Excellent work. Nice to see someone that has pride in their profession. Very impressed with the end result. Well done, all the best from Gold Coast Australia
So happy when I started watching this and yall were using the proper size blocks for the job. Too many companies building huge walls with 12” blocks.. I did a 900’ wall 35’ high with the big broncos. A whole summer of work.
We are putting one in with bigger blocks that have pins on the top like Legos. They are bigger than those blocks, and are just mage from the returned concrete at the concrete plant. We are out in the country so there's no inspections or anything, but there are a lot of these type walls in this area. Interesting to se how it is done in other areas!
What is a fit lock? What do you use to clue them together? How did you achieve the 1% grade? How much was the engineer portion of the job? Overall cost of a project like this?
Very nice wall. Did anyone else notice that the side dump hit the overhead services wires? Maybe it was just overhead comm wires, idk. Regardless, nice wall. I like the steps.
@@GarrettWilliams2017 Thank you, Garrett, for the quick response. I am thinking of having a similar style and setup done on my property. So it's good to get a reference. I am in Missouri.
Great work, your focus on quality is amazing. You have a successful career ahead of you! What brand is that block and what is size/weight of a standard wall block from that manufacturer?
Well done 👏. I been looking that this days building retaining wall with big blocks is the new thing. Here where I work we're doing some natural cut stone block that weight between 2000 lbs. to 3500 lbs. Depending on the stone how dense can be.
About the blocks- what size, what kind of block are they, how heavy are they, can you color them or order a different color, how much.. Looks very good, thanks.
I’m looking to do a 36’ x 4’ block wall just like this, but I don’t have a big boy excavator to move the blocks. do you think I should rent one or can I get away with my skidsteer? The ground on a slope so working conditions are not ideal. I think I know the answer, but…
We only specify adhesive for the 6.5" caps or freestanding units...those 39T's don't need it. The fitting block is to adjust for the batter with the double outside corners. With each course the block is stepping back, the fitting block allows the returns to step back as well.
These look like they would also work for shoreline protection. Base row most important to get right. When your stacking and re checking for level, what exactly on the bottom side were you cutting with the concrete saw? Also, if you were going to build a wall with these style of blocks 3 or 4 rows high, could you build it perfectly straight rather than angle it back if it was holding back a large bluff. Dirtmonkey Stan had a video about geotextile too behind walls and not fabric. Alot of questions but your a smart man!
I’m thinking about building a wall like this on my property. My property line/ old fence boarders a state parkway? Any idea if I’d have to get any additional permits from the state or dot since it’s a state parkway?
How do these blocks stack on a radius wall? Im looking at quoting a wall with the tongue and groove style block and the wall is a radius but have not used them before.
Is that 145 your go to machine for most of your residential work? I have a new E50 which is ok for most jobs but a little small, so I'm debating a new E88 or 145 but concerned about access.
Whats a job like this usually run for, does everyone need a engineer to draw up plans for a job like this or no? Exceptional work friend… love the advise you give and workmanship
I am enjoying your videos. I just started gearing up for my new LLC. I noticed your heavy trailers that you tow behind your 1T pickups. Are you able to stay under 26 K or do you have your trucks officially rated for higher payloads?
I'm surprised the Inspector didn't require a fence at the wall. Some kids playing back there will run right off the edge. Any deck 30" above grade requires a rail.
Your transitions from showing something back to your face is going to make me 🤮…. Please smooth that out or show what you need to explain and edit back to you! Great job on the project!
Hey Garret, would it be too much to ask how much (you think is fair) to charge for that type of wall build? Let’s Say Excluding the materials… I’m running my business out of Montréal, Québec. I could private message you:)
10:30 mark. Lesson to learn that I spotted. Gotta watch for power lines. That could have been catastrophic.
Very nice job on the wall!!
Really enjoy your videos and for a young man nothing is stopping you and your business.
Excellent work. Nice to see someone that has pride in their profession. Very impressed with the end result. Well done, all the best from Gold Coast Australia
Quality always the most important, months later the work will speak for itself in repeat business! great work mate! well done! thanks for sharing! 🙏🏻

Great attention to detail. Well done!
Thank you sir!
Awesome work I love seeing attention to detail.
Thank you!
Great educational and enjoyable video, thank you !
Thanks for watching! Really appreciate it!

Man your killing it out there great work

Amazing work!!

Nice job J 🇺🇸
What is a fit lock?

How did you achieve the 1% grade?

Overall cost of a project like this?
I love it that you have the vision to realize that quality workmanship will bring in more customers than getting the job done quickly.
GREAT JOB!
Thank you!
Great work, that turned out awesome!
Thank you
If you where near Texas I would hire you today. No joke. Very nice work.
We would come to Texas In the winter for the right size project
@@GarrettWilliams2017 Mine isn't big enough to justify it. I need about what you did in this video but no one around here does it worth a darn.
Awesome video, sounds like your engineer over engineers.
Product looks great man, that tongue and grove has got to be nice to work with. Could always use geotex to help keep soil back. 🤙🏻
Very nice wall. Did anyone else notice that the side dump hit the overhead services wires? Maybe it was just overhead comm wires, idk. Regardless, nice wall. I like the steps.
He did rub them but that’s all
good work bud
Thank u sir
WoW that’s nice!!!
Wow that's really cool
Great job! Beautiful work! I’m not sure where you are located but what was the cost of this particular project all in?
We are in the middle of Minnesota. Price per square foot to the customer is around 80 square-foot.

You do really good work nice job.
Liked and subbed. Outstanding work on this job. Those blocks will never move. And if they do we've got bigger problems 🌏
Looks great! Do you have a plan view/elevation view with the dimensions and some details of the project?
Yes!
Nice 2020 chevy must be the bosses lol
Awesome work, yall do the little things very well. Which will make or break you building these walls.
Yes sir!
What do you charge per square foot to install those big boys? I’m in Colorado and I’m just curious about the difference.
Nice work! What did you use for base material rock?
3/4-1.5” crushed rock
I’m looking to do a 36’ x 4’ block wall just like this, but I don’t have a big boy excavator to move the blocks. do you think I should rent one or can I get away with my skidsteer? The ground on a slope so working conditions are not ideal. I think I know the answer, but…
I would definitely get a mini x. Easier to dig out for the wall too.

It's all about that BASE! No treble!
Looks great Garrett, how much $ roughly does a job like this cost? I’m looking for something very similar in Ontario
If I remember correctly roughly 60k
Did the owners have to put in a fence? Not by the stairs, but at the end of the yard? Because of the hight of the wall.
Yes they did!
Did you run a drain through the back off the wall? It looks like you did but I didn’t see that part on the video.
Yes we did. As well as crushed drainage rock
These look like they would also work for shoreline protection. Base row most important to get right. Did you have any drainage behind that wall to move water?
Yes drain tile and 3/4” rock
I’m thinking about building a wall like this on my property. My property line/ old fence boarders a state parkway? Any idea if I’d have to get any additional permits from the state or dot since it’s a state parkway?
I would definitely check with your low cal city and park association before starting any demo or construction
How do these blocks stack on a radius wall? Im looking at quoting a wall with the tongue and groove style block and the wall is a radius but have not used them before.
You think you could build a house out of these blocks?
Nice work, where did you get blocks from?
Looks really good!
So when are you getting a steel wrist for your 145?
Planing for this spring
Nice! That will be an awesome upgrade for that machine.
Yes it would!
We are putting 992 2 x 2 x 6 blocks in.....here we go😮
If you have to cut a block in half do you make 2 cuts with a 14” cutting saw?
Is that 145 your go to machine for most of your residential work? I have a new E50 which is ok for most jobs but a little small, so I'm debating a new E88 or 145 but concerned about access.
Where are you located at man? We build retaining walls as well and are looking for different types of block to use.
Central mn
I have wanted to do one of these walls. Did you like dealing with these large block or would you rather do regular bock and stone?
I liked these
10:40, the dump bed hits the electrical service going to the house.
Whats a job like this usually run for, does everyone need a engineer to draw up plans for a job like this or no?

What product are those blocks?
I am enjoying your videos. I just started gearing up for my new LLC. I noticed your heavy trailers that you tow behind your 1T pickups. Are you able to stay under 26 K or do you have your trucks officially rated for higher payloads?
All our pick ups are under 26k
The star of this show is the crane operator
Who makes the block that you used?
Re-con
how much did you charge for a job like this? How much are the concrete blocks?
What size cut-off saw did you use to clean up those blocks? Looked like 9” or 14”
14”
Sick!
Can you Recomend Someone for this type of work in Princeton WV
Unfortunately I can’t.
Very good work, what was the ballpark price to have something like that done?
Thank you! 70k
Drainage?
Can you give a rough estimate on what you charged for that job please?
What a great job by you guys but I will say it looks goofy sitting next to that fence the neighbors better step their game up
How much is this costing an average
80k
What is this called I live in Oregón but I don’t know who to go about this and who handles all this I’m thinking a landscaping company maybe?
People in the next 1000 years will wonder how the walls were made. Luckily they have youtube to show it
Treat the job as you are the one spending the money to have it done
in germany you wouldnt use this blocks for homes/gardens...only for indurtry things
Perfeito 😃👏
I'm surprised the Inspector didn't require a fence at the wall. Some kids playing back there will run right off the edge. Any deck 30" above grade requires a rail.
I just got a quote of $7k for a wall like this using 8ft blocks. Wall will be 80 ft long and 4 ft high
The wall will outlast the house. And the house that comes after it.
Not the best soil?? That’s what people buy here to top dress!!!! Dang
👍🇺🇸
Help trump build the wall
We did get a bid invite but never sent any numbers
Your transitions from showing something back to your face is going to make me 🤮…. Please smooth that out or show what you need to explain and edit back to you! Great job on the project!
