Ok I’ve watched countless videos on the Costco driver. I bought a Mavrik and the shaft broke. Had to wait 2 weeks for Callaway to replace it. Ended up buying the Costco drive and OMG is it good. I hit lasers straight every time. I’ve hit it next to the Mavrik replacement and it out drives it by 10 yards every time. Don’t sleep on this driver. Yes there’s limited shaft options, but you can use a Mizuno driver shaft if you want to try and improve performance. I appreciate your honest reviews. Keep up the great work James.
I bought the Radspeed driver and irons back in 2021. I picked up the 3 wood in 2022. I still game them today. I have the red, white, and blue versions in the driver and wood. My irons have that bright yellow/green. Luckily, that color is muted on the irons. I absolutely LOVE the whole set. Cleveland wedges, an old Ben Hogan hybrid and a Whitehot Oddessy putter round out my bag.
I really liked my radspeed fairway wood, great lines, forgiving, I would probably upgrade the hogan, the radspeed hybrids are awesome, solid setup Martin
@jmac6631 , it might be the shaft isn't good for your swing speed. My swing speed is under 100 mph, and they kept me with the stock shaft on my driver. I have the XB
The only problem with used clubs, at least in my area, is that they look like they have been used to build a house or dig a ditch. We don’t have a clubs for cash type of store near so we are relegated to bigger golf stores which take anything on trades.
The only "golf" store in my area (Which is a dicks sporting goods) has a tsi2 driver that looks like it was buried for 3 years then dug up and sold, and they want $300 for it
I had the Kirkland driver and I swear my shots were identical to what you saw in the sim. I returned it and bought a second hand 2016 callaway xr16. I think you’re absolutely right in the shaft being horrible. It felt like I was swinging a log through water.
Managed to find one for sale used for £150 ( used for 2 rounds) After 18 holes it is in the bag ! Tipped the shaft 1inch to stiffen the 60G stiff shaft and a jumbo grip. Feel, sound and distance really good, concerned on the face though has scratch marks already! Shaft feels fine too. Tested ( bought ) for the bag was PXG 0211 loud and distance poor had a weird feel. Eleven Driver sound 100% but not forgiving distance good.
James, I gave up on a 3 wood last year because I just can't hit a 3 wood. I bought a Radspeed 5 wood off of an ebay auction for a real good price and love it. Not sure what it is about it but I can hit it good consistently. A long drive for me is about 220 yards total so the 5 wood always gets a good work out.
I bought a mint condition Cobra RadSpeed XB driver with a Tensai blue shaft for $200 in early 2022, I liked it so much that I bought the matching 3 and 5 woods for less than a $100 each, and was not disappointed. I think the Cobra RadSpeed XB might be a better head-to-head comparison to the Costco driver.
If you do not have to have the latest new thing, the used club market can be your friend. Wait two years and you can still get equipped with some very good clubs. Depends on what you want I suppose.
I feel like you can probably even get a LTDx one for 199 as well. The aerojet brand new is only $299 now. I game a F9 and may jump to Aerojet this year or wait one more year and then buy the darkspeed after it drops in price
Hi bit of a Cobra nerd here lol of course I can only really speak for myself but Ive seen a couple comments have similar thoughts. RadSpeed's biggest issue was that it didnt really do THAT much extra than what SpeedZone and even F9 had done before it while I think going up $100 maybe more so it was kind of a victim of their own success. Bryson might not have been a huge fan of it either which might have hurt it in the eyes of some too. Personally I love the green and even the name, idk how people can look at another all or 90% black driver with a bit of silver or white or red in it and not get bored after a few generations lol
I had a rad speed driver, that I bought 2nd hand and I really didn’t get on with it. I bit the bullet this year and replaced it with a brand new mizuno ST max don’t regret it one bit.
The transition from outdoors to indoor, by Bobby, was awesome. One day, this may be the Bobby Show, featuring James Robinson. I find the inserted comments to be hilarious.
I'm happy for you that you have access to Golf Clubs For Cash and can see and touch what you're buying. For a lot of your audience that's not an option. Even second hand at my local pro shop in SW France is not an option. However, next time I'm visiting the family in Huddersfield a visit to GolfClubs4Cash in Warrington is a must.
Hi James I have a 3&5 cobra clubs which I love the sound is fabulous but at my age I would not buy a second hand club the driver I use just now is a Taylor made m11 that my nephew gave me but cobra are great My age is 77
Good video, James, but why does it matter so much what the bottom of a driver looks like. When it's in the bag it has a head cover on it and when you use it you see the top. I love my Radspeed BTW.
The Cosco driver looks a bit like a Titleist, understated! The Cobra I would just trust more, been around for years and years. I still bang away with my 20 plus year old Cleveland Launcher 400, I just trust it, know the good and bad.
I really enjoyed my RAD driver. Just moved on to a PXG driver with a better ball flight at the time. Be interested to see what you could buy 2nd hand for $299 or £299, since a new member at Costco would have to buy a membership for around $100 🤔
I said the same in another Kirkland driver video, but I’d definitely go second hand or maybe spend a little more for a Sim2 (selling for $299 in the US, about 250 pounds I believe) if your budget can stretch. I recently picked up the QI10 Max, and wasn’t sure I’d like the glossy crown (played G430 Max last year), but I actually find it less distracting. So I think I’d prefer the look of the Kirkland over the Radspeed at address. I think they should’ve picked a different color scheme for the headcover however. Black cover, white lettering, red trim would’ve been better imo. Regardless, I’d still take the Cobra 10 times out of 10 over the Kirkland. The question is, can you find either?
Hey James sorry nothing to do with this video, but just an idea for a challenge for you, which might help golf the world over. Matt Friars 30 shot challenge has been mentioned a few times with the people I play with (in NZ) unfortunately one of these players also thinks it’s ok to take 4 and a half hours to play 18 holes. So for a twist to the 30 shot challenge you could do a timed challenge, see how far you can get round a golf course in 2 and half hours on your own, 3 hours for a 2 ball etc…. I know from your other videos with Chris how much slow play upsets you!! All the best and keep up the great work. A Tyke in NZ
I have a second hand Mavrik driver and at address the Costco driver looks very similar, Especially with the Evenflow shaft. Obviously the underneath and hozel are different. Are the Cobra's second hand or new but old tech. My local second hand shop, Golf Factory in North Tyneside, gets what must be older surplus stuff. My eldest lad doesn't like that shaft either, and he swings fast. Hope you are ok.
F9 Tour is a bomber, so Rad Speed always had a problem, however this video has value. The Rad Speed has effectively reached its nadir as regards value, so probably a better buy.
I definitely like the sound of the Cobra over the Kirkland that's for sure. The same reason why I really like the Titleist drivers. You don't get that high pitched metallic sound which to me translates into a bad feeling driver.
The shafts are not the same and they make a big difference depending on your swing . Take your driver and get fitted for a shaft to your specifications.
Kirkland balls, wedges and gloves are great and offer high quality products for an incredible price. You can't beat the value for money you get with those products. I have all of them in my bag. I love the sound of the Kirkland driver, and hate the sound of the Cobra, but I would most definitely take the Cobra. Better yet, you can get brand new Cobra LTDx from 2022 for $200-250, used even cheaper. I've seen the 2023 Aerojet used for under $200 on Ebay. I would take any of those over the Kirkland. I saw a similar comparison with ELEVEN driver which seemed to perform better than the Kirkland and had more adjustability. But that driver is $379. Way too expensive. Closeout deals on new older clubs and second hand clubs are better deals for sure.
Take the time to find a good shaft match for the Costco head like " Lets play thru " did . He made the Kirkland driver come alive. I quite like the idea of taking a complete budget set of clubs and knocking the socks off guys with their $3,500 bag of name brand clubs. Thats going to be my fall project this year. Takomo irons, Kirkland or Eleven driver and who knows what else and put it all in play.
I’ve been looking at the Cobra Air X (older driver) I’m a high handycap and it looks like the driver was made for someone like me that needs a slice correction
well I spent 198.00 dollars on a new partial Amazon set, because Iam retired and have to watch my money so I couldn't afford either of those drivers lol
I would game the Kirkland clubs… any day of the week. Too bad they are out of stock. I was able to find a radspeed Driver XB brand new for 199 during the holiday season. That is my current gamer.
James, which Mizuno shaft did you put on the Kirkland? As for the Cobra Radspeed XB, I have that one but with the Fujikura Motore F3 shaft (I had the Cobra King F8 w/the same Aldila shaft you have in your video's Radspped XB but in regular you had, but I just couldn't hit that consistently). I love accuracy I get out of it, but I'm wondering why I've been struggling with distance (course, didn't help that I had a near 10-15 year gap in golfing/driving range practice regularly). Right now, I have that Cobra Radspeed XB battling a Wilson Dynapower Titanium for the driver (and 3 wood) spot in the bag).
I had the RADspeed. Loved it! But alas, after six months I hit a slight tow strike and it cracked the crown about an inch back from the face. This happened to others. I got a LTDx under the warranty, but I have seem to lost my driving mojo. The new Darkspeed is peaking my interest. I bought the radspeed after a lot of youtubers gave the cobra good reviews and that hey generally cost less then the top brand.
Confidence in your club should not be underrated. I have an old $19 Dunlop driver I bought many years ago and hit it in the middle of the fairway every time. I bought a new Callaway club but it was hard to control, now I have no confidence in it. I do hit it 20 yards farther on good shots. Hopefully I will get it sorted out this summer.
For all of us paupers who cannot sign up to shop at Costco, would you purchase the equipment for us? Otherwise, it is just a select few golfers that are really interested in what golf equipment that the store has to offer.
Have you gone back and reviewed the video to figure out why you started hit left pulls on the simulator? Was your lower body stopping and forcing the hands to turn over sooner?
I know you keep championing Costco clubs but for me i wouldn't touch the driver under any circumstances. Even as a beginner I'd buy something 5 years+ on an old big name for £100 or even less then go from that to new once i knew golf was for me. Why do I feel like that was going to be the outcome regardless . just felt one-sided from the beginning. And I didn’t really care either way was just curious
That shaft didn't kick to early James. Your swing was rubbish my friend. Much better swing with the Cobra. You should have took a Mulligan on the Costco.
@@hoppman6649 This is the suspicious side of me asking, do you think they’ve released these drivers to promote them through ‘social media influencer’s’ to maybe falsely develop demand? Is there really a copyright case??
Bullshit test, mate. The second to last hole, the Kirkland looked like it outperformed the Cobra, but you didn't show us the results. On the last hole, you put on a crap swing, probably distracted by the other ball right there, and declared the Cobra to be the "winner" on that basis.
I’m going to be honest, not sure if I can actually take what you’re saying as unbiased. You are sponsored by Puma and they own Cobra, so I have a feeling you’ll be reviewing a lot of clubs against Cobra clubs, which is great, but you’re sponsored now. You have to promoted Puma and Cobra products, in a way. I had a set of bio cell irons and driver, so I know what their products will and won’t do for me. If your new to the channel, like he says go out and hit all brands and find out which one works best for you and you’ll save a lot of money by looking at second hand shops, ebay, and even Facebook marketplace. It’s not always about having the latest or brand new clubs.

Had the rad speed for 2 years now. Wish I kept my F9. I hate my rad speed. lol.
@jmac6631 ,did you get fitted for it or just buy it off the shelf?
@@HangingWithSasquatchoff the shelf. F9 was off the shelf as well.
@jmac6631 , it might be the shaft isn't good for your swing speed. My swing speed is under 100 mph, and they kept me with the stock shaft on my driver. I have the XB
Love to see you test the cobra against this year's top drivers,I bet there isn't much in it . Keep up the great content .
Rad speed range got totally overlooked because how good speedzone and f9 were
I recently got a Taylor Made M1 for £100 second hand. An excellent driver.
I just upgraded from the M1 to the Kirkland. Much more forgiving and I'm hitting it about 10 yards farther.
The only problem with used clubs, at least in my area, is that they look like they have been used to build a house or dig a ditch. We don’t have a clubs for cash type of store near so we are relegated to bigger golf stores which take anything on trades.

I see a lot of Kirkland balls at my home course but have yet to notice anyone playing their clubs. I would choose the Cobra every time.
I had the putter for a few months it was really good kinda like a odyssey double wide
I had the Kirkland driver and I swear my shots were identical to what you saw in the sim. I returned it and bought a second hand 2016 callaway xr16. I think you’re absolutely right in the shaft being horrible. It felt like I was swinging a log through water.

Like how you are working to keep golf cost down. Retired now and would not like golf to cost more than I can afford. Great work.
Play of 7.4 and my clubs are cobra SS irons, my driver is a absolutely mint R5 duel
nothing expensive but still keeps me competitive
James, I gave up on a 3 wood last year because I just can't hit a 3 wood. I bought a Radspeed 5 wood off of an ebay auction for a real good price and love it. Not sure what it is about it but I can hit it good consistently. A long drive for me is about 220 yards total so the 5 wood always gets a good work out.
The only advantage to buying the new Kirkland driver is the no questions asked return policy.
Other advantages too. Decent driver.
I would have to go for the Cobra only because I have not ever seen the Costco driver in the wild
I game a Rad speed driver and 5 wood. They are both great clubs.
Later in the video I noticed you have a new bag - glad you found one in a modest, muted colour.
Cobra looks good in that bag. The colors seem to match.
The indoor testing with the Kirkland is me on the course. Start off with some belters and than quickly turns to ducky hooks and lost balls.
If you do not have to have the latest new thing, the used club market can be your friend. Wait two years and you can still get equipped with some very good clubs. Depends on what you want I suppose.

The big question is if you found an older driver that you hit well , would you put it in your bag ?

What brand is the bag?
Confidence in your club should not be underrated. I have an old $19 Dunlop driver I bought many years ago and hit it in the middle of the fairway every time. Like to see Radspeed vs Darkspeed.Chris has a Darkspeed, doesn't he ?
LTDx can be had cheaply new in the US-- just a few bucks more at Dick's Sporting goods
So much for INSANE RESULTS!!
The Kirkland driver looks clean AF
Well done James 👏 😊
I got last year's Stealth 2 Plus from Global Golf for $192 that was pretty awesome. The Costco driver doesn't come in lefty.
The Cobra driver match’s your golf bag 😁
Will you be doing a review on the new Vice irons?
I think you should have used the Mizuno shaft fro the test because then the shafts would be equivalent
I am certain the Cobra is a better driver - that said, your swing really came unglued in the studio there!
“Value is value, cheap is cheap” -James 2024 🤣
That bag, chefs kiss 👌
I actually thought the Costco sounds better, that last Radpeed strike on the first hole sounded somewhat loud.
Just bought an aerojet new in the wrapper for $229 shipped on ebay
like to see the kirkland tested against the top brands. £200 limit, whatever that buys 2nd hand.
Imagine u have Kirkland driver and still out driving those $500 drivers lol
You can pick up Cobra AeroJet for similar money now
I still game a RAD Speed drive.
Costco does not care!! James James James! When will you learn? They want to sell a ton of stuff with no regard for competitive products.
I would go the Cobra.
Cobra all day
I know you keep championing Costco clubs but for me i wouldn't touch the driver under any circumstances.
Even as a beginner I'd buy something 5 years+ on an old big name for £100 or even less then go from that to new once i knew golf was for me. Has the shaft kicked too early 😂
Cobra every time
Why do I feel like that was going to be the outcome regardless . just felt one-sided from the beginning.
And I didn’t really care either way was just curious
I divorced the Cobra Rad Speed after only one season. We didn't get along.
That shaft didn't kick to early James. Your swing was rubbish my friend. Much better swing with the Cobra. You should have took a Mulligan on the Costco.
Tell your cameraman to show the screen not the side of your head!!
I wish you’d stop showing the Costco driver in which no one but you guys have it!
Don't watch?!
@@hoppman6649 This is the suspicious side of me asking, do you think they’ve released these drivers to promote them through ‘social media influencer’s’ to maybe falsely develop demand? Is there really a copyright case??

I would like to see the costco driver versus the Vertical groove driver
Comparing cobra to Costco? That’s the dividing line for me.. unsub
You’re a silly billy.
Dude work on that swing before you compare
