A friendly tip about that top starter motor bolt. Do up all the bell housing bolts and leave the gearbox hanging down, put the starter motor in and you'll find its worlds easier to do that top bolt. I normaly use a 3/8 10mm and a long 3/8 extension. By bolting up the gearbox mount area first you're making life way harder for yourself. Nice video mate.
I’ve been caught out by not plugging a fan back in before. Drove the car for weeks after installing a different expansion tank, never ever overheated or even got hot, but everytime I turned the car off it’d spurt coolant down my guard liners. After driving 200km north and back, the car finally decided to overheat at the very end of the trip (how’s that for luck). Originally I thought it was a faulty radiator cap as it was nearly 20 years old, so I replaced it and whilst bleeding the coolant it started boiling in the fill-bucket, that’s when I noticed the fan hadn’t turned on and that the plug wasn’t actually clipped in properly.. Fun times
Always good to see some forbidden kool-aid getting added in! I think you save yourself so much time by methodically going through changing bits sequentially instead of doing it all at once and then having to troubleshoot as much!!! Also huge props on the 'focus of the build' I think that is lost a lot on the internet where the chase is X Power number, but its forgotten what the purpose of the vehicle is, and what is needed to meet those goals; so if you build it *internet specification* you end up with an overcamed vehicle with too large of a turbo; that feels stubborn for city driving. Power is just a part of the system that makes a vehicle successful; arguable that its more important of "When" power is delivered and not "How Much". Great work as always!
I had to replace my clutch on my 14 sti, and I played hell separating the trani and engine. Never pulled a trani and fighting the dowel pins was a nightmare. Made sure I cleaned them up and antiseized when I reinstalled
You can hold throttle above (I think) around 80% (so just floor it) when cranking and it'll go into flood clear mode and won't squirt the injectors while it cranks.
Wow what a pain in the ballz with no window to get the pump out without taking the tank down! These engines are pretty cool! I bet if I put one in my 70 Mach 1 it would be CRAZY! To bad these were not in use here in the states
There shipping a shit ton of used ones over to the states. I heard that when the Geelong Engine Factory stopped production a batch of the last ones were shipped direct from the factory to Ford USA.
Mike, the Barra is the final evolution of the old 3rd gen Thriftpower-Six from 1960, which then became the Special-Six, then we modified the deck height and made the 221ci motor, then became the 250ci Pre-X-Flow, then X-Flow, then Intech, then finally the Barra. (We don't talk about the EA Falcon 3.2/3.9L that was between X-Flow and Intech, that's how bad it truly is. 🤣👍) The 4th gen six cylinder motor (240/300ci, aka Truck Six) is known as the "Canadian" motor here as Benny said. 👍 That said, I only see 351s in F bodies here, never a six. 🤷
Benny's so good he put 5 liters of top quality valvoline in and then changed the oil filter. I challenge anyone else to do that and show us the result. Don't hate the player hate the game.

If it had no canopy it’d be a 10 min job to take the tub liner out but removing/ refitting the canopy is a stuff around, it only took 10 min to drop the tank too

Legit came here to say that, lol
Lol I should’ve read the comments first I said the same thing. But it does have an after market ECU so idk if it’ll work.
@@Justme-jt1ef oh good point. Flood clear might only be on stock ECU's. Although it's a common feature so would be surprised if it doesn't have it
So good as always
Love xr6 but where does the ferrari part come in? The gear nob?
Much appreciated videos.
The rims mate
Old rocker cover Ferrari red
What's best to put on the injector o-rings before fitting the injectors?

Mate if you can ship i got a few here in brisbane
Great content as always benny👌also whats that cool background song.
Always learning something new from your vid, Benny. Thanks mate
Great work as always Benny! Keep it up!!
may be a weird question, but do you use only green coolant liquid in AU ? in DK we have blue and red
Green and red in Au
Green, red , blue, orange and yellow
You should probably look at changing the factory bov as I found they leak boost.
Probly know this but with Falcons if you hold the accelerator pedal flat out while cranking it WON'T start... I do this on every oil change
I thought xr6 turbos were 4 bar 58psi for fuel pressure?
A few people have mentioned that , will update :D
You're right, 4 bar base fuel pressure for the turbo. NA is 3 bar.
2.7 Bar for NA, definitely 4 Bar - 58psi for turbo.
So hype over a Ford Taurus rental car. I love to see how cars are received in different countries! Nice build buddy.
The falcon actually shares zero with a Taurus / Fusion
Will there be any mods to improve towing capabilities? That is apart from mo power…
...babeh
It already has the HD tow bar, trans cooler and big brakes so there’s really not much more to add.
@@BennysCustomWorks yeah what next? GVM upgrade?
Maybe a chassis extension and a lazy axle ( falcon ute chassis are too short out back- with traytops the towball is always under the tray!)
Big Bez
gonne get in touch with my 1jzgte is200 - i want to pull the pan to suss out if the motor was put together legit i'll hit you on FB xx
wish we could have utes......best we can get now is theMaverick w/ 4cyl turbo
The cresta can clearly tow 🤣
Just wondering, does the Barra have any relationship with the 300ci/5L inline 6 sold in ford pickups in the States in the 90s?
The Aussie Ford 6 evolved from a US motor in the 1960’s. I doubt there are many similarities.
No the 300 ci ‘canadian’ 6 isn’t related. They were sold here in the 60’s in F100’s and had common bellhousing patterns to some Ford V8

EA 3.9L went okay with the manual gearbox?
The turbo Benny? So 3584rs spec (67/84) with STD ford .5 compressor housing yeah? Why the move to bigger compressor? Cheers Troy

Having to fix the daily Rig is no fun when you know you 'Have to fix it'.
A pleasure to watch as always, should make for a really nice daily work ute!
What's worse, brake cleaner or petrol in the eye? I've had brake cleaner. That hellspawn fuel system looked like it nearly got U Benny.

Isn't the base pressure about 58psi?
Benny is the kinda guy we all know and love that would suit the nickname "waffles"
You tried but no
Done well big day
Benny starting to look like little John from Robin Hood.
Did Benny just disrespect his Ute by calling it a truck?
Must be missing something with the Ferrari
The wheels.
Ain't no Rodshop build, I like this better tho, actually relatable/useful information
I still have no idea why this is called "Ferrari" Ford.
For some reason it has (presumably fake) Ferrari wheels. I guess the previous owner thought they looked cool or something.
Click bait dude😊
Benny looks and acts different ... did he lose weight?

"FERRARI FORD | ENGINE SWAP" WITH NO ACTUAL FERRARI.....HAHA
