      Dear Nathan,
      You started releasing a video for beginners, personally to me, and I think many others would be interested in your advice on caring for a guitar, strings, greasing the fingerboard and waxing polished cases))

    Good surprises are the best. I've tried to be a guitar player for..ever and at the rate I'm going I'll have to live until the next millennia to have any fun with it. I've recently picked up a bass and just messing around and I'm having fun with it. I figured what the heck and watched the "beginner" lesson and learned alot. I stumbled across your channel and liked it immediately. I was really surprised to find out that you are a real bass player😆. Then it was no surprise why you were so good. So, just wanted to say thanks and I'll be hanging around here for a while. Cheers

    I've been playing for about 10 years now but have always had bad technique because my first bass was near impossible to play
    (I know a good musician should never blame the gear for their own bad technique, but this was a bass I got off ebay and even after having it set up, the strings still sat much further off the fretboard then they should have and my teacher never really taught me about good technique)
    So I now find myself with a much better setup bass and trying to re-learn proper technique so I can become a better player and I look forward to more lessons!

    Hi Nate!
    I'm learning bass by myself and got used to playing E on pickup, playing the A string with thumb on E, the D string with my thumb between E and A and the G string with thumb between A and D.
    Is there anything wrong with playing this way or should I relearn it and do it your method?

    • @NateNavarro
      @NateNavarro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, Pat! Your current method will still mute each string that is not in play, which is vital, but I would suggest trying the method shown in this video because it will improve efficiency when switching between the E and A strings. :)

      @edwinacosta1354 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First thing is don't buy an expensive one. Cause if you stop playing it'll be money waisted. There are many good brands out there that are great for beginners. Ibanez, Yamaha, sterling sub, squire, just to name a few. Squire p-basses are really nice. They have a volume and a tone knob. Great for beginners. However, it is still important for you to go your local guitar store and see them for yourself. A good budget range would be 200-400 dollar range maybe even $500, if you see something you like. I wouldn't go above 400. I myself own a few basses, and one of my favorites is an Ibanez sr250. Great simple bass. Still head to your local store and try a few. Also don't be afraid to ask the sales people for help. Many of them a great musician's and will point you in the right direction.
