Poor Super Mutants. Began existence as test subjects, and left existence as test subjects. 😞
Hahaha 😅
And they're forever stuck in a loophole those poor muties 😢
I love that Turtle knows exactly how damage per bullet is calculated. What would we do without him? Thank you Turtle!
We would play the game a less anal way… Game is easy anyways when you level up. A tiny difference between dps isn’t gonna make any difference.
@@seccosec It definitely is, I hate having to face bullet sponge enemies that you face when you're above level 50
True damage resistance is determined by your network speed/latency 😅
😂😂😂😂😂
haha well said
And your AP
A low level player had Groll a fixer (antiarmor 50/25) in his vendor for 1k cuz it was broken, I bought it n fixed it for him n give it back. I kinda Educated him about how it’s fixable n other stuff, at the end he was Grateful, long story short Generosity goes along way✌️
That player owes you for life now! ;)
Should’ve kept it
Definitely doing your part to keep the 76 community something special. I salute you! I do similar things for new players also.
Nice. I gave a rando commando 120 level a Quad FFR +15 handmade. They were pretty happy about that. I give away god rolls from time to time. I'm kinda into using non god roll stuff now just to try new things.
@@KingDusk278 Way to miss the point...
For me, I only like anti-armor on guns with a larger magazine by default(like Elder's Mark and gatling/minigun style weapons for heavy gunner). The base magazines for rifles are just too small for me to enjoy running and gunning with. I've been tempted to try and roll Plasma Casters again as well for a quad/hit or crit chance/less AP cost version on boss fights since I find myself reloading often at Eviction Notice or the nuke boss events. The 80+ magazines on rifles have spoiled me lol
YEah, you can make up for not having damage legendary effects in several other ways.
Thank you for this, you have just saved me 3 points that I can redistribute elsewhere. I am not the greatest with numbers so didn't realise there was no point in having Tank Killer with my AA Fixer.
for boss fighting, quad fixer is superior than other roll of fixer
but what if said boss is dead from sheer dps by the time you have to reload? then the bloodied fixer is best
@Doc_Death_22 i dont know what monster youre talking about, but if you can kill it in less than one clip, then its not a Boss.
@@LordRambo first of all, buffs exist, second of all, im talking about scorchbeast queens, and behemoths
@@marc37921 bold of you to assume that it hasnt been done before
@@marc37921 besides that though, lets not get too aggressive, im not accusing you of being aggressive i just dont want this to escalate further
For personal reasons, I run a stealth armor, full health, no mutations, all commando perks build. I kept re-rolling my Fixer's on my characters and one finally got the AA/Rep 15AP on kill/-25AP cost. I take him out when I just want to kill like mad. I am glad to see I can dump Tank Killer and try other tweaks on my build. He has been max scrip for a while now so I think I will roll Fixers till I get a Quad to add as a second weapon. Thank you for the detailed work Turtle! I also might finally get some legendary perks going with some extra stars. Yeah, folks, I just never chase max/meta in any game.
Good info. Angry Turtle should be an official firearms expert and training coach. Ideally, your character of Angry Turtle should be put into the Fallout 76 game / sim as either a side quest or reoccurring character, and once a player gets training on certain weapons or making certain weapons, by Angry Turtle, then the player should get extra bonus buffs for at least a week for that particular weapon or item crafted. The side quest of training is like real world skills improvement, so it may help with the immersion of Fallout 76.
i like quad because i dont like reload
if use bloodied or anti armor,i rather have 15 reload 3rd star and a quick mag instead perforating mag
I have my 3 main weapons, QE25 Handmade, Q2525 Pipe Rifle and Q2525 Submachine Gun.
Elders mark is awesome cause you can run the other prefixes while still having a large mag
I got an Enclave plasma with quad, but with a mod I have, its ammo goes up to around 60 rounds when it before only had 9 rounds strangly.
Thank you Professor Turtle!
What would be amazing is if all of this information (including the formulas) were made available on the Wiki. I used to play a lot of Warframe and you can look up all of the damage mechanics on the Wiki, including all of the calculation formulas.
when it comes to the enclave plasma with flamer mod , I had a quad faster , re rolled it today and on my third roll got an antiarmour , 25 ,25 . would you say its a keeper>?? would I benefit more from keeping tank killer or removing it and adding something else like maxing out better criticals? Also I have a quad , 25 , 25 fixer but it does not do as much damage per bullet as my bloodied 25 25 fixer. what am I missing out here??
How about the enclave plasma with aligned auto? It's fun and seems to kill just as fast as what the fixer is doing.
Wish you'd make a similar vid for melee weps. Compare bloodied, anti-armor, junkie/aristocrat with incisor on.
Awesome. Gotta get me a quad now. Thanks Turtle!
i have a fixer that is anti armor/ %50 chance to hit in vats/ %15 bonus vats crit charge. the thing is nothing but crit shots, its hard to keep up with the crit shots. if i made a vats build this weapon would be insane. considering im a full health heavy build and im still using this weapon should tell you something.
I have a Quad, 50% vats hit chance and 15% bonus crit charge. It's awesome.
To make keeping up with crits easier just hold down your crit button instead of trying to spam press it. Holding it down will fire the crit as soon as its ready every time.
I play on XBox, that Y button is smashed😊
A gun has to be measured not only by numbers but overall use like speedrunning , boss fights or casual use. Racking up a larger number for dmg or dps on a build is nice but not if it’s practical , a quad by far is more practical because of the fact you can either stay in vats or when you lose vats you can still track and aim headshots until your vats is refilled , on another note is long time sustainability like how much ammo does it use ? Is it too strong thag it might take a nerf in the future and if your build is popular it may be more easier to find a market for your ammo resources on that particular build. I remember when the fixer was the forgotten cousin of the handmade. Nobody sold .45 as much so it was next to none for running anything in .45 when the player market was flooded in 5.56 but nowadays it is completely different 😂
Quad is great but quad faster fire rate is the ultimate.
But for scorched earth its all about limb damage and the tormentor card. I feel like i can cripple a wing in seconds which is a game changer.
Best daily driver is my plasma caster and enclave flamer. same ammo and I get 2200 damage crits with the plasma caster it just needs the extra vats accuracy star otherwise the missed shots become a pain
Quad crit damage > quad ffr
Specially on railway as it hits very hard ....
@@shawnlee5482agreed with rails but not for fixer
@mrmakeithappen600 fixer is weak conpare to fixer so yeah crit damage and ffr are even ....
But on railway is obvious...crit goes my damage of weapon so a 2,000-2500 weapon per bullet will hit hard with crit

I have a Q25ffr fixer and a bloodied 50c fixer. For mob killing the bloodied 50c is better in almost every way
Another in-depth investigation and presentation from the green horny guy. Thanks Turtle. Very very interesting. I have a ton of fun with my quad explosive choo choo. It does mow down the bosses with not too much fuss. Of course with so many perks giving a bonus for just hitting or killing the target, it makes sense that the more rounds you can pump out in the shortest time is going to make those perks worth it.
Blood Elders Mark should have more pure DPS in Boss fights. It has faster fire rate and bigger ammo capacity on it's own. And with tank killer its 96% armor pen. The reload speed does not matter that match. It feels more like a small machine gun. Would be cool if we had some testing area like in Overwatch. Big thanks Turtle for trying to understand Bethesda math and explain it!
EMs damage drop off is stupid. QFFR25v fixers/handmades are way better tbh
thats NOT how anti armor works it doesn't stack like that ur not getting 96% armor penetration, funny that angry turtle hearts all the replies because he has a video explaining exactly how anti armor perks work. it doesn't stack like that it also has a cap, should check out turtles video on it.
@@Ruthless9o7wrong, with EM it’s additive
i was wondering a few days ago if bloodied is good for boss fight. or i should go for AA prime. this explains it. Thank You Turtle! :D
I love the video thx angry turtle, Could I ask if you could check out Vlad Armstrong's most recent video about the Science of Armor Penetration? Vlad goes in depth with it and I would love to know your opinion about if he is 100% right or if he missed anything/got numbers wrong.
he missed all the scenarios where you are hitting effective 100% armour pen
@@AngryTurtle thanks for checking for me, I had another question would Anti Armor still be better than Bloodied for the Enclave Plasma Flamer? Correct me if im wrong but it looked like Bloodied does better than AA in your video and I believe you said it too? (You and other peoples videos have stated that AA is better than Bloodied for the EPF in the past)
Angry Turtle you pointed out that bloodied does better dps wise than anti-armor on Bosses. I understand that its the case with weapons like the fixer but what about the Enclave Plasma Flamer?
Your last video about the EPF explained that Anti Armor does better than Bloodied for Bosses (and you dont need quad) is this still the case? (I really want to know since I managed to find a B50c25lv EPF and I want to know if I got the 100% best roll for it or if I need Anti Armor for the best roll)
I do plan to retest that after all the updates we got last year
@@AngryTurtle thanks for letting me know, take your time and enjoy your day
whenever I get a character to level 50+ and do the missions to get them a Fixer, I always roll for 2 stars. The 2nd star MUST be explosive. The first could be anti armor, Furious, or Vampire's... I tend to take 3 levels of Tank Killer (getting the rifle to 76% Armor ignore) so Anti Armor is nice, but I get more use out of Furious or Vampires.
Sorry, might be a noob question here. But why not use Prime Reciever for extra damage and also added damage to any type of scorched enemies? Also you get alot more ammo per vield with ultracite rounds.
What makes Tweaked Automatic Reciver that much better? :)
it's slightly better for non schorched enemies, on daily basis I'm using prime
So if your damage is high enough, armor basically acts like damage threshold from NV?
Great video, now I wonder what is the best second star? 25% faster fire or 50% crit damage? Explosive?
Depending on your build and playstyle. Bl explosive is all-around boss killer (with all perks on dmg + 5star expl perk from intelligence), crit dmg is also fun when you use vats build and 3-rd star if for 15% vats cost or fater crit meter, have this one on my quad fixer, faster fire rate? Don't know, fixer already has high fire rate, it's more usable on heavy energy guns (but for ordinary heavy guns i would use expl)
q 25 is best. there are videos on it.
@@tictoc677 that would have been my guess. Just pure DPS.
@tictoc677 yall acting like you can actually do the dps. Sit down
hey turtle, in the past youve said that for plasma flamers you use rifleman perks rather than commando ones. Currently I am using Slug Buster modified to be a plasma flamer and my pipboy shows me that only commando perks rise its damage. This this change or is it a strange bug?
they changed it, used to be rifleman now it's commando
My friend and I ran into the scorch queen other day just flying around no nuke circle. Figured someone failed to kill her gave up. The 2 of us dropped her by ourselves didn't take long at all would have preferred longer battle plus event drops
so cool.
Thank you turtle, great explanation as always!
over 2k hours and I had no idea about the tweaked receiver and crit damage.
Thanks for these types of videos, it’s why i originally subbed
I’m just gonna say as someone who enjoys boss fights, specially the Queen, you have 30 minutes, no need to rush the event, no need to end it in 2 minutes, enjoy the mobs, get some XP, ammo is cheap and you’ll get it all back, Make the most of those 30 minutes!
I understand that but I play regularly for 1.5-2 hours so I don’t have time to do that! my daily routine is completing dops and expedition solo then one Eviction Notice for scrips(using chat mod) 3 nuke run on Earle(because it gives 8 notes) that’s it.
@@impeacefulgamer You have a job then, not a game.
@@RamonAlek its not a job more like time management in life
The most satisfaction from the SQB is fighting the mobs with my Quads & Enclave Automatics. Keep the Queen alive as long as 28 mins & you will have a ball & loads of goodies. Still the best fight in the game in my opinion
@@impeacefulgamerIf you do that every time then yeah, it sounds like a job, and a boring one…
When you test on Super Mutants I almost feel sorry for them, they die so fast.
But then I remember they want to kill and eat me, and all humans.
So, nope not sorry anymore.
But a great video
TY Turtle.
So would i be fine just using quad rolls and priming bosses with a syringer?
I am trying to see if executioner Gatling ultracite laser would be any good? Do you think it could work?
Depends on other stars.
Going to have to update this already with the furious fix
Okay if anyone can help I just got a anti armor handmade auto rifle and the legendary mods it got is +50 armor pen. +50 Crit. Dam. and -25 action point codt with performance mag.(+40 armor pen.)
My perfect weapon in Fallout 76 to use is a Fixer Quad 3xplosive 50 Dur.
Mr. Turtle, can you make a updated Bloodied Power Armor Heavy build please?
I guess same applies for full hp build.
Thanks again AT. Keep up the great work :]
Hey Turtle, could you maybe do a Legendary for beginners video? As a newer player, i see a lot of people talking about legendary wrapons and armor, and I know that there's a lot i dont know.
For queen fight, with a quad fixer, every other shot a crit, how much extra damage to you get with explosive secondary effect?
50c vs Ex, not much difference in damage, the only thing difference is that Ex transforms the projectile into a hitscan round which lands immediately on the enemy without delay.
Mine is
1 star - Anti-Armor
2 star - +50% VATS hit chance
3 star - Hits have a 10% chance to generate a stealth field for 2 seconds
I love this
Because I'm a stealth commando
Should also be testing executioners
Is the tank killer perk not working with anti armor exclusive to the fixer or all guns?
it's working just not needed
Love my quad 50crit 25 less vats fixer on boss fights
Aristocrats also is no slouch when ur 30 K caps or more
Bloodied explosive fixer is my favourite, sometimes i use quad 50 hc -15% vats cost. Got them both from player vendor for 2k caps total) and 600 more for quad expl radium rifle
I found a BE25 handmade for its base price (536 caps) around two days ago. Bargain
@@FilthEffect welp i was lucky again, was playing on my mule acc with 40k caps on it, just randomly checked players vendors for resources and got insane deal, he was selling stable flux (all kinds) for 50 for 1 piece! Got all stuff for 20k caps, stand afk and he added another pack of flux same for 50 caps. Now i'm loaded for a year if not more) Best caps spent after that fixer deal
@@Andrew_Li_Onice! I finally found a seller of flux yesterday. Price 500 for 1 piece. 1000 for violet. I wouldn’t pay that on principle. Particularly as all his items were expensive including items that would rip off a new player who didn’t know better. Had over 1500 level. Meany. Anyway, pass me some of your luck please.
Sorry, I might have missed something. How is quad doing as much damage as anti armor answer bloodied per single bullet shot?? I thought quad only gave you 4 times the ammo capacity. Does it have hidden abilities?
I still remember Femos did this test like years ago. Sadly he disappeared.
I didn’t understand how your damage changed from 350/600 to 450/1100. What was the reason?
Do you not like the semi auto on the fixer always see you use automatic
I think everyone prefers automatic since it's more DPS
Great video. I'd love to see a boss fight comparison of 50c25v vs 25ffr25v.
FFR is the best effect because no effect can make up for full damage of an extra bullet, I prefer 50c for daily driver so then I don’t have to run demo expert. Super underrated perk is 50vhc as well for daily driver on any weapons since any missed projectile is lost damage
@@Alpha-lm2xxKeep in kind 25%fr is more likely to have damage reverted/not appear due to network lag and latency. In my opinion 50c is bettr since criticals go through bosses armor. (Yes you can crit with 25%fr but network lag and latency cause more shots to not count and you miss out on 50% more crit damage)

So the second star is better to have crit damage over explosive?
in most situations yes
I rolled a Q/50/25 Fixer like my third try so I run that. One day ill try for a bloodied but I get by for now lol
Full hp commando overall enjoyer guide / build:
Q 25 25 Tesla for events like eviction notice or radiation rumble, Q 25 Fixer Handmade or Assault rifle (your choice) for far distance enemies (AKA socrsched queen), and Enclace plasma flamer for mid close range enemies and mass fun.
I am getting Overeater Vanguard or Aristocrat with AP regen armor pieces from Secret Service and with the right perk cards and legendary perks, you are usntopable in all the possible circumstances, like daily ops with deadly piercing attacks or sudden strange events you have enough time to react. You may lose some damage, but you are not a glass canon anymore.
Believe it or not you can make a tanky bloodied build. I run Uny SSA and have damage resistances out the wazoo between all the different perks(especially the ones that reflect or mitigate damage), armor resistances and so on. Plus I get crazy XP, do crazy crit damage and have tons of AP. You can definitely easily make a full health build tanky, but you can also make a berserker bloodied commando (melee and rifleman as well) that can lay down punishment but also take it. Unless I'm going for straight damage my build is pretty tough. I rarely die at 10% hp and I hate sneaking everywhere. Having maxed legendary perk cards help and I don't waste a spot on quality of life perks.
im running a full set of unyapwwr FSA armor, level 2 serendipity and nothing else, with the empath mutation debuff active and im doing fine. tanking 1-3 hits before I die. s are good enough for survivability.
no problem with daily ops/exped/bosses.
FO76 is too easy to play as anything other than bloodied. Sometimes you gotta up the difficulty lol
@@BxBxProductions I just like being able to lay down a ton of punishment. Anytime I unbloody myself I feel like I'm shooting a pea shooter. Plus I play games where I'm used to only being hit once or twice to die,but with the right perks even a volley from a gang of mutants doesn't cut me down. (Actually it's nice to be downed because I get the buff from revenant after being stimed, then come back and smack the crap out of everything.)
It definitely makes the game easy to be full health, especially in PA, with a good build and half decent armor you're near invincible.
Q50 crit 15r choo choo is incredible, I can get around 1500+ per crit
The highest I got is 800 hundred with the same cho choo.
What buffs do you use?
Gotta be using blight soup, one magazine, one bobble head, and one chem to get that high crit damage I think
I scammed a dude got a quad 50 15 railway and got another dude for a quad 25 25 handmade lol I'm set.
Yeah I played around with the fixer for a couple weeks.. Spent way to much time at my workshop FIXING the dam thing.. even with lvl 5 Gunsmith and MAX repair.. Am not missing anything about this gun, am I?? some special trick so that it doesnt break after a couple events?? My Handmade can last for hours of game play without having to worry about repairing it..
Or did they call it the FIXER for just that reason??
I know this is an old comment, but I have noticed that a lot of people put the forceful stock on FIXERs in order to give it more durability points.
@@annemoore3590 Yeah i have that.. what I found/learned.. when repairing, enable the Weapon Artisan perk card! its max outs it's durability.. been a huge find for me :)

Quad is superior for all around gameplay, less reloading means more kills quicker for most events.
Definitely bloodied explosive fixer 👍

What about explosive? Is that not good anymore?
This is great but how is this weapon going to be different after their January 30th update?
What mask do you have on at the start of the video?
On a related topic, I have two 10mm Auto Pistols with identical mods (crit build) but one AA and one Bloodied. I also run with the adrenal mutation. The base damage reported for full health and down to less than 20% is always less for the Bloodied then the AA pistol (both increase because of the adrenal). @@brucewarren9281 oh ok, thanks bro. 💯
The big thing is your are running a crit build... with crit ignoring all armor anyway, so AA means nothing on the crit. Bloody is nice to just make sure you can 2 shot normal enemies. Quad for bosses to maximize "time on target" if popping coffee.
crit ignores damage mitigation not armour
@@AngryTurtle Ah... so boss would still get some damage reduction from armor, but not special reduction? How sure of the difference... just know big 800-1200 crits every other shot with spammed coffee will melt the boss! :)
Just an fyi, super mutants ballistic resists vary quite a bit, 150 - 200. Makes testing not quite as precise
Aristocrats stays slept on
So the tank killer perk does not work?
it works
Quad > all
TURTLE FACT:
Turtles are excellent swimmers, and they use a unique method of swimming called "fly-paddling." Instead of using their limbs like flippers, turtles use a synchronized motion of their front and hind legs to propel themselves through the water. This graceful and efficient swimming technique allows them to move through aquatic environments with ease. While turtles may not be as fast as some marine animals like dolphins, their fly-paddling method is well-suited to their needs and helps them navigate in both freshwater and ocean habitats.
Huh. Did not know there's enough armor penetration with a Quad to get almost the same damage as AA. Cool. Thanks, Turtle. The hunt for a decent Quad Fixer continues! XD I've been running around in Expeditions/Instanced interiors lately with a Nocturnal Fixer just to see how it goes and it's been pleasantly surprising. I know it's what gets called a 'Situational' weapons prefix, but I think nocturnal deserves a bit more of a shout when it comes to game play as it holds its own quite well.
why not a 25% weapon speed instead of crit damage?
better if server is laggy
How is he hitting head shots so high tho, I got same load out
if you copy my build exactly your damage should be the same
sdo u use quad if ur not doing boss
quad for boss. bloodied or anti for regular mobs
Quad 50/25 fixer is beast💪
Isn't the 2nd damage hit due to follow through? idk
Follow Through + Tenderizer
Turtle - Is the Railway Rifle in this class, also?
It's not considered a Heavy, correct?
yes it's a rifle
I can't have bloodied in my team it hurts seeing them drop in Daily Ops so often lately. I fix it with Healing Hands.
I swap for ops
Did the math for armor penetration change??
overall math no but some new features or bugs have been introduced, hard to tell if it's intended but it's like that for 6 months
Why does the 2nd Bullet do more damage, can anyone please explain?
legendary perk follow true and regular perk tenderiser
@@AngryTurtle Does follow through and tenderiser increase damage multiplicatively or additively?
I use Quad all time bc I hate reload lol
I would go for 50% anti armor and tank killer because i wouldn't run rifle perks in order to be extremely flexible with every gun i want. There is no point to go for overkill damage at all. 50% armor + tank killer is all you need for plasma rifle to work just fine for any activity. And i don't like Fixer or RWR because these guns are extremely broken and boring. Bloodied and quad needs a lot of damage boosts to work, anti armor doesn't need any at all. That's the key. Anti armor mod gives you flexibility with Perception stat, while bloodied and quad will force you to run 9 points in rifle perks for additional 60% damage to ignore armor and without that they will never work. But you can deal just enough damage while still using a lot of things instead of damage buffs in perception thanks to anti armor. So anti armor is the best because it will save 6 points in perception for you. Everything else doesn't matter.
Wrong
Anti armor explosive gives me better damage than say juggernaut explosive with my fixer,or junkie explosive.
But with quad you still need a bloodied build
4:22 So Tank Killer only adds 3.6 % armor penetration? Doesn’t seem worth it to me no matter which gun you have.
Wouldn’t more ranks of Concentrated Fire be better?
if you have no armour pen tank killer gives 36% but if you have 90% you get 36% off remaining 10%
@@AngryTurtle oh okay I see. It’s kinda like the weapon weight reduction effect on armor, it doesn’t go over 90% even if you have all 5 pieces that give -20%.
