I think this is the best Tim Jackson video I've seen on here, and there are three reasons for this: his usual astonishingly fast technique, interesting licks, and flawless execution.
i'm with you man.this or non stop, cant decide!I'm a drummer and percussionist myself and as all drummers i know a thing or two about hand technique but this guy is an ANIMAL!One of the best(if not the best)i've EVER seen!CHEERS!
not only is this incredible for its difficulty, but no matter what he plays it is guaranteed to be CLEAN as hell. He plays at speeds faster than the average drummer can usually reach, and yet has complete control. No sloppy licks, no rim hits. wow. I am convinced that this man has more stick control than any DCI drummer. Ever. Let's recap: 1. Really fast. 2. Really clean. 3: Playing six drums, with the acknowledgment that quads are the most complicated instruments on the drumline. 4. AMAZING.
no. this solo wasnt improved because you can buy this solo at scottjohnsons website. just google scott johnson on google then click on his the website link and click on music. you can find this solo there
I personally consider him the best tenor player (and one of the all-around best drummers) ever to grace the Earth, but that's just me. Decide for yourself!
true that. but in terms of having the "BEST" stick controll that dci has to offer, i would recomend taking a look at noel alvirez's 2007 snare solo......i agree with you on everything else though
Tim is amazing. I didn't say that noel was better over all, I'm just refering to control. I guess I'll just leave it alone since judging on my comment score, apparently not many people liked what I said.... lol
this is true, though i do believe in a high school atleast, basses are hareder to clean that the other instruments, due to the fact that thats where most of the freshmen marchers start out, as the parts are usually easier, to some degree, and it gives an important lesson in counting :D
Is is just me, or among all the ridiculous things going on in this solo, is there only ONE RIM! (:35 seconds in) Every quad solo has a few. I've seen multiple 1st place solos have many. This thing is absurdly good.
well since you comparing drumset vs dci. thats a little silly eh? but travis' vids playing a marching snare arent that great. ive never seen tim jackson play set. so its hard to say whos "better" when you havnt seen them do everything they can. but who cares! they are great drummers in their own world!

@talesofpiratesftw the 3 pasic is like an annotation or like how on abc, theres a thing in the corner of the screen, its on of those things.
I like that little tiny bit of a rhythm x 04 lick at :55. Its really subtle...
Holy shit. Starting at 2:35... SO FUCKIN EPIC!!! Cant wait to see him in person at the UNT drumline camp in june.
Shit!!!!!!!! He killed it.......
i play tenors in my middle school, and i know the people that play them in the highschool i'm going to, that is extremly harder than it looks
OH MY GOD
insane
true that. but in terms of having the "BEST" stick controll that dci has to offer, i would recomend taking a look at noel alvirez's 2007 snare solo......i agree with you on everything else though
holy shit... flam butterflies
why does the tenor on the left look invisible.?
Tim is amazing. I didn't say that noel was better over all, I'm just refering to control. I guess I'll just leave it alone since judging on my comment score, apparently not many people liked what I said.... lol
Unintentional rim clicks = maybe 1. At 2:46. But knowing Tim Jackson's style, it was probably intentional :-)
i want to know the flam combo at 2:33 hahah
Where does he teach?
@Creothcean Most complicated? nooooooo there is no most complicated every instrument takes a different understanding.
didnt mike hodges beat him once at pasic or something?

holy singles batman!!!
spida spin at 2:20 :)

@explodingpimp Not really..they require different skills..and usually snares get a harder book..just saying
they do look like vegas ... stop the vid at 3 seconds and look at the small nylon head ... looks vega-ish
i think they may be vega's but i might be mistaken =/ i cant tell for sure lol he is playing to damn fast haha
@picklepunk 2nd world's greatest tenor player, bill bachman is the best
It's 3-way backsticking. I can do it, but not that fast. Damn.
@specialkid2113 ohhhhh i see lol xD

think about it this way.
Travis Barker would be Tim Jackson's slave.
I hate when people compare DCI people with drumset players.
Practice.
Too bad Bill always focused on drum set and not tenor playing.
yeah those were diefinately split drum-rimclick-drum lol :D jk :)
travis barker isn't even average
did you just compare fucking travis barker to tim jackson?
