    Speaking of new releases Baldurs Gate 3 will have it's release on the 3rd of august (for EA-players chapter 1 is available 72 hours in advance, so august 1st) They WERE going to release on the 30th but apparently Larian is ahead of schedule unlike some developers that shall not be mentioned...

    It's odd that some people brought up the bones as quicker for epoxy. Even on my dedicated bone hunting runs, I usually only come back with a few hundred bones, which is like 100 epoxy after it's all said an done. But I can keep the carpentry bench and mortar and pestle going pretty nonstop if I feel like it and get hundreds of epoxy. The only thing I can assume is different is that I use javelins so I spend more time sneaking within range of the animals.

    Man that place is big, must be costly on shoes all that running around ;-). I built my kitchen inside my greenhouse just to save on shoe leather (also because I am lazy). Given that crops don't spoil in the plot (with the right talent by the maker of the plots) they serve as the storage for all fruit and veg, take what you need, put back the rest, saves space in the fridge and running for ice.
    On metal plots with pumped water? I have them so I use them but they are a waste of resources. Build a couple extra wooden plots if you need growing speed, once you have a good supply of produce use the surplus plots for growing decorative stuff around the place.
    No Upgrade Tool? Ever picked up a ball peen hammer, or a claw hammer, or a pickaxe? They are all meant for two functions. Take your common pickaxe, the pick end is there for prospecting ores and minerals and the axe end is there to fight off the owner of the land you are prospecting on. Same with a clawhammer, the hammer end is to make a mistake, the claw end is to correct the mistake before anyone notices you nailed up the board upside down. The repair hammer?Left click to repair, right click to upgrade but first press R to select the new material.
    Sticks for tree sap? You had me screaming at the screen about that but you make a good point, making sticks gives a bit of XP. Nice if you still need blueprints. I'll find something else to scream at my screen about ;-)
    No animals? What did you expect? You keep shooting them ;-) You remind me of that history lesson about how the native population of the Americas basically removed all the big game animals from the continent by eating their way from Alaska to Patagonia. While a mammoth should feed you for years they spoil in about week. Off to shoot another one. Rince, repeat, no more mammoth. You are aware there is a talent that gives vegetable only food a 30% buff yes? Fresh fruit and veg every day and you need a bigger monitor to fit your health and stamina bar ;-) Same thing with fish (Capac should like that). There is a limited equivalent for dried meat only but you will end up with a jaw like a rock crusher eating all these dried meats.
    But you do you ;-)
    On a different subject, spend quitea few 100 hours in Scrapyard Engineers with no end in sight. Genius!

    My theory on power and water is that its not usage but connections that affects how much capacity you have. So each connection “reserves” its requirements. So if you have 1000kW and one machine needs 500kW to produce stuff, you only have 500 left regardless if that machine is crafting or not.
    This is what I’ve experienced at least.

    If memory serves, the power and water systems are pretty basic, and if something is hooked up, it is consuming. (maybe not the furnace with the activate button). I suspect the networks/batteries update listed on the road map will change things up.

    It baffles me that you go out specifically hunting to get bones, and yet other times when you kill 3 jaguars back to back, you just leave their corpses lie rather than collect the bones, despite having plenty of free inventory slots... Since the bones recipe for Epoxy is _so_ lucrative, you really should make sure you skin every kill. You can literally discard everything off the corpse, I often do, it's just the bones that matter.

    • @Flipsie
      @Flipsie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't be too upset when I bring this up in the next stream, I just thought of it at the time and was like - well, yeah. I do that, most of the time it's because I imagine I'm going to be putting something more valuable in my inventory or I'm just not wanting to ruin the flow of the other activity I'm doing at that time, or maybe I'm just tired :P

    • @KaedysKor
      @KaedysKor ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Flipsie makes sense. Personally, I figured bones are light, and stack fairly high, and I can always chuck them if I do find something more valuable. And it means I rarely have to go on dedicated bones hunts, instead just killing and de-boning everything in my path when I'm doing other stuff.

    I totally enjoy watching these 2 guys play Icarus, also @Flipsie if you want to hunt a little more aggressive you could have Capac stand by higher up leaving a dead animal on the ground and just stood the ones that come after the kill if you keep leaving the Corpses on the ground they will come by the dozens.

    you could use the metal plots to denote the plants as deco around the castle and keep. use the wood for harvestable. Throw a few hyrdo in for style and rapid growth while you are here/if needed but leave the rest as slow growers.

    it's just me, or there's no way around the grinding in this game if you wish to make something respectful in terms of construction. at this point in progression, depending on bone colecting for epoxi would be a turn off for me.

    • @Flipsie

      It's the nature of any of these games really, at some point I find the fun parts stop being fun because of something else that's started to feel like a grind. Thankfully I'm not feeling that way with this playthrough yet :)
