Well it's a long long shot,
I need need your help.
Coz I'm lost. I'm twice "Alice in the Wonderland" Lost.
I'm currently doing my B.Des(FD) from A "fashionmurdering" University.
I'm in my year-3 and I know nothing bout fashion. One thing Ik for sure is I'm not good with threads and fabrics. I think FC is what drew me to choosing Fashion as a career. I couldn't clear my nift, and ended up here, i.e the dead end. I've no other way out, and I've see this to the end. But how do I switch to FC now? What All would develop my fc sense in the meantime ?

In fashion design u create outfits with those textiles
Like in textile design u learn weaving and stuff but in fashion design u learn stitching and design

What’s the difference between graphics and fashion communication?

Fashion communication is focused on the communication aspect of fashion: Visual merchandising, styling, photography, journalism, graphics, branding etc are all taught but in respect to fashion.
Graphic design is not limited to fashion but all natures of industries. However, it is focused on just graphics and not styling, VM, journalism etc.

you've got a lot of time. I've done a lotttt of research during my short time of preparation and always felt frustrated about having not enough time.
1. sketch everyday without fail. No matter what it is, a detailed sketch or a rough one. but make sure you have a repetitive time for it. you improve if you consistently work in a rhythmic way rather than thinking that you would get better if you do it continuously.
2. practice shapes/curves / lines for about 5-10 mins everyday before you sketch or at anytime. it makes your lines finer and your circles actually look like circles without the help of a tool.
3. for preparing for nift try to solve previous years question papers. the GAT part is all 9th or 10th maths. so concentrate more on that and the rest is all logical reasoning and english.
4. the main part is the CAT. people think they are not creative because they mostly have ideas that are common. But that's not true. YOU have to brainstorm ideas. and the first three ideas you get are at all times supposed to be put in a dump because they'll be the most common ones. you have to think and brainstorm and modify your ideas into something that even you would find surprising. Everything needs practicing... even being creative.
lastly, watch a lot of youtube videos on nift exams and just general art and techniques. make use of youtube. it has a lot that you don't know could be useful.
and there would be times where you would feel less creative and feel like you can't do anything... but take some time off... do something else relaxing. and then come back . remember why you are doing this for. Set a goal. write it down and paste it in front of your work table or room.
