Good to have a chat with you Pete in the pits at Yarmouth.. great videos.. love the content from you getting the car striping, building, racing and the scraping .. keep it going …
Pete you was flying the first couple of laps, it's easy for me to say don't get down mate, but really enjoyed the footage. Chin up Pete totally respect mate can't wait for the next vid my house is sending positive thoughts for a change in luck
Another brilliant video good to see joey is ok and i just can't believe your luck i hope you can get it sorted for the next bws wishing you all the best of luck mate 👍
Great to have the videos back, gutted to hear another race engine down. I was at Yarmouth and that answers my question as to why you were not in consolation race. I hope you have better luck in the coming meetings and get answers on the engine quickly.
Can see how that’s royally got to you Pete. Feel for you mate. Keep at it & for sure your luck will change. You put too much effort in for it not to. All the best to you & the team. 👍
Pete I fell ya pain I remember in 1999 when I paid £600 for a datsun 260c manual to race everyone laughed but I got 5 meetings out of her n I thought I got value.for money. Love what u do.mate keep on keeping on bud
Bad news m8 ,finally after 3 attempts got signal whilst walking the dog along some cliffs in Wales on holiday 😂,nice to see a member of right said Fred make a guest appearance near the end 🤣👍🏁🏁
Race engines. Pain. Did 6 years on a standard engine covering approx 75 meetings. Never missed a beat. Lots to be said for not playing about with them. Just the occasional spark plug and oil change and yes it was super competitive too. Hope the bad luck has ended 👍
Jeez, at this rate you'll be using the engine out of the P4. Feel your frustrations buddy, your lucks got to change soon-but it does make essential viewing with what happens next...
@@Allstar_Garage Yes unfortunately most of the meetings have been cancelled due to fire investigation and not knowing how long the repairs are going to take.
I will avoid buying drinkidges, until an engine lives for a whole meet from now on 😆although, I suspect they came in handy when you guys got back! I arrived late, had to park half a mile away - when I finally got onto the pit bank and see you on the infield - I was gutted on your behalf fella. On the onboard, looked like she was steaming/smoking by the end of lap one, especially at the end of the straights? I have no clue if that is normal or not, seemed quick to get hot to my un-edumikated single brain cell. Made me wonder if these engine woes have started since the water tank mod/changes? Clutching at straws here, I have no clue at all. Failing that, have the fuel tanks been washed out recently? Schmoo could cause fuel restriction? Partially collapsed fuel hoses? Fine when dry, then get more restrictive as the blisters fill up again with fuel? Makes no sense if she was ripping on the rollers though. I dunno chap, its all voodoo and double dutch to me. Does the sump have oil baffles for the pickup? Again, i picketh at ze strawidge. Eitherway, I hope you get a good run soon Pete - mai gawd - you deserve it by now man. Looking forwards to the next episodeo - keep up the superb videos!
@@Chilled_Mackers mate I’d be lying if I said the JD was still kicking about 😅 Drinks are always appreciated. It’s a shame you missed the start of the meeting, not that there was much to miss on my behalf! The Chuffy smoke you can see I don’t think was related believe it or not, the baffles breathers etc on the engine were all clean, no sign of anything being pushed out. I think that was more paint etc cooking in where it was so new. My money is 100% on fuel pump for the starvation, new one has been ordered!
@@Allstar_Garage Hopefully it helped soothe the shituation fella 😆The hobnobs are good for the build, the JD for the repair - Haribo for the motivation! Did I get the right Pepsi? Yeah, it was further than it looked! Plus shat-nav took me one way there and another on the way back back - I see you guys on the A11(?) or summat on the return leg - not entirely sure - it was just many many long roads kinda merging into one for me! Oooh, I didn't even think about paint/grease being cooked off - my fingers, eyes and toes are crossed that a new pump brings a bit more joy than the 3 pumps and a squirt the old one must have done! 🤞 Looking forwards to the next video!

Solution for me was spending money I didn't have at the time. Anyways, luck surely has to change, onwards, upwards, inwards - fingers crossed - remember Winners are losers who don't give up
Great watch Pete as always! Shame about another engine going bang! Is it not worth chucking a standard reliable engine in for the last 2 WQ’s just to try and get a few heats in hoping you can gain a few points for the World Final meeting? To be 1st first you have to finish do you see what I’m saying just have 4 slower races rather than 1 fast race 🤷♂️
Do away with that plastic cut off switch Pete. We chased a similar problem with the 1300 years ago changed everything and turned out to be the plastic kill switch breaking down. Hope your engine woes are over now that’s seriously bad luck
My other cages have the heavy duty metal ones, I didn't realize this cage had a plastic one still on it, I'll order one now before I forget, good shout mate cheers
Watch out for those cheap things for the Milwaukee; they rarely have the low voltage protection, and they will flatten the battery to the point it won’t take a charge. I’ve done this a few times and have successfully jumped the battery, but both the 6ah batteries I had used with my eBay special and jumped are now kaput inside of a few months of each other.
@@Allstar_Garage yeah, easy way to check is drain one of your current batteries to the point it won’t operate genuine Milwaukee stuff, then put it on the new light. If it works, you know it doesn’t have the low voltage protection. I’m sure it doesn’t for the £ invested lol. It’s all good to use - right until you forget, and deep drain the battery. 🤯
Such a shame that the new engine let you down. Do you think it was an oil pump problem? What are the changes of getting a new block and rebuilding without too much expense? No idea how common those engines are. Obviously there could be quite a few damaged parts but hopefully that’s cheaper than a “new” engine. Would it benefit you to fit an oil gauge in the car builds?
@@Allstar_Garage my dad and I rebuilt a golf gti engine back in the day which had a similar hole in the block. New piston, con rod and big end bearings in a donor block did the trick. We did get the head skimmed because we didn’t know its history. All valves were checked and reseated if needed. That engine was a reliable beast for years after.
