    I own more than a 1,000 lbs. of The Strength Co. plates and they fit perfectly on all 10 of my barbells which are from multiple high quality companies, e.g. Rogue, Texas Power Bar, Kabuki, EliteFTS, and The Strength Co. I would imagine if you stay away from the cheap stuff you will be just fine. I'm personally not aware of anyone who has had an issue with them when paired with a high quality barbell. American Barbell makes great equipment and there plates are no exception. I find that most opinions regarding strength equipment is somewhat subjective anyway. I dont regret my purchase one bit and would purchase them again if given the choice. Love the chanel and appreciate your opinion on the matter.

      Ya this was one shocked me but it's true and also what makes the Strength Co plates so great! They are made the tightest tolerance of any plate out there making them one of the best performance plates you can buy. However as video's have proven the slightest extra amount of Cerakote on a Rogue bar for example will make them a real pain to slide on and off or machined lip on sleeve that's higher than normal. The point of my channel is to give honest reviews which we all can appreciate. I have no doubt your feedback is solid and really appreciate comments like yours to discuss it. I've been wrong in the past and like the accountability.

    Great video and great plates. American barbell makes top tier equipment. Just received a new barbell from them and the build quality is much better than rogue and Kabuki.
    One note however, the standard diameter of Olympic plates are 17.72"/450mm for 45s

    Setting all those plates up for the video must have been a decent workout in itself! Urethane plates with the steel inserts are awesome for easy handling and quietness. I prefer bare steel plates for my home gym cause I like the sound, old school feeling, etc. I have a lot of the deep dish Rogue plates and their coatings are holding up very well after a year plus, but I'm not pushing them across asphalt or rough concrete. For commercial gyms, I always preferred the urethane plates for sound and handling and I agree those are the best style for the gym atmosphere you are creating.
    My gym atmosphere is more like Dante's inferno - just missing the sign that says "abandon all hope ye who enter here."

    This was an awesome review and these plates look great. I would say the Rogue Urethane Six Shooters are a great option too. I have the Ivanko version of those but they’re rubber.
    To be honest, you were one of my favorite reviewers but I stopped watching you for a few months since it seemed you were shilling hard for Rep (more so on IG than here) but it was really refreshing seeing you talk about American Barbell so I’m looking forward to seeing them featured more. The Rep love is understandable since they make good products and have a lot of new ones coming, but it felt like it was getting shoved down my throat a bit by you. Hope you don’t mind this criticism!

      @MacStrengthCo  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I love your honesty brother!! Here’s something to think about “the other popular” channels take free equipment and get paid to do reviews. All my reviews are stuff I bought which happens to be a lot of REP gear! I totally get it and with all the new rep gear coming out this year (which I ordered) had me really pumped and probably posted too much on REP stuff! Guilty.

      @jamestonbellajo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MacStrengthCo thanks for the reply and understanding! I definitely can see your genuine approach to reviewing which is why I love your content. It’s great to see honest, detailed and approachable reviews so keep it up. It’s as important to be as true to yourself as it is to your audience and I know you cover both bases.
      I’m actually talking more about the reposting and hyping up of everything Rep posts on IG and not actual reviews you do. It was a little overwhelming for me personally, but I know it comes from a good place for you so I can’t really be that critical about it. I’m not even hating on Rep either since I have a lot of their equipment and have the same opinions as you do for a lot of them.
      Regardless, you for sure are one of the good ones. You’re truthful. You know your audience. You have a great gym and setup. And you’re actually strong! Keep it up man.

    Great vid. I own the same plates and couldn’t agree with you more. I love the fact that they have stainless steel inserts and wont chew up my barbell sleeves when loading. I understand and agree with your reasons for getting coated plates with grip holes, but why American Barbell Rubber grip plates specifically compared to the direct competitors you showed in the video like Rogue urethane 6 shooters, Rep urethane equalizers, Troy rubber grip, etc?

    • @MacStrengthCo
      @MacStrengthCo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Reps would be my recommendation but they were sold out. Rogues are nice also. American barbell plates have a long lasting reputation for quality where they others are somewhat new. Troy’s design just not as nice but that’s just me.

    You can put 7 deep dish 45lb plates on each end of a power bar with 2 inches left for ccollars (about 675 lbs). But if you're like me, that will only work for high rep days 🤪
