BTW guys, pls keep the default tensioner. The idea is NOT to replace the old tension, but just to augment it. So the new tension works hand-in-hand with the default tension. If you find the new tension too tight, you can loosen up the original tensioner. If you want the new tension to be much more resistive, adjust the default tensioner by increasing (tightening) the adjuster clockwise. On the mod side, you can use a 3mm Allen Key on the ballpoint grub screw to adjust the tension as well as the detent hold and "click".
Hi, amazing! So nice work, you have make! You are magician😀. I think a silicone grease is ideal for acrylic-steel coupling. Have you ever thought about doing all the mods for TCA pack (Throttle detents, ENG sws, Spoiler arm, Flaps detents, P.Brake)? You could propose offers for a single mod (with work performed) or for all of them. Interested customers would send you the TCA for required mod or all mods available. So you would send it back modified. What do you think about this idea? Best Regards and Happy New Year!
Many thanks for your amazing work. I have just installed this mod on my TCA quadrant. Really like the improved tension and detents, as well as the increased lever range between idle and the climb detent. I found initially that the tension was too strong (even after adjusting the TCA tension screw). Loosening the grub screw improved the tension but then the detents were not ‘snappy’ enough. The solution I found was to apply a little grease to the acrylic detent plates. I now have the perfect balance of tension and snappy detents. Also I found that I couldn’t select full reverse as the 3d printed blocks were fouling with the lip on the thrustmaster side panels. I removed the interfering plastic with a Stanley knife and now get full reverse. Thanks again for all your work!
Hi Richard, Thank you for the support. I am glad that like many others, it also worked for you! As to the tensions, yes that is a perfect solution you found. I actually do the same with my unit - applying some grease on the plate where the ballpoint makes contact. However, I didn't mention that in the video as per my observation, after a few days of usage, the "too tight" tension seems to lighten up a bit to the "right force" IMO :) As to the 3D plastic hitting the a lip on the panel sides, that is a GOOD FIND! Thank you! I will make revisions to the models to slice a tiny bit from its corners so allow enough clearance on the full reverse position. It's funny how I ignored this little resistance at the full rev but i had it corrected by just yanking the handles all the way down. In a way, it also adds a bit of positive effect on me without realizing that contact was causing it, thanks again! Did you get the downloadable version? I will send you a revised STL file and also will update the one in the store. Thanks again and enjoy the new feel of the TCA.
I just got the mod today. As VA pilot who predominantly flies Airbus, this is one of the best mods for the TCA pack. Thanks Santi! I appreciate your hard work.
Just wanted to thank you for this mod. I had the shapeways mod off etsy for a couple years. That was a step forward. But this is yet another step forward. Nice work sir. Very happy I bought it. Highly recommend.
I bought the files from your store and had an acrylic service cut the plates and brackets for me and sourced the ball grub screws from amazon. Fantastic MOD! I love it!!😁😁😁
Got this mod today an for me its the best Throttlemod so far! The feeling of the Thottle detends are great. All Parts fits well and its easy to install. Thank you for this andfor the really fair price.
I just installed my kit after waiting for the various pieces to arrive from the 3d printing and cutting vendors I picked. I would have loved to get your kit directly, but shipping to the US was prohibitively expensive (which I completely understand.) The pieces were extremely simple to install. I checked your video to make sure the orientation for the grub screw holders was correct, otherwise everything snapped together easily. I *LOVE* the feeling with the kit installed. The stock Thrustmaster detents were pretty loose for me, even after tightening the tension pretty high. The detents are very snappy and I think I lucked into the right position of the grub screws in the holders and the stock tensioner. I am going to play with it a little as I expect them to wear in a little over time, but otherwise, this is a massive upgrade in feel. The vendor I picked had a minimum order value, so I ordered three pairs of the acrylic plates so that I could play with little changes to the detents, like perhaps adding a little chamfer to them or similar, but honestly I'm happy enough with the feel right now that I'm not sure I'm going to tune them right away. Useless trivia, but I thought it was funny, I got both items produced in blue (the acrylic and the grub holders) and while they're not Airbus blue, they're pretty nice to see. I didn't think it was a big deal, but you can actually see the acrylic plates in the throttle slots from the side, and it's a fun detail. Edit: I have access to a vinyl printer, so I think I might print some of the decals with the new detent locations. Love the upgrade so far!
Thank you! I am glad it works for you :) Yes you can play around with the ballpoint grub screw adjustment to get the right feel that you prefer. You can also use the default tensioner in conjunction with the mod to further augment the tension 😅 I like your attention to the use of colored piece 👍🏻
@@ani5z The acrylic plates took only a few days. The 3d printed parts (the grub screw holders) took a little longer because they came from an overseas vendor (which I didn't know at the time) but everything still came within 2 weeks. I've done a bunch of flights since installing them and I'd still recommend this to anyone with a TCA throttle.
I just finished the mod and congratulate SL3 for the excellent engineering. I have several thousand hours flying the 319/320 and the mod gets you close to the real thing. Most importantly it gets rid of the "toy" feeling from the throttles. I lubricated the plates with lithium grease and drove the tensioner to full. Tension feels close to the real thing now. I found that I needed to spend some time getting the grub screw just right. Too much extension and the throttle arm is pushed against the case and rubs. Too little and the grub bracket gets pushed out of the throttle arm. I think this is the best solution for these throttles. In the real airplane the throttle quadrant is much bigger and the throttles smoother. But they probably cost a million dollars. But the SL3 mod is great. Highly recommended!

High Sven, I'm glad your 3D-printed version works for you! I still don't release it officially, but I think some hard FDA filaments may work just fine, I just don't have a test case for them so I didn't want to compromise. If it works for you, why not? :) Thanks for the info.
Update: With New A320 v2 inibuild msfs Sup15 update on xbox NOW the mod is working perfectly. I love it. The detents are nice and strong and feels like you are controlling real aircraft. Definitely increases simulation immersion. TIPS: After installing the detents mod, go to sensitivities and decrease throttle sensitivities in about half. Then go to a320 EFB and MAKE SURE to calibrate the throttle detents!
Thanks Guy ! It seems really fantastic. Great job. I already install your spoiler Arm system in my TCA and it is amazing. Really immersive. I saw your shop but the shipping cost are too high , 60 € for France 😨😨.

Hi, the file for the acrylic template, how do I know the size? I sent it to a company to print and they asked me how many millermeters for the acrylic sheet. They said I will need to convert the svg file to a DWG OR DXF file. How can I do this?
Hi Hugo, may I know your email address (or can you email me at santiagoluib3@gmail.com ) and I will send you the dimensions with daigram. But, your printers shouldn't worry about it, they just have to send it to the laser as the file is already the exact measure :)
Hello friend, excellent video, thank you very much for sharing, I want to purchase that kit, but I live in Mexico and apparently they do not ship to Mexico, where else can I buy it? Thank you very much in advance for your help, greetings.❤️
Hello Santi First of all - Thank you for your great work - for the development and release of the "Detent and Tension mod for the Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant". It's amazing what a difference that makes. This feeling of pressing against a hydraulic damper - just good. A thin film of silicone damper grease "XY-2" works wonders to prevent the ball screw from scratching. At “Chinese Ali” for $4. My thoughts on this conversion - I had the plates lasered according to your template at a local laser company for only €21 including postage and packaging. The locking for the clb and mct could be a bit tighter. I experimented with different settings of the ball. But I think the recess in the side panel is still a bit too narrow. In my opinion, the detent for "IDLE REVERSE" could be the same as the other two detents. That's just my opinion... I'll grind the two notches for FLX and MCT a little further. I still have a reserve in case that doesn't work. Simply swap the two side panels from left to right and vice versa ;-) Greetings and stay healthy Detlef from Germany
Hi @honkfrohn4493 Thank you for the feedback! It is nice for you to express what you think and what other possible ways this mod can be improved. This is the first feedback about the detent plates I got after hundreds of people have bought or downloaded the mod. I assume you used 3mm acrylic? So far, the other feedback were good, so I guess it depends on personal preference and I understand perfectly. Let me see how I can help. If you can email me at santiagoluib3@gmail.com i can possibly send you a revised version of the plates according exactly to your specifications, if you need one :) Thanks again!
Hello mate my tension broke off because I tightened a bit more that it was supposed to be done. I would love if you post a fix or if you could tell me if the detent plates would be a good fix for my situation
Hi @de_consultant, Sorry to hear you broke the tension. It happened to me too before I made this mod as I wanted the tension to be much more resistive :D But even if it's broken I no longer needed it as this Detent-Tension mod provides the "right" amount of tension IMO at the default ballpoint setting. If you email me at santiagoluib3@gmail.com we can discuss our options how to work around with it ;) Looking forward to hear from you. Thanks!
Good day! Thank you so much for your talented work! I bought the files and plan on getting the acrylic cut in the coming weeks. I can see the detent for idle, but where is the detent for idle reverse? Would it not be next to the idle detent? Again, thank you for your work! :) Cheers from Wisconsin, US, ~ Ben
Hi, The detent is for the reverse idle. Unfortunately there is no detent for the normal idle. We already have the default stopper as the idle. Hope that helps.
Hi @@brentrottie521 . Sorry I don't understand why they need the dimensions. If you gave them the SVG file they should be able to figure out how big of an acrylic they need to cut the pieces. Anyways, to answer your question, each acrylic piece requires 10cm x 5cm of acrylic :) And there's 4. Hope that helps! Let me know if they still have problem. Cheers!
Thank you. I don't recommend 3D-Print for the detent plate. There is a reason for it :) I tried it, it develops score along the ballpoint path and eventually creates a mini "trench" along the ballpoint path. If such happens, you will loose the tension and the snappy/strong detents. Acrylic is the best material as it is smooth, and very hard, especially if you use the opaque white. :)
Hi, thank you for the purchase! I am sorry but I do not know of any online services for laser cutting, but for 3D printing services I would think it should be available in your region/city/town. Will you be able to check?
@@santiagoluib3 Yeah, sure! I think for 3d printing I can borrow one from a friend. BTW, is the version 2 of the ballpoint holder a better version, or can I just print the first version? And do you have any recommendations on how I can put threads for the ball point screw?
Hi @@inflightentertainment101 I recommend v2. :) You don't need to print/create the threads. The hole size is measured with tension such that when you screw in the ballpoints like wood screw, they "cut" their way creating threads in the process :)
Hello I bought your files but the site in where I want to print the plates, are asking me for stl files for it. Can you make it STL files for the plates? Another doubt is which of the Bollpoint Holder Brackets are the ones I have to print, the ones that are showing up as Ver2 or the other ones? And last but not least, what do you mean by acrilyc?
Please use the Ver2 of the BallPoint Holder Brackets . The detent plates should be in acrylic cut though a CO2 laser cutter/engraver, hence the SVG file. Please check if your area has CO2 laser cutting services. At this point I don't recommend the plates to be in FDA 3D-printed material as it wears along the detent holes. "Acrylic" is that clear or colored plastic material (seen in video) that is very tough, strong, smooth and versatile. Pls email me at santiagoluib3@gmail.com to discuss our options :) Thanks
Hi, the TM TCA Throttle is meant to be fixed once the mod is installed. Either you apply strong double-adhesive tapes at the base of the unit to fix on your desktop, or you use a bracket to hold the throttle in place. I'm sorry if this info is not mentioned but it is common understanding that the throttle be fixed in place. In fact, it is designed to be fixed even without the mod to keep it more stable and sturdy during operation. I hope that helps.
I would love to buy that one because it's amazing and adds a lot of realism but the shipping would cost me 4 times more than this mod to throttle :( That's sad
I didn't like the rates, really. From where I am in Southeast Asia the shipping rates for outside of my country is really painfully high and there's nothing I can do about it :( So sorry for how you feel. May i know from which country you are, if that's okay?
@@santiagoluib3 Yes it's totally okey :) I'm from Poland. And brother don't stop doing this stop because your project's are amazing and I really love them and love watching your videos.
@@wrona_enduro Thank you brother. If there is anything else I could do to reduce shipping cost, I will do it. I want ppl to have better experience with this throttle and for our hobby in general.
@@HubAir71 I perfectly understand and sorry about it. There's just nothing I can do about it. These regions in Southeast Asia almost have similar costs when shipping such parcels to US,Canada,UK, Europe. If I can find ways to reduce this, I'd definitely do it and update accordingly.
Hi, I am terribly sorry for this very late reply! There is a very good mod for the flaps on the TM TCA at cults3d - credits to TIMONHUG for creating it! I bought a copy and it is amazing! cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/working-a320-flap-lever-for-tca-quadrant-flight-simulator-thrustmaster . You may also find some sidestick mods there :)
Hi Anthony, would you be able to email me the order number? I will check with Postal Service office. Lately there was a series of long holidays in the Philippines that caused some delays of parcels (not only from my store but also other parcels in general). Add to that, PhilPost EMS does not operate on weekends. Nevertheless, if you can email me the details of your order, I will help to check with PhilPost on updates about your parcel. Sorry for this inconvenience.
Hi Isak, as long as TM TCA is supported by XBox (I haven't tried it), then yes this mod works. Calibration is within the A320 aircraft used, like if done in FenixA320 it's in the MCDU. With FBWA32NX, it's in the EFB.. I am yet unsure with the stock Asobo A320 though. :)
Such a shame about the shipping costs to Australia. Was about to purchase but cannot justify $111.00 AUD for shipping. That is over double the amount of the parts itself.
Perfectly understandable. I'm sorry, it's not mine to control :( You can wait a few more days when my UK distributor gives a green light, i am sure postage from UK-AUS must be much cheaper than what is it from my country. Or, if you can find a laser cutter in your area, you can get the downloadable STL, SVG files instead and just order the ballpoint grub screw. Lots of ppl opted for this and made it work! :)
Please, please release the version of it that keeps the original settings, especially now when msfs 2024 was released and it's not allowing the proper configuration. I absolutely hate the original feel of it.
Hi , in that case you don't need this mod 😊 The very idea behind this kit is to move the positions to be more realistic. In your case Just tighten up the tension adjuster at the front of the unit.
I took measurements and made a design in Photoshop for both left/right, then filled up a 8x12" area with these decals and have them printed on Vinyl UV sticker printer. I cut them manually for each peace for every Kit :)
Hi, sorry for this late reply. If XBOX supports the TM TCA straight from the box, then the mod works too! This mod is purely a physical enhancement that has nothing to do with the controller's firmware :) Hope that helps.
Hi, right now you can only get this from our online store, either in files (STL, CAD, SVG, PNG) or a DIY kit. Store link is in the video description. Thanks!

Hi Brent, yes they are included. I recommend (if you can find any in your area) to print the stickers on Vinyl UV stickers. They are much more durable, higher heat and moist resistant :)
Hi, one of your ballpoints maybe got stuck. It happens sometimes. Please open it again, and roll the tiny balls at the tip with your fingertip. You should feel the metal balls roll just like ballpoint pen. If not smooth, please apply a bit of oil at the tip while pressing and rolling the ballpoint. For more details, please email me at santiagoluib3@gmail.com
Don't get it if you have Xbox Series X MSFS 2020. I just got mine, was very excited. The detents feel really good and realistic. Unfortunately in Xbox MSFS A320 does NOT have a calibration within the aircraft and as a result you will still have an issue with throttle speed going from slow to "too fast" when switching. This is only better for people using PC MSFS 2020. XBOX SUCKSSSS.

That's just my opinion... I'll grind the two notches for FLX and MCT a little further. I still have a reserve in case that doesn't work. Simply swap the two side panels from left to right and vice versa ;-)
Greetings and stay healthy

Hi @honkfrohn4493 Thank you for the feedback! It is nice for you to express what you think and what other possible ways this mod can be improved. This is the first feedback about the detent plates I got after hundreds of people have bought or downloaded the mod. I assume you used 3mm acrylic? So far, the other feedback were good, so I guess it depends on personal preference and I understand perfectly. Let me see how I can help. If you can email me at santiagoluib3@gmail.com i can possibly send you a revised version of the plates according exactly to your specifications, if you need one :) Thanks again!
Awesome workings man.
Cheers from Wisconsin, US,
~ Ben
Hi, The detent is for the reverse idle. Unfortunately there is no detent for the normal idle. We already have the default stopper as the idle. Hope that helps.
hi can i make the acrylic black so it matches the inside of the throttle? Since i can see the plate from the outside
Yes you can. :)
Hi quick question, what are the measurements of the acrylic plates? The factory who will cut them for me is asking for it. Thx
3mm thickness.
@@santiagoluib3 Yeah I don't mean the thickness but the size of the item itself, what's the width and hight pls?
Hi @@brentrottie521 . Sorry I don't understand why they need the dimensions. If you gave them the SVG file they should be able to figure out how big of an acrylic they need to cut the pieces. Anyways, to answer your question, each acrylic piece requires 10cm x 5cm of acrylic :) And there's 4. Hope that helps! Let me know if they still have problem. Cheers!
@@santiagoluib3 I thought so too, but they just send me an email asking the dimensions. Thanks tho
Great job. Can you modify that all for 3D printer only? I dont have CO2 laser cutter.
I did it with PLA and I must say, it works very good. Only I printed with 50% infill 0.1 layer and I think it was 10 top layers
Do you think it could be possible to 3dprint the locking part it will make it much more accessible for people who can’t get there hands if acrylic
did you find a solution?
where did you get the vinyl decal? do you have a copy of it?
Hi, I made it the decals. If you downloaded the files, the decals is part of it :) You can email me so I can send you the decals files.
Thanks for this addon! Are there any online services that you recommend I use to 3d print and laser cut the parts? I downloaded your addon from Cults.
@@santiagoluib3 Ohhh, that's great! Thanks for the help!
Do you deliver to hungary?
hello, can i use m6 x 10 and edit the black piece file so i can print it with the depth of plus 2mm from the original? thx
Hi Pedro, I believe that is possible. Yes, you have to edit the black bracket to add 2mm from the original.
@@santiagoluib3 thank you
when will this kit be available again?
hi @micstatic, it will be available very soon as the parts are on their way. thanks!
Hi @micstatic, the stocks are back! :)
@@santiagoluib3 thanks. just ordered
Cool mod! I’ll order it from you
thank you!
Is there an alternative for the grub screw?
Sorry for this late reply. Unfortunately, I haven't thought of any alternative yet.
Could there be 3D print files for the sideplates?
Hi @tuuta123, Please email me I can send you a STL file for it, but no guarantee that it will perform as good as acrylic plates do .
Hello
I bought your files but the site in where I want to print the plates, are asking me for stl files for it. Can you make it STL files for the plates? Another doubt is which of the Bollpoint Holder Brackets are the ones I have to print, the ones that are showing up as Ver2 or the other ones? And last but not least, what do you mean by acrilyc?
Hi, please e-mail me at santiagoluib3@gmail.com
Please use the Ver2 of the BallPoint Holder Brackets . The detent plates should be in acrylic cut though a CO2 laser cutter/engraver, hence the SVG file. Please check if your area has CO2 laser cutting services. At this point I don't recommend the plates to be in FDA 3D-printed material as it wears along the detent holes. "Acrylic" is that clear or colored plastic material (seen in video) that is very tough, strong, smooth and versatile. Pls email me at santiagoluib3@gmail.com to discuss our options :) Thanks
I have a question. If you purchase the kit in your website, their are the physical things no? No the archive
So sorry for this very late reply! You will get the physical items. If you so wish, I could also provide your the files :) Thanks!
Did you 3d print the brackets? And is it included in the downloadable file?
Yes Tha bracket is included as an STL file for you to 3D print 😊
@@santiagoluib3Thank you! Much love for your work from indoneisa
@@santiagoluib3Btw, is there any other way for payments?
Sorry @@magnatife4349 , right now it's only PayPal
Can the kit be shipped to the US?
Yes it can 😊
how can i make it stay in place because its got so much tension that the whole thing just moves
I hope that helps.
i bought the model but it is not in dxf i cant print it in svg
My apologies for this very late reply. May I know if you managed to print it? If not pls email me I can send you a CAD file instead. :)
Can you make a version that will maintain the original detants so no calibration is required?
Xbox players can't do the calibration.
Hi Kreska, the whole point of this mod is to change the original detent so that it becomes similar to the real A320 throttle detents. :)
Hi Kreska, with the FS2020 SU15, calibration is now possible in XBOX. That means the this Mod now works in XBOX! :)
Same for me, the shipping costs are unaffordable, 60€ just for the shipment... just impossible!
Will there be any mod for the flaps or the joystick?
Hi, I am terribly sorry for this very late reply! There is a very good mod for the flaps on the TM TCA at cults3d - credits to TIMONHUG for creating it! I bought a copy and it is amazing! cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/working-a320-flap-lever-for-tca-quadrant-flight-simulator-thrustmaster . You may also find some sidestick mods there :)
genius
hi does the acrlyic sheet need to be smooth
Hi. The smooth surface is where the ballpoint runs on, so it is important to be smooth to feel smoothness in moving the levers.
I placed my order on the 28th of March and am still waiting for delivery, why is it taking so long ?
Hi Anthony, would you be able to email me the order number? I will check with Postal Service office. Lately there was a series of long holidays in the Philippines that caused some delays of parcels (not only from my store but also other parcels in general). Add to that, PhilPost EMS does not operate on weekends. Nevertheless, if you can email me the details of your order, I will help to check with PhilPost on updates about your parcel. Sorry for this inconvenience.

My fault I ordered the download instead, order now received, works good, thanks Santi 👍🏾
Can I use it for xbox series x. I mean how would I calibrate?
I forgot to update you, shipping to AU is now about 45% lesser than it used to be :)
Please, please release the version of it that keeps the original settings, especially now when msfs 2024 was released and it's not allowing the proper configuration. I absolutely hate the original feel of it.
Sorry I don't quite understand what you mean. By "original settings" , do you mean the original detent positions?
@santiagoluib3 hi, yes the original detent position. Is it available for "special order"?
Hi , in that case you don't need this mod 😊 The very idea behind this kit is to move the positions to be more realistic. In your case Just tighten up the tension adjuster at the front of the unit.
@@santiagoluib3 it's about the feel of it, tightening the screw still makes the whole thing feels too loose.
hello! I'm sorry, do you ship this mods to the United States?
Hi, yes we do :)
How did you make the vinyl stickers?
I took measurements and made a design in Photoshop for both left/right, then filled up a 8x12" area with these decals and have them printed on Vinyl UV sticker printer. I cut them manually for each peace for every Kit :)
@@santiagoluib3 Thank you so much! which machine did you use?
@@gamerj8139 I had it outsourced print, as I have no Vinyl UV printer :)
Does it works on xbox and how to calibrate ?

Hi, sorry for this late reply. If XBOX supports the TM TCA straight from the box, then the mod works too! This mod is purely a physical enhancement that has nothing to do with the controller's firmware :) Hope that helps.
Is it possible to buy this anywhere?

Hi Guys, as the shipping cost from my country to the West are too high for many for the Kits, I have made the files available to those who have access to a 3D Printer and a CO2 Laser Cutter :) cults3d.com/en/3d-model/gadget/ultimate-detent-and-tension-mod-for-the-thrustmaster-tm-tca
Hi, does the download also include the files for the acrylic plates for a CO2 laser? And the Photoshop files for the stickers? Thx
Hi Brent, yes they are included. I recommend (if you can find any in your area) to print the stickers on Vinyl UV stickers. They are much more durable, higher heat and moist resistant :)
Hello, I have already installed the mod but it sounds terrible.
Thanks!
@@jaaimegaarcia What did you do for it to work? mine is also sounding very bad
I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't know Xbox MSFS A320 does not support that calibration.
