I am so happy more people are catching onto this show. Hands down the best television of my generation - not to lay claim, this show is for everyone, but I came up watching it and it was so much like my own city that I fell in love with it. One thing I will say is that it is a slow burn with a lot of moving parts, covering everything from the street corners to the police headquarters to city hall. Please stick with it all the way through, I promise it will pay off in the end.
YAY! This, and Deadwood, are the two series that I always come back to every few years and re-watch just to be in those worlds again. Such truly epic stories, like Shakespeare's best stuff: violence and tragedy and comedy and a deep look at what brings people together and what tears them apart.
I also recommend watching the series Rome, it was actually the first great series I got into, with some wonderful characters and a great attention to historic detail.

@@Dakblasta Deadwood is one you will probably come back to a few times. I really liked getting into the commentaries with the various actors and production staff, especially moments where the actor you are watching in Deadwood is wrapped up in conversation and then something important would happen and they would realize the conversation was wandering and laugh. The set design, lighting, camera work, and background "business" in Deadwood makes it feel like a real place (minus a few CG shots that are forgivably dated), and the characters, acting, and dialogue make almost every scene a masterpiece.

you’re gonna love this show! Certain seasons are better than others. What’s crazy is how good the British actors are doing the American accents, especially Mcnullty and stringer bell.

To clarify, The Wire isn't really a detective story. It's about the decline of the American city. The first season is about how the police are failing.

This series was structured like a Shakespearean sonnet about any American city, but specifically Baltimore. Seeing unlikely characters interact or have impact from what seems are different stories are some of my favorite moments.
I didn't watch this show until it had gone off the air. I just bought season 1 on DVD to watch while on vacation & was instantly hooked! I just stumbled across your channel & subscribing because you are doing The Wire. This show is very well done! Please binge watch & put up 2 episodes per reaction. Then after the series finale read up on the real life backgrounds of the actors. It may blow your mind.
This seaspn of the show does a GREAT job showing how the instition of Policing, with all it's flaws, stacks up to the intititution of the street. It's a slow burn, but you REALLY has to keep up because everyone and everything might come back later making this show extremely re-watchable.

YES! Great series. Haven't seen this one in years, so will enjoy to follow along. I felt season 2 was a little weaker than the others - season 5 gets a little preposterous - but that's just nit picking. It's great television.

If you like detective shows your going to fall in love 😂 this show is about details! It’s not the fastest pace but the story lines characters and acting is ELITE and when the action does come it really hits hard you did a good job catching on
Its very much not a detective show though.

Girl, this is one the most complex shows in terms of amount of characters, institutions and plot lines. And they don’t try to make it accessible. Many people got lost in first episode, including me.
And you, with your understanding, you’re killing it. Quicker than me on my first time or any reaction I’ve seen. You’re also on point with some guesses, which you don’t even know about.

This show really touches on everything, from the detectives to the police to the criminals to the addicts to the judges to city hall to lobbyists. I was a huge fan when it came out, but I hope it can stand the test of time for a new viewer. Interested to see what you think of it!
1) That is the best tv show i've watch. Characters are deep. Plot is brilliant. Dialogue are realistic. Emotions are high.
2) For a pilot reaction, i feel your analysis is smart and you will be able to have nuances reflexions, not everything is white or black.
3) I subscribe, good journey. You will never forget this show. It's not a typical cop show.
No spoilers of course. This is less a detective show and more about the city of b-more.
Love this show, so grounded. Couldnt even get into breaking bad after this show since it made breaking bad look so Hollywood to me.
i had to let go of the idea that The Wire is a standard that other writers aspire for. it's the only way i could enjoy other great shows for what they are, that are very Hollywood in comparison, because The Wire is just too real to expect from other shows to replicate

That's not good about Breaking Bad. I was thinking of watching that soon as I missed it when it was on.
Maybe I'll just watch The Wire again instead. You never get tired of watching a masterpiece.

Great choice checking out this show. There's a reason it's known as one of the greatest series of all time. Every second of it beats a lot of modern TV by a mile. How you enjoy it. I know I'll enjoy watching you react to it.

It took me a couple of attempts to get into The Wire at first, I had it pegged as a poor man's The Shield but it's easily my favourite TV show now. The writing, the performances, the themes.... so much to sink your teeth into if you put the time in. Hope you stick with it 🤞
I hightly recommend you to watch till the end,its slow but it pays off later,its the best narrative ive ever seen in a tv series,not only a story about crime and police investigation,its also an society study and analysis,to me 10/10

Enjoyable reaction.
This show is the best show of ALL TIME easily but requires your attention, it's a slow paced show but the characters are so complex. The writing is chef's kiss worthy. It's one of those shows where ypu will be saying lines from it years after you watch it.

After watching LM reactions react to this show, I've become somewhat spoiled. Their deep analysis of each episode is the pride of their channel. You should check them and learn a thing or 2. Ending your reaction without any thoughts on the episode is anticlimactic.
I enjoy LM but they talk too much before, during, & after their reactions. If they were to dial it down just a bit then it would be my favorite reaction channel.

If you've already watched the show their reacting to, why are you watching with them but complain about them talking over the show? It makes no sense. Just watch the show on your own.
