The number of times this car will be used to have a picnic let alone driven is almost a negative number

When I read it's called a boat tail for $20 mil, I thought it would be a car that transitions to a boat, but to find out the only thing special is that it has a pop out picnic table is ridiculous.
It’s a one off bespoke piece from one of the most highly renowned car companies in the world, its not exactly going to be cheap. Like they said in the video, this was four years in the making. £20 million could be argued to be a bargain.

Being poor you do not understand the functionality of this car and the features. The owners would be attending events such as Goodwood where the car would be parked on grass. The parasol helps keep people cool while chatting in the hot sun and the access to quick cold drinks is essential. There would be many events where they would be standing around having a chat and become peckish. Pebble beach is another perfect example of when these features would be used. I could see the owner using this function at least half a dozen times per year while attending events.
I get that these comments are "jokes" but they also stem from your own experiences, which is fine. Most people would not understand why a kitchen is useful in the back of a Rolls Royce. Let's start with the fact that most people will never even sit in a Rolls Royce, let alone be on the grass at Pebble beach.

This is the clear confirmation that I'm living in a completely different world with the owners of such car. Not just because of the car price. I tried to imagine the scenario of using the "boat tail picnic zone" in a real life, but failed. I have a practical experience in all three areas - cars, sailing yachts, picnics - but I can't put this puzzle from RR together...
Also the amount of space it takes up versus how little really is there. It is just a 7 inch layer of cutlery and such that takes up a space that could have been 2 foot deep. It seems such a waste of space. Why have two bottles of champagne laying when you could have fit 6 bottles standing. There should have been some mechanism lifting the first layer up and to the side exposing a bottom layer at least. Or use the space below to have a bench for seating that would extend out above the bumper that would also be filled with items if you opened the lid on the bench.
I think it will be this scenario where a billionaire is tired of the view on his 230m yacht parked in Monaco docks and takes his 20m rolls to a different place 5 miles away.

need? 20 million dollar cars so they can show off their “success” to the abused.” No sane and righteous rich person would even consider buying one of these in our times. Some day these buyers will meet their reckoning.

Where do you draw that conclusion? I am speaking about a highly disconnected social elite which often more destructively rather than constructively of society gains their status, than continues to abuse the system until it fails. I am not against rich people per definition I am against rich people who do not contribute positively to society and withdraw actively out of pure self gain. I hope you see the problem here.
It’s based on the last gen phantom platform which is also used in the BMW 7 series. Don’t know why they used last gen chassis for the new car. They should have used the new gen phantom chassis instead

Forget the car, who did the lighting for this shoot? Holy cow. Rolls must have their own guy they send out, maybe a guide book.
If this car was under 5 million i would say its worth it. the interior is just taken from the previous gen Phantom drophead and the chassis is also shared. If it was a all new and all exclusive chassis and had a new interior (new seats, new dash, new tech, new suspension, and etc,) I would say its worth it.
