There’s no end. When my wife came here as an Actual Immigrant, I had to promise she would receive NO social services for 3 Years.
When my wife, as a child, escaped Hungary with her parents during the 1956 Revolution there were rules they had to follow. The family had to be living on their own (NOT with relatives or sponsors) within 3 months. At least one member had to be taking English lessons. The children had to be in school. They received NOT ONE PENNY of government money. They had to check in weekly. If these conditions weren't met they were subject to being sent back. They were ok with this because they were grateful to be safe in the U.S.A. Now "newcomers" get showered with "freebies" and still complain.

This reminds me of DeSantis and his reckless spending of tax payer money. Public records show the state paid a private contractor, Vertol Systems Inc., an aircraft solutions provider, $615,000 to transport the migrants to Martha's Vineyard. That's $12,300 per migrant.
Plus, that apartment building will take YEARS to build. This problem needs solving NOW.
The dim strategy is to throw millions or billions at the problem, and we pay the bill.

There are many businesses that are having a difficult time finding workers. A preschool I worked at just closed because they couldn’t find anyone. Some of the public schools are not only not able to find teachers to work, they can’t find substitutes!

I have lived in LA County Ca for a long time. Ca is a great place to live if you are: # 1. Rich, because $ is no object to you. # 2. If you are poor, because the government will give you everything you need for free. Ca is not a good place to live if you are: 1. the middle class, because Ca government is going to tax you into the poor class............PS, I am in the process of moving out of Ca. I have had enough.
I'm moving to Oklahoma. Gasoline is $2.65 a gallon and made locally. You don't need to deal with OPEC or those whacko Arabs. A home costs $300,000, and you can live like a king. I own a Mercedes-Benz 420 SEL sedan, and I can put a European license plate in the front.

I got a letter from Allstate Insurance Co who told me they were not renewing my home owners insurance policy in Sept after being with the company for 28 years. I tried to get a new policy and shopped around. Not a single company would write me a policy. I still have a small mortgage on my house. When you still have a mortgage, you have to have home insurance because its part of the contract when you sign the mortgage loan.
So I got a letter from the bank holding the mortgage stating that I needed home insurance and they wanted me to send them proof of home insurance, otherwise they (Allstate) would assign me a policy and that it would probably be at a higher premium.
When my insurance was about to expire, I called Allstate and inform them of my situation (not being able to find a company that would write me a policy). The bank forced their home owner insurance on me (one that I never heard of). I went from paying $1800.00 a year with Allstate to $5600.00 for the policy that the bank assigned to me with some insurance company that I never heard of. The policy I got with the bank is inferior to the one I had with Allstate.
I was so ticked off and began to complain. I talked to me neighbor while walking my dog last week and complained to her about my home insurance. She told me that she too lost her home owners insurance policy that she had with State Farm Insurance Co for over 30 years. She used to pay around $2400.00 a year with State Farm. Now she pay just over $10,000.00 a year. I did not ask what insurance company she is now with. I stopped complaining about the $5600.00 after my neighbor told me she is now payiing over $10,000.00 a year.
I will not get into the details because it would be too long of a comment. But the reason for the home owners insurance crisis in Ca is due to the policies of the Ca insurance commissioner and Ca state government. They caused the problem for home owners insurance, and autos too.
Will they even be built? My best guess is the money will all be spent and nothing will be built. Several years ago a fellow was building tiny homes for the homeless. But since they weren’t approved, the city/state gathered them all up and eventually trashed them. Then somebody in state government got the bright idea to build tiny houses for the homeless. The money was approved. The money was spent. And no tiny houses were ever built.

In North Carolina a lot of places were built for those that don’t have to pay. We call them the projects. Some were built as far back as the 60s. Year by year they are wrecked and look terrible. One huge one had to be abandoned because it was shambles. These housing projects are very nice and even landscaped pretty on day one. People never appreciate anything they don’t earn. You can ride by any, in any town , and you know it is the ‘projects’ by the deteriorating appearance of the whole subdivision.

I live with a woman who is a retired United States Air Force Officer. She is a lieutenant colonel, and we are living together. I am on her veterans benefits, and I get to shop at the PX and commissary. Her home is the Department of Veterans Affairs. She makes good money through her civilian job, and she draws a pension.
Isn’t LA’s skid row one of the most dangerous places in LA? So high rises are supposed to fix the mental illness? Lots of questions with probably little or no answers.
What exactly do you think should be done? Do you think all homeless people are crazy? I mean why are you people always against trying to fix the problem.
