I never saw Pridak's red markings as blood when I was a kid. I'm not sure why I didn't draw that parallel, especially since the blades outright say "Hey, I kill Matoran." Pridak is one of my favorite Barraki in terms of build, especially the body build, and his appearance is just badass. The red markings also make him a real threat, and his face gives him this alien-like appearance, which is awesome if you ask me. My only couple of problems are the Squid Launcher (which is a con of all the Barraki since the launcher sucks), and his arms could have used a new part or at least a different part. Overall, Pridak is my personal favorite Barraki, mainly due to his badass appearance and his simple, yet complex build. :)

Watching this in 2020. I absolutely love they used Toa Nuva arms on this set, I think it's good to get these old pieces once again. I regret not getting this baraki when I was kid
My absolute favorite set out of the Barraki! Takadox was a close second, but this guy was just too far out, man! I'm terrified of sharks, though, and yes the red markigs are blood.
Krika also had red markings, and while theyre not as blatantly "bloody" looking, I never really saw them as that as a kid, don't know why I never put 2 and 2 together, but I can see how they would possibly not be blood and just be cool discoloration.

I believe the lower arms are recolors (Kopaka had light gray, not white). Correct me if I am wrong. A con that I've had with the blades is that the end tips of the rubber has broken off, same with Tarix and Furno's blades except they do't use rubber but some veyr thin plastic.

The balljoint is here because if you turn it and pose his legs, joining the feet, it look like a shark tail. Look at the "Creeps from the deep" Barrack video, and you'll see that right before he tries to enter the tunnel in which Dakar fell, he had his legs in tail mode.
I'd say the biggest con about this set is, generally, his unique parts are harder to use than most. You have to make extra room for the head, the head has one of the more inflexible-to-use-attachments even compared to other barraki, and there are probably better and cheaper two-piece ways of achieving the red-white blades than having to do that specific mold like that.
-The red IS natural markings, proof, real blood would have washed away, or hardened and prevent his mouth from opening, therefor preventing him from talking, so unless it works differently in the pit, the red marks on him ISN'T blood- EDIT: Out of date, don't take this for fact (not that you should if anyone even sees this)
Bradley Bradley there are so many factors to why it could be blood 1 it's a made up universe 2 it probably does work differently in the pit 3 there are multiple species in bionicle and their blood is probably different

This set is pretty much near flawless. If the torso range of motion was increased it would be great, although that's easy to fix. Then theres that stupid squid launcher. However, the mouth molded onto the head piece was weird. When I was guessing what creatures the Barraki were imitating, Pridak was definitely a shark, but the mouth throws it off and almost kill the look.
Honestly I always like the nuva limb forearms because it fixed the fact the upper arms are so far back they feel less like upper arms and more like shoulders
I always thought the red was blood. He totally just gored a fresh rahi and didn't even take the time to clean himself off. Even though he's underwater and that's totally not how physics works.

favorite bionicle set kept him together till the end when my mother gave him away, but oh the memories he lost his fin to the dogs to i had to use his other sword on his launcher hand as a replacement but i always enjoyed turning his legs into a shark tail and have him swim around perhaps i should get on ebay or something and pick him up again
I think the head really throws off the shark motif, making it hard to tell what he's supposed to be from a glance. But... like the rest barraki, he's grown on me. I'd buy them up, no place to store them... Also you forgot to show off his "Swimming" mode.
I get out a kick out of how when right before he says "good-looking" around the 2:46 mark, he pauses for a split second, possibly because he caught himself about to say "interesting" for the umpteenth time.
Recently on the boards a guy told a story about a shark headed bonkle that had blood around his mouth and that he was accepted because there wasn't time to change it

I sorta love the blood on his weapons. Haven't the slightest idea what the set designers were thinking, but it looks so badass!

To me the Squid Launcher only works for like some of the Barraki primarily the ones with a more "wider" appearance like Kalmah,Mantax & Carapar
the only issue i had with him over time the joint for his torso wore out and at tiems tanding him up he would fall lopsided

I think they really nailed it with the Barraki and toa Mahri. They are all very unique and interesting.

I never noticed he was supposed to be a shark. I saw the red as a sort of "war paint" or some kind of detailing to strike fear into his enemies.
I used to have this one back when I was 5. Pretty fun. Used to play with him in the tub.
I always got a prehistoric amphibious bird vibe and not so much a shark
I was so used to pronouncing his name like 'PREE-dak' that when I learned that it's pronounced 'PRY-dak', it was like my whole life was a lie!
