As a paralyzed disabled veteran, I've learned to just keep my mouth shut, respect all people, and try to educate myself as much as possible. I'm not able to travel very far but being from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Myrtle Beach Bike Week has always been one of the best times ever.

My apologies for your disabilities. Just take one day at a time. Once you get your strength back then come on back to Myrtle Beach. Because MB is still alot of fun.

Disables as well, & jonesing for 2 wheels so damn bad, I'm bout ready to take a hostage or something.
Anyway, I give everybody due respect just for being a fellow human bean, & leave it to them to earn my disrespect. Should that happen, I just disassociate from them as much as possible because, despite the well articulated arguments from the voices in my head, most idiots are not worth wearing orange over.

That's really cool that you go into such detail about all the respect aspects of the culture, because as long as I've been around it, nobody has ever brought to light the whole "name dropping" topic while I've been at clubhouses and parties or get togethers of any sort. And the way you discuss it in many different videos makes a lot of sense. For years I had no clue I was doing anything wrong by saying I knew someone. Thank you for shedding light on a subject that is clearly not discussed near enough in my area among the community

Shout out from Bangkok, Thailand. Thanks for representing the best of MC. Thanks for helping educate about subjects that most just go violent about.
Just to share my experience of the clubs here ... most (I would say 'all' but nothing is absolute) of the clubs here are about service to the community for those who are old, sick or poor.
Not many 'gatherings' or 'rides' that include thousands that I've been to - but I'm a newbie here (10 yrs in country) - looking forward to what this 63yr old can see next year.
Thanks for the work that you and your organization do. I am familiar.

Life was so much simpler in the 60s and 70s when me and me Greaser mates rode. We were the filthiest bunch of saddle tramps you could ever meet. We never wore a back patch, but we wore the front two diamond patches, 13 and 1%, simply because we smoked the M and never followed any rules other than our own. We had no leader, but the toughest guys were sorta looked up to as being just that. All of our parents had suffered through the second world war in some way or other, and though we hated Germans we wore Nazi helmets, swastika arm bands, etc etc. There were never less than 50 of us whenever we went on weekend runs, and we camped and partied in any field we chose. There were several patched MCs around the area and not one of them ever bothered us. By all appearances we looked the same, acted the same, believed in the same way of life. Those free days are well gone now, disappeared like wind across the buffalo grass.

I've been riding fifty years, out of Chicago, and currently N.C. as an independent, but have interacted with patch holders since the beginning, at fifteen. I have ceased to be shocked by the ignorance of so many who somehow presume status they will never earn. I'm a retired marine, got several brothers who either are with a patch or used to and find myself pulling back ever more as I get older. I've done the "Sturgis thing" from here twice, numerous trips to the left coast and interfaced with several clubs with nary a bit of issue. The patch holding has gotten ever more enticing with age and the ignorance moving into our world. I've been enjoying your videos for a couple months, well said.

I recently put LA chopper 16” apes on my 14 Heritage. I used the stock riser. I can tell you that you will need to push the bars forward or your back will kill you. Originally, I wanted the bars inline with the forks for a smooth look, but I found myself having to ride and hold myself up with the grips at the same time. I pushed them forward a little, much like a Vicla and it’s much better for my riding position. Mine aren’t way forward but somewhat forward.

I'm just seeing this vid cuz I'm a new subscriber to the channel. You have to put the solid bushings in if you're using tall bars due to the extreme leverage when pulling or pushing on the bike. I just put 16" Carlini gangster apes on my 96 softail and used the solid riser bushings and there is no "squishy" feel at all especially when you're pulling on them to reposition yourself and there's no excessive vibration even with the solid mount Evo.
The Carlini risers are drilled underneath for a tapered set screw that you can drive into the surface of the bar without drilling your expensive bars and they're hidden so that's a plus. I cranked down on the bolts holding the bars in place and they don't move period!!! 🤘

Way back in the dark ages I saw a similar type of doofus approach a few guys from a local club. One of the club members listened to him for a few minutes nodding and then said in what I thought was a meaningful way, "I think you might have had too much to drink, maybe we can talk again when you're sober" and walked off. I thought that was a pretty classic move; it allowed the doofus to correct his tact with minimal face loss and avoided conflict in what was a very public situation, yet conveyed the reality of the situation.
I would like to think the doofus got the message, especially as there was no alcohol at the site.

You mentioned bushings at the end of this video. First, I am not a wrench, by any stretch of the imagination. And my Googling skills stink on ice. So, I have ordered some risers for my new '22 FXLRST. Do you have a recommendation of a really good set of bushings for when I change out the risers? Any help is much appreciated.

I teach a college criminal justice class.
A couple years back, I had a student with a slight case of asperger. He was extremely high-functioning, and intelligent for the most part.
When the class had to do case study presentations on a criminal gang or organization, he chose HA.
When he gave his presentation, I had to keep stopping him and correcting what he was saying. Absolutely everything he shared was wrong. I think he got it from some movie, but even then it was so far from accurate I just don't know.
Toward the end he tried to claim that he himself was a ranking member of the MC.
At that point I ended his presentation, and pulled him aside to have a conversation.
I warned him how dangerous what he was saying was. I explained that making such a claim, if it was ever repeated and got back to the wrong people, could actually get him injured.
The little 18-year-old psychopath stood by his word. He said smugly that I may not believe what he was telling me, but it was in fact true.
I've always hoped that he overcame that Insanity at some point, because I'm sure if he didn't he'd someday pay the price.
Haven't seen him in a couple years, so who knows.

Damn. That is unfortunate. Same as the stolen valor guys. The problem is some of them actually believe their own stories so to them it's true.

    • @cjhproductions5677

@@ProfessionalMonkey yeah honestly, because of his condition, that might have been true for him too. It's sad because people who haven't grown up around street code don't know how dangerous running their mouth can be.
Love your channel man. Had family in the life, and never had a bad encounter with an MC myself. Keep on keeping on, friend. 👍
