  • Huge thanks to the guys at Bullet Race Engineering for giving me a peek at the already made full CNC machine billet Ford Barra engine blocks. They do look amazing and it has me thinking... Maybe
    Anyway, comment below, how much power do you think they'll handle and how fast will people go with them?
    To check out all of the Bullet gear, head to www.bulletraceengineering.com.au or find them on Facebook or Instagram under the same name.

    Australia needs to start manufacturing cars again. Regardless of domestic price. For such a small population, you have had such a huge positive influence on the automotive industry world wide.

      @@AlienLivesMatter Try watching America's Shadow Government Series 2 Episode 1 - "The Game is Rigged." I think it's still up on SBS Catch Up. It explores the US car industry. It is very well researched.
      All our local car industry wanted was $19 government subsidy per car. Compare that to Germany's $200ish. Idiot Hockey said, "Poor people don't drive cars." What a dope! Gawd I hate Right Wing government almost more than I hate religious zealots. At least with religious zealots know you're a nobody heathen going to hell. Right Wing governments rip the guts out of education and workers rights then tell the workers if they still want jobs they had to do it because of the Left.

      Australia has many well engineered products like the Ford Barra engine which is only now being discovered by American Tuners.
      Australia has some great engineering and manufacturing capacity and has to restart its manufacturing operations.
      When push comes to shove, many international manufacturing close their manufacturing here because their governments give incentives to restart manufacturing back in their home country leaving many talented Australians out of work.
      Australia needs to be self sufficient and restart manufacturing / design on their own.

    I love Barras. When I first heard about them 6 years ago, I wondered why they arnt mainstream yet!? The torque number can already be made to surpass a 2j… but then it’s billet!!! That’s a real gamechanger. They move some serious air boys check the statistics!!!

    They could have a dry sump & rear mounted gearbox, ie the gearbox mounted against the diff, life a Alfa, a 928 or some Merc Sports cars

    Riddle me this... If they're building drag race blocks and heads from scratch why not add a couple more head studs per cylinder to give the head gasket some extra support and clamping load? The work they do is awesome! Great video

      @lennixsingh626 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They're not making custom one off bits that you need custom stuff for. These billet block are an off the shelf part and a standard barras gear can pretty much drop right in

    Apart from the weight, I don’t understand why people don’t just cast these blocks from SG iron. Much cheaper and indestructible.

      7075T6 aluminium has similar strength to mild steel. So similar strength for lower weight. With racing, this is everything.

    Thanks for post!! Very interesting!!! It's a shame the Barra block isn't available in the states. I think the single overhead cam is a great idea. Double overhead cam engines are two fragile. When i was in college half century ago we built a 6 cylinder chevy stovebolt that ran at the front of the slow v8 pack as long as it stayed together!!!!

      Barra double overhead cams are not fragile at all mine has done over 450 k and runs great and my turbo fg has done 375k and gets trashed every day without any problems
