Upgrading to the Cade 900 - Leak to Sleek

- Cam is called to install a new Cade aquarium system in place of a VERY old (nearly a decade!) Aqua Reef, its finally seen its last days and things are starting to fail.. like the sump!
We see a unique makeshift sump to fill the time between the leak and the new install! its a huge job!

The screw in plastic cade hose clamps break super easy. I have the same tank that I set up just under a month ago and all broke already. Switched to Bunnings black hose clamps and so far so good. Love the cades but those hose clamps suck

Shoes definitely exist here in Australia. Our culture is becoming less oppressive towards feet and more people are becoming aware of what we call the “barefoot brigade”. This movement has been growing for several years now, and we hope to have shoes made optional in all public areas by 2030. Cam

What I use to scoop out the sand from tanks is a metal fry basket from a restaurant. I flatten down the sides some and use it as a scooper. Water falls out and sand stays behind. The one I use is a triangular shaped one with very small perferations. Works great and I've been using it for the past 10 yrs.

Cam, when you ordered the Cade could you stipulate the electrics board be on the left side of the case and on hinges so you can swing it out to enable full access to the sump and electrics from the side and front?
No, they’re always this way. We don’t really need access to the power board anyway. Cam

Seems that you can't even get your arm to the side to blindly try to press buttons on that power center, why wasn't the tank rotated 90 degrees?
Either way one of the side doors were going to clash with a wall. We decided we didn’t really need to access the buttons as most of the gear will be controlled by an app. Cam
