It's very hard for SM artist to make their own song and submit it to the company for approval because SM has a very high standard for their songs, they have alot of top tier song writer composer in kpop industry. So Taeyeon also just sing the songs that already made for her, she just to choose which song to sing or she can also pick which songwriter she wants to work with and the songwriter can make the song based on her request.
That's why SNSD Seohyun gets angry to the company because they never approved all of her songs she made.

welcome to the fandom! Because once you hear her voice, especially in performances like this... it is very very hard not to love her. She has always dreamed of being a great live singer and it's safe to say she surpassed all expectations. She's one of most talented vocalist in the world and was noticed very early career. 3 years before her official debut with Girls' Generation in 2007, at 15 years old, her mentor already had her featured on one of his song titled You bring me joy.
While GG is known to be a legendary girl group in kpop... Taeyeon, on her own right, has won many awards for her solo career. She is known to be the OST Queen because of how many songs she has in K-Dramas. And rightfully so since her voice has this great ability to convey emotions so well. "IF", as you've heard, is a great song and it really put her beyond the trope of just being a kpop star but a serious vocalist.
You should really check out other OST songs she has, notably "I love you" (live version), "missing you like crazy". There's also a video showing snippets of her 12 most emotional performances from her concerts, it includes many of her japanese songs that are really great. Cheers

I guess Taeyeon doesn't write the melody of her songs but I know she suggests or sometimes directs the melodies if she thinks it doesn't sound good.
It's so hard to not love a woman with this voice (with a goddess beauty). She's just so amazing.

That first OST is from the popular kdrama Hotel del Luna which stars IU.
Wow it is so funny to see you seem struck with the 2008 mega hit OST while I had no idea of INVU which you show smiles and nods all over your face. Two different generations for our national treasure Girls' Generation's lead singer. Althoug I recognized the melody instantly, I didn't know who sang the song.

The first OST "All About You" (literal translation is "A Poem Titled You") is for the drama "Hotel Del Luna" with Yeo Jin Goo and IU as lead. To answer your question, Taeyeon has not officially acted except for some short cameos.
The second OST "If" is for the drama "Hong Gil Dong". Taeyeon's OST was a national hit that year along with another OST she released the same year called "Can You Hear Me".
Funny you thought she doesn't look like someone that has a 15 years old song xD She does look really young. Taeyeon officially debuted in 2007 with Girls' Generation making this, her 16th year in the industry. She was born in 1989 and is 34 years old.

No, unfortunately taeyeon is not an actress. She stated in one of her interviews that she doesn’t want to dwell in another profession but only singing.

The only acting I've seen Taeyeon do is a cute celebrity cameo (as herself) in the 2015 IU series 'The Producers'.

She did act in one play when she was young titled Midnight Sun based on a Japanese novel, but she didn't enjoy the experience, and she refused to repeat it. She did play herself in a couple of cameos and had a bit part in a soap opera… she did well, but all she ever wanted to do is be a singer, and she is such a very good singer, THAT's all she has ever had to do. An audience member recorded her performance, and it was translated, which is how I saw it. but I doubt very much if it's still available.

just saying this, but Taeyeon is not interested in acting. She did a musical several years ago, but she said she didn't like the experience because she found it hard to focus on acting and singing at same time. As someone mentioned, the only times she did serious acting were her short cameo appearances in a kdrama and a film. She mostly focuses on singing career, unlike some of her fellow Girls' Generation members.
