    All that probably 75% of Americans really need. For 1 person to get to get around a suburban or city area. Easy to park and does not use much gas, won't break down, maint is cheap, will last 10 years and payments are low and will end after 3 years. They sell well in places like SE Asia, South Africa, Latin America, South Europe, and the Caribbean. Too bad all competitors discontinued similar cars in the US. Fit, Sonic, Fiesta, Mazda2, Spark, Fiat500, Yaris. Pre-covid you could get one for $10k with A/C.

      You are exactly right. There were 2 of these and they both sold for $12700

    Love driving the wife's G4 in tight city streets. It's u-turns are unbelievable, on a fucking dime. Decent size trunk, great visibility, great mpg, good CVT reliability demonstrated since 2014, especially versus a Nissan. Underrated little workhorse, great delivery car.

    I own one. Not a race car by any stretch. 48 mpg though. Also pretty handy in the snow too. It's damn loud that's for sure.

    Why do you say its slow when it has 140 mph on the dash

    Mitsubishi could have engineered that engine to put out 85-90 hp which would have been much better. And made acceleration more inline with "normal" cars.

      78 hp not 74 lol. 45mpg on highway is easily achieved doing 65mph on level ground.

    Made in Thailand. Beats the rickshaw in a drag race and better than walking I guess.

    The manuals are much more tractable. My '15 is coming up on 200,000 miles with no real problems other than two broken clutch cables.
    These are just a gas can on wheels which is all some people need to putt around town.

      Yeah they’re pretty awesome little cars in a five speed the CVt is just OK

    I bought a brand new 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage ES manual when White Bear Mitsubishi was selling them for $9,000 (as low as $7,500 brand new if you qualified for the three $500 rebates). $7,500-9,000 for a brand new car that consistently gets 40-50 mpg, super reliable, and easy to work on. 78 hp is plenty for a car like this. If want to have fun, learn to drive a manual. I've owned 3 cars with less horsepower than a Mirage. More horsepower would be a waste! I have over 60,000 miles with zero issues on my Mirage. WB dealership has a 2014 Mirage with 414,000 miles on it, & very little was done for repairs by that former owner. Look it up, you'll find it. I pass a Cadillac Escalade on the interstate just as easily as any other vehicle on the road. I was looking for an affordable, reliable, & economical car at the time, & nothing else was even close! Sadly, car prices have gone nuts this past year. Mirage makes a great daily drivers, 2nd family vehicle, or send the kid off to college cars. Not much else is left like this, & that's really a shame. Find something else to bash, because this little car is a gem!

      I’m not bashing the mirage. I’m bashing the cvt mirage. I have a 5 spd I bought new last year from a dealer in Minnesota. I had to pay $12500 for it tho. Still better than todays price. Anyways. Not sure who you are talking to here?!?

      @@JoesGoldenGarage Comment was meant for those who like bashing the car. There a place for cars like these. Just like there's a purpose for a full size pickup truck.

      @@JoesGoldenGarage That 400k mile Mirage that made the news in Minneapolis was a CVT Mirage. The 5speed is of course more fun and reliable, just like with any car but the CVT Mirage has shown good reliability for the past 8 years. 78HP doesn't stress the CVT out at all.

    Do not buy, either the 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 or the 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia (any of these sedans). They are both junk. Thanks.

    • @kylemas2005
      @kylemas2005 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Joes Golden Garage I've owned 3 Mirages all CVT, a 2014 DE, my wife has a 2017 G4 Mirage, and after I totaled my 2014 I went out and got a brand new 2021 ES Mirage with yes.....a CVT LOL. Once you figure out the pulse and flow of a JATCO CVT7 and its programming figures out how you like to drive, it's actually not bad at all.
