Did you have any problems running the 35x12.5 tires on the stock wheels, I’m upgrading and don’t want to spend extra for the new wheels at the moment unless I have to
Chevy and Campbell Offroad the spare tire on the back is for a Chevy Blazer, an awsome truck like that and Chevy builds no Blazer two-door ZR2, come on Chevy, not everyone wants the whole line to be a family truckster.
Nice video! How’s the BDS kit? Did the 35 run pretty bad after you did some trimming? Sorry for all the questions. Not a lot out there and I have a 21 Bison coming I want to do the same thing to. Thanks for your help in advance!!
The BDS kit is great quality, almost nothing bad to say about it other than cost and loosing gas mileage. There is very little trimming required to fit 35s, no rubbing after that
Yeah it was disappointing to install the BDS lift and then have to trim. It’s almost impossible to get those skinny little flares to flex perfectly without creating undesirable spacing between the flare and the fender. The bison flares are a bit wider so they may flex better (or worse). I plan to install AEV highmark flares on my wife’s 19 Bison next.
Cam M what wheels are you running? I am having a hard time finding 17x9 or 17x8.5 with 4.5” backspacing. I find some with 17x8.5 with 4.75” not sure of those will fit with 35” tires.
KrazyTommyGunn Hughes for now I have the stock wheels with 1.75” spacers. I plan to go with AEV’s Crestone wheels but I’m not sure if that will require some spacing also or not.
@@krazytommygunnhughes856 So my wife traded in her Bison. Before letting her do that, i converted my truck into a Bison, then traded her ZR2. The Bison wheels require less spacing but still not recommended to run with the BDS lift without adding a spacer. I recommend you just add a 1” minimum spacer with Bison wheels.
I know it's been a couple years now since this post, but question do you still have this truck, and would you be willing to sell it? It is a sweet ride and I've been looking lately at the ZR2 with similar set up as yours.
Novice Question: when going with 4"lift and 35" tires, did you have to upgrade your brakes and Gear ratio to compensate? I feel like many videos do not mention this or talk about it. Thoughts?
Brakes are not needed, gears are definitely recommended with the gas V6, the diesel does okay with the stock gears, but either engine is better with 4.10
Nice video Kyle. Want to add a Readylift 1.25” front level kit to my 2020 Zr2. Any issues doing so ? With premature parts failure or using front lockers ? I don’t off road or rock crawl with the truck . Thanks for any help
I have had the readylift level on my truck for over 10,000 miles including rock crawling and jumping it, no issues! Only premature wear is it’s not uncommon for the seals on the cv boot to leak grease from the steeper angle, had to fix one about 2,000 miles after installing the level
Skip that mod and go straight to the peak adjustable coil over springs. This will be compatible with the BDS lift too. I’m trying to talk Kyle into shooting a part 2... my latest mods will answer a TON of questions in the comments.

This ain't a rough around the edges K5 Blazer where my mistakes are fixed with another $25 fender .
This truck has the 2.8l diesel, not the V6. In my opinion the diesel is the best option for this truck and i owned both the V6 and diesel ZR2’s at the same time. Night and day different!
Just ordered the HDDiesel tune. Fuel economy on the highway stock was around 30mpg, after the lift and tires it went down to about 22mpg. Hoping the tune and exhaust gets me closer to 30 again... more to follow!
On the hwy at 55 I’m now getting 30mpg again! I’m normally driving 50mi to work on a 70mph hwy where i set the cruise to 65mph. At that speed I’m now getting 25mpg
