In the years after my girlfriend died, this song haunted me. It would randomly come on the radio when I drove by one of our spots. It would show up in a random shuffle mix when I started writing a journal entry about her. I didn't even know who sang it until a friend took me to a Lord Huron concert on her anniversary and, of course, they played it. For me, it will forever be her song, even though I don't know if she ever heard it.
It’s a sign from her maybe ! When my loved one passed away 3 months ago, i kept seeing a number everywhere and when i’ve seen it in one of his picture, big and wide behind him, i knew it was him..

In September i met a girl, she and i are at the same group. it was like love at first sight. I couldn't take my eyes of her, and she was so energic and cheerfull. She was talking with the people, trying to learn them, help them. I was new to the group but she wasn't. She came to me, we talked a bit, she was smiling all the time. She asked my age, my proffesion, name, horoscope etc. We had a lot of common actually. And when the time came i had to go. She came up to me and hugged me. God i've never felt this happy and cozy. Time had past but nothing happened, we talked all the time when we see each other, we hugged each other. But nothing was going further. I gave up and asked her out yesterday. I was so nervous and didn't thought it will going well. She was perfect and sadly i've never found myself in a that way. We sat in a sofa, we chit chatted a little then i asked "do you have any plans in next week? " she said no, and we agreed to take a coffee. I don't know how it's going to be, but i really would love to be her lover. I can bring stars to her hands, i can do everything. I feel so strong when she smiles and listens. Whoever reads those please pray for me. I do not want to be tired and broken anymore. I just needed to tell someone. Thank you for reading and i'm sorry for all the writing mistakes.
Edit1: Recently we seen each other in an event. We talked like a 1hr in front of a fire place. She told me about her dreams, career plans, family etc. Everytime i say something she was listening me all eyes open. It felt so magical. I really fell for her more and more.

I had a friend i met in 4th grade i had a crush on him ever since we met on the bus... there was something about him idk if it was his charm or humor but he just made me so happy. he was kinda popular at the time but still took time to hang out with me. i remember i went to the playground once and he was there. so we played tag but i sucked and we were just going back and forth. he would always tease me about it. it was just moments like that where we clicked and they made me love him more and more. i knew he had stuff going on at home cuz he misbehaved a lot and his mom died when he was younger in a car accident. he honestly just didn't have someone to tell him right from wrong. so a few months ago he was with some friends. they were drinking. they were on some stuff as well im not sure what. they decided to steal one of there parents cars and go on a drive at 2 am. when they were coming back they hit a truck and out of the 4 boys one lost there life. he was the boy. the boy ive loved for almost 5 yrs gone just like that. this song reminds me of him. and im sorry if this was too long and ik u probably don't care but idk this song just sparks something. i never got to tell him how i felt. and now we have to live knowing that he will never get to grow up, get married, have kids and just live life :(

It is something rather powerful. I do this kind of vibrato when I am crying while singing. So I am guessing that he is holding back some tears in this clip.

This is one of the saddest songs I have ever heard.
I met this guy a few months ago on a night out with my friends. It was my first time out and I was finally enjoying my life once again. My friends were all talking with some guy and I saw him. He seemed like me, peering into our friend's conversation. I decided to approach him and I don't know what it was but I felt safe with him. He didn't make a move on me right away and was a complete gentleman. We hit it off. We learned we've had similar trauma and experiences, humour, likes etc. and I didn't want to but I fell hard. Right as I fell, he decided he wasn't ready for a relationship. I understand. But he is everything I ever wanted in a man from his personality, looks to the connection I know he felt too. It hurt me bad. I just want to go back to the night we met and relive those brief moments where I was so happy and I'm afraid I'll never feel the same again.
My favorite part is when the crowd shuts up and actually let's them perform it without the unwanted background vocals and wolfwhistling

I have to confess, I have been obsessed with finding this song & the singer, since I first heard it on TCM’s Memorial tribute for 2022. I felt, at last they had found the most beautiful memorial tribute to honor all those who we have lost every year!
I'm a music lover. I listen to tons of songs everyday. Recently when I was watching the show "13 reasons why" I found this from the series. I'm so happy I found this gem before I die. I bet no song has the power to make you feel depressed at the same time it makes you listen to it more than once.

I love when a singer sounds as good, or of course, better than their recording. Amazing lyrics, tells a great story. Everyone should do themselves a favor and actually check out his other music. I know that Netflix show probably brought most of you here but 'Strange Trails' has been a staple in my playlist for nearly 2 years; 'Hurricane', 'Fool for Love', 'Meet Me in the Woods'...
What I love most is how the last track on the album is the one receiving the attention it deserves. It was a beautiful way to close out a great album. Some of the best songs are those that tell great stories, Ben does it very well!
CL. Prime I agree. I'm glad Lord Huron is gaining some recognition, because frankly I feel like they're super underappreciated. But holy hell LH is one of the most genius and talented groups I've heard in my entire life, lyrically, musically, etc.
