This is a Disney show and so many fans had been begging for a musical episode since the start, much like the movies it’s based on. They hadn’t been renewed for season seven at this point so this was one of the last chances they had to give this to the fans. It’s always been one of my favourite episodes and it fit perfectly with the wedding for me. I’m also a musical fan so this is up my street but I do respect that you don’t enjoy them and didn’t enjoy this. This wasn’t the final battle either, it just gave her strength to help her face it.
Did you know that Colin broke a leg during Hooks Revenge Musical, but he didn't care and continued the scene. And that's the cut they took BTW, I usually hate musicals, but this episode made me love it 😂
Dude... it´s Disney. It´s a show full of Disney characters. Of course they´re gonna make a musical episode lolll. I laugh so hard with your reaction, I mean... If you hate musicals that´s fine, but you should be worried about that since the first season. If a show it´s gonna a make a musical episode out of nowhere, of course it would be OUAT.
When it came to this episode I did appreciate the talent of their singing voices. Zelena's song Wicked Always Win's is my favorite as her voice is so powerful.

It’s so funny the cast was like they made a musical episode without knowing if anyone can actually sing. It’s a fun episode overall. Though I will say the black fairy did us a favor where Emma didn’t wear Snow’s dress

I think in general musical episodes are kind of hit or miss, it depends on if it fits the story in the episode and the reasoning for things suddenly going musical, and it also depends on the show. I think it worked when Buffy did a musical episode, because of the specific reasoning in that episode but otherwise it wouldn’t work. The only reason it works here even though most of the songs are really cringy is because of how steeped in fairytale fantasy this show is and the fact that most of the Disney Fairytales that these characters stories are based on are musicals. However I also think that this episode would’ve worked without the musical elements involved. The problem I have is that after the Buffy musical episode every show suddenly decided that they needed a musical episode even if it didn’t make any sense in the greater narrative.
By contrast, I love musicals. The ones I don't like are one step before catchy if that makes any sense. I like Snow and Charming's song, Hook's song, Zelena's song, and Emma's song. I still love this show but after watching through the first six seasons 3 times, I still haven't completely warmed up to this episode.
You hated but that episode was a wish of the fans for many years. I don't love musical episodes but I kind liked this one. If there is a show where the characters singing is ok, it's the one about fairy tales. 🤣

Way too many, after this one I have started to skip them because I don't want my overall opinion of the show to be harmed because I hate musicals so much.
@@SimpleReactions oh my goodness well sorry to hear that, musical episodes are fun, especially for the actors because they get to explore their capabilities, but I guess I can understand how they would frustrate whoever has to watch them usually they are a bit cringe, but very rarely they are amazing, you should see the ones in Xena - but people can sing in that show, that’s the thing you have to have a good voice This definitely wasn’t the best musical episode of a TV show I’ve seen, it’s probably the weakest in consistency, but I still got some enjoyment out of it and it helps to be able to follow the plot of the story, but since the consistency was weak, the plot was tedious
Im not a big fan of musicals either but i loved this one....They all sang really good and it was a lot of fun...And the funny thing is, I have heard that Rumple can really sing...and at least its only 40 minutes long and not 2.5 or 3 hours long like a movie musical would be.....lol
Musicals aren't for everyone so it's fine :) I'm a huge fan of musicals but even I think some of this episode is a bit clunky I do think it's probably because of the Disney influence - remember, ABC is owned by Disney so I think it was always an eventuality Love your reactions dude!

On the scale of hating musicals to loving them. I would say I’m a solid seven. I can survive in massive massive cringe, which means that most musicals and Disney movies I’m OK with. But even glee, it’s too much for me.

I know it is one of the most loved episodes, but it is AWFUL! 😅 Ps: it is right to explain that a lot of fans asked a "musical episode" since season III. It is not a case this is the LAST episode (not counting the finale battle) of this season, when it is clear they finished the ideas. OUAT authors were very good to skip this until they could and however they give an explanation about everyone singing (as in scrubs, for example): they don't just sing. They are under a curse and they understand there is someting weird

as someone who loves musicals, i liked some of the songs a lot but i gotta say in context the singing instead of just dialogues felt very forced. i wish they had made an alternate version without the songs. especially due to the fact that they pushed this "lil emma wants to be a singer" thing when we've never even heard her listen to a song in the entire series so far. just came outta nowhere. so out of character. p.s. josh dallas SLAYED that tho

Yeahhhh. What bothers me most about this episode is why they made the musical episode also such an important episode in the overall plot (i.e. the wedding and the black fairy stuff). If they were going to do it I wish they could have at least put it in the middle of the season when things are slower plot wise.

This episode is a filler one. It literally didn't add anything to the story at all. And I'm glad they didn't let the musical interfere with the plotline. I also don't like musicals at all.

I hated this episode, I hate musicals in general. The only one I liked was Moulin Rouge and just for 80's music. Your reaction to this episode was very funny.
at least Killian is more speaking than singing, but that doesn't make it any better, does it?
I don't like it either, but I like Killians song for some weird reason. Every other minute is cringe, so I'm not even really watching this video. Skipping forward through almost all of it because I just CAN'T watch it 🥲👍🏻
