I am not a metal fan, and I had to go out to the Internet to listen to the original. By the way it is amazing even though it’s heavy-metal which is not my thing. But the lyrics are outstanding as is the music. So I’m really glad that my favorite a cappella group decided to cross genres and do this.
Normally they are a cappella and use vocal percussion as well as claps, stomps etc. They’ve only used the violin in one other piece which is amazing, which was the cover of Warriors originally done by Imagine Dragons.
They also did a tremendous cover of Dream On. Even though Eli (rhymes with jelly), the bald tenor, usually covers the high tenor, Cesar, the guy with all the hair wanted to try. Even though he’s technically their baritone, and their guest artist was also a high tenor, they let him try and he nailed it.
I hope you’ll cover more Voice Play, and wanted you to know that the bass, Geoff Castellucci has a solo channel as well.
