating and beautiful to watch, makes me consider doing a little bee-keeping myself in the future.
Hi JP, I'm from Arizona, home of the AHB's. I am sure I am not the only one who would want to hear at the end of each of your videos how many stings you got that day. Thanks again, Keith
Right on! I haven't seen one with that dark of tail. All of mine generally have golden to dark yellow color. Thanks again for posting all of your videos. I have learned a ton from ya. Have a good day. Dave "blueblood"
Check out 7:21 JP. I think I saw the queen slip right over the top right of the last piece of comb you remove and pull closer to camera. She has a dark tail. Maybe I am wrong but she looked and moved like a queen does. That is what caught my eye, sneaky and fast.
Hah I saw her first 7:19 top right corner, you can call me eagle eyes now. She's a pointy one! JP been watching all your vids. Really hoping to get some free bees this year from swarms or cutouts. Bought a package and a nuc last year and both absconded. The package left because the bottom of my TBH was screened with gutter screen and a ton of bees got trapped in it. The nuc I am not sure but I think I gave them too much space. May have been the fact that my box was cedar idk. Also tons of rain, they came from Georgia too. So here in Indianapolis it must have been too cold.
How do you get the queen into the box ? I have tried it once and the queen went back into its hive and never came out again ... Same happened the second time ...
Couldn't shake a swarm off of a big speaker today, Have you ever run into trouble with magnets before? 3 swarms captured successfully in the past 2 weeks until this one.
Holger Junge any bee vac that is user & bee friendly is the best. I have been using the Colorado Bee rescue bee vac now for the last 4 years I wanna say & really like it!
Cool, I think it would be really awesome to be a bee keeper but I would be really scared. Although I kind of am sorry for you when you have to get aggressive bees out because they sting.
This is a great video! I appreciate seeing the process without the bee vac. I linked this video of yours at 10:00 in our recent bee rescue video (we did use a homemade bucket bee vac, though): th-cam.com/video/trPn7XwfcIk/w-d-xo.html
I watched your video & you did a great job but if possible start your removals much earlier in the day. There’s no reason to do this after dark unless you have no choice in the matter & you’ll find bees are generally much friendlier during daylight overs. You seem like a real sweetheart, best wishes in your beekeeping/bee removal endeavors! 👍🐝
great video.....in this video how many brood boxes did you fill up and would you keep them all in one hive or spilt them up and get another queen maybe? so you can hive two separate hives?? here is the hive on my fence rail in pasture I'm thinking of doing a cut out on. I was going to cut comb and rubber band onto an empty frame. What you think? I just hope I can find the queen...thanks!! th-cam.com/video/nmeCJEgexQY/w-d-xo.html
I put these in a deep initially. It's been 3 years so I can't recall all the particulars of what happened next I definitely could have split these into two nucs if I wanted to as the timing was right. I can't tell a whole lot from your video but from what I believe I gathered they would be a good candidate for a nuc. If you have more footage I'd be willing to have a look.
I got here because of Opie and Norton on Sirius 206!! Norton can't stop talking about you, and it was nice to hear you on the radio.

Classic JP video - no vacuum. All he has are his hands, a queen cage, and some smoke. But he pulls it off gracefully. Thanks for sharing Beeman. ☺️

+Alexis Grunden thank you so much, appreciate that!
Yeah, I saw that comb slip too! Sometimes beekeeping is a lot of luck. :)
Lovely cut out! You make them seem so easy. Thanks for posting. Don't stop there great!!!
Love to watch you work, JP. You make it look easy.
Thanks Mike

Thank you for taking the time to edit such a nice video. Cool stuff.
Awesome work as usual; and without a suit. Being in AZ I never go without a suit. Thanks for video!
Great video!..As a VERY new beekeeper I really enjoyed watching this capture.
Another great video JP. Love watching and learning form your videos.
I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for taking the extra time and effort to share your experience. And I love the music.
I like all bees pretty much. Ive removed bumbles, Carpenter bees are solitary insects.

@ David Scott Hey man, great spot! It may have taken me a while to catch that! That is indeed her at the 7:21 mark.
You da man!
...JP
I like the way this was done. With no vacuuming. What do you charge to remove bee's from a home? Before they tear down the house?
You are the bee removal master and a whole lot more. Thanks for a great vid!

It's great the way you save the hive. Honey bee's are incredibly useful little dudes. Hope they went to a good home lol.
vtrmcs They always go to a good home, their dudettes actually :-)

+i5usko Best of luck to you this upcoming season "Eagle Eyes!" :-))
Good job JP. Does your service include the carpentry afterwards, putting things back like there were?
David Harris I offer repairs on just about every job.
Very nice work! You're a real pro! Thanks for sharing!
JP what will happen with the bees that were left behind in the rafters? Will they not try to recreate a colony?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE
They should start a new reality show on tv. JP The Bee Whisperer.LOL
Hey J.P. I always wondered what is being burned inside the smoker?
steve carraway, where are you located?
...JP
David Scott has good eyes, I did not see her until he pointed her out, at the 7:21 point.
How do you get the queen into the box ? I have tried it once and the queen went back into its hive and never came out again ... Same happened the second time ...
There is interest in doing a show! Just waiting for all the pieces to come together.
...JP
Enjoyed this so much! Thank you!
Beautiful!
Awesome Video!
I noticed you have your truck lettered for bee removal. Do you do this professionally and what do you charge for a swarm call vs cutout?
Beekeeping is so interesting
Very educational, thank you.
Nicely done!
Wait do you also work with large black bees to
Couldn't shake a swarm off of a big speaker today, Have you ever run into trouble with magnets before? 3 swarms captured successfully in the past 2 weeks until this one.
Great video
what bee vac is the best? love your videos. thanks.

Hi there sorry i dont have volume to hear! What did you use to tie the comb in the frame?
Rubber bands
JP what is the name of that music you're using in this video and where can I get it?
Madiksnana David Helpling “Between Green & Blue.” From the album End Of An Era.
Madiksnana the second song is by Explosions In The Sky titled “Your Hand In Mine.” From the album The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place.
Thank you! I found it! I love End of an Era. Great mood music!
What if you Seal all areas to keep the bees from getting to the nest would that stop them
Jerry Olson stop them from?
Continue with your thought process.

Getting ready to get my bees by Saturday
Are you using rubber bands to attach the comb to the frames?
Jim Schultz yes
thanks
Jim Schultz 👍
lol dude, you're nuts. how many stings did you get that day? how long do you suppose those bees were there?
+Oldstuff Man maybe three, four months. Not many stings, don't remember how many exactly though.
If you want a good laugh turn Closed Captions on.
Jackson Youngman lol man, that is hysterical!!!
Does a bee vac kill the bees ?
A good bee vac does not kill the bees. I helped with the design of the Colorado bee rescue bee vac, now available through Better Bee.
I wonder what he does with the small remainder of bees that are in the ceiling? Just let em go?
nice job man!
Yo man great video 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 you are the fucking bee master oh yea go saints
+gunhoe34 Lol, thanks & yes, Geaux Saints!
Wow that huge
I guess you have to get a repair man to get you back to normal again after any type of bee removal
I offer repairs on most all jobs, I do some myself & have contractor friends who assist me as well
Wow!

That's not the first hive removal from that spot, either.
Nope

that was awesome, go NOLA
