- Welcome to Twin Elm Farms! On this channel we show what its like to farm in southern Manitoba, Canada. The farm consists of Kendal, wife Lindsay their kids Hayley, Parker, Jaxon and Brock. Kendal's older brother Darryl, wife Heather, their kids Mackenzie, Dylan, Quin and Ryenne. With our right hand man Pieter. We have other part time help throughout the season, Arch (combine operator) Terry (field work) and Rob (cattle help). We crop corn, soybeans, wheat, oats and canola. We have a cow/calf operation of mostly Simmental and Shorthorn with some other breeds in the mix. Hope you enjoy our content, please subscribe, give it a thumbs up and love hearing comments.
Calving time always keeps you on your toes!!
That colorful calf is so cute. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I love calving "season"❤ Your posting it on TH-cam is wonderful. I get to sit here, watch, no responsibility, no skin in the game...what's not to like, enjoy, appreciate. Live made Easy...Thank you!
Never a dull moment at Twin Elm Farms. Lots of cute little calves running around. I really enjoy your videos.
She's a beautiful calf. I would say you will keep her.
Everything you guys do with your cows and calves looks great to me, I agree cant hurt to help the cow out if your able to.
The colourful calf reminds me of my favourite - baby kowalski
I just love all the cows especially the babies, but that colorful one is awesome that’s my favorite.. ❤❤❤😊😊😊
For the most part, your cows sure seem pretty quiet. Thanks for the video, enjoyed it.
Awe the colorful calf is so darn cute❤
Love the videos look for them everday!
-30 here this morning as well. Perfect day to stay indoor with a fire. Thank you for all you do. Great looking calves.
Practicing good husbandry with all your livestock makes you a conscientious farmer and it will show in how your cattle will look and act around anyone! Having a caring heart allows you to practice your faith even at work!
Kendall you do exactly what you been doing, you know your cows don’t worry about what people say. You doing a great job! I truly love watching your cow videos
Don't listen to the internet experts. Most have never touched livestock. You know your animals.
Good morning from Idaho USA. ❄️ and cold weather here too
Kendall, I think that you’re doing a fantastic job helping the cows
-33 thats really cold keep saving those babies
Love the colorful calf @ 4:10. Is it a Simmental or a Simmental cross with Shorthorn or other?
Shorthorn cross simmental
@@TwinElmFarms Thank you so much!
I don’t think you are going in too soon but then I am not a farmer. I have watched many different videos where they give more assistance. I also think that the last cow was MAD. You did very well not to get injured or have the calf die because she was bashing it against the bars
When we had dairy cows we did a bit of the same thing they could have left go but we helped
NAW, U DO NOT PULL A LOT OF CALVES! If they are alive and well? U pulled just right! 💜💙
Nice videos guys. What is the meaning of Twin Elms Farm?
Back when my parents bought this farm yard in 1975, there were 2 large elm trees at the end of the lane that went over the drive way.... these trees died 20 years ago.
It was 77 here in Gilt Edge Tennessee today
Oh my, that's a little different then here
We have a small angus cow calf herd in michigan. I was wondering what you were giving the newborn calves when you processed them before turning them out? Enjoy the videos.
1 ml Vitamin A&D, 1ml selon-e, n force in the nose, toltrazurial pill for gut health
Would it make sense going to an older pay loader to keep the hours of your expensive tractor.
I don't think so personally. We bought these tractors to use them, and they get used on both grain and cattle.
-41 this morning, lots of guys going outside to things that won’t start I’m sure up here.
Thankfully everything started this morning.
Kendall, the white and grey cow that was laying in the barn is pretty what kind of cow is it? I
I'm not exactly sure which cow you are referring to. But I'm going to guess it is our blue Roan, black simmental crossed shorthorn. They are black with white Roan.
Does your pack in the calving shed start to heat up after a while?
Yes, that is one reason we don't like to clean out too often, only if it gets too high.
