"...they just tell you that you're on your own; fill your head all full of lies; you bastards!" That line alone got me through some bad depression in the mid-1970's.
3:52 Geezer made me laugh there when he said “Yanks against the Brits” because Dio and Vinny Appice were in fact from New York when they contributed to a British band like Black Sabbath. Another part of the reason he said that was when they parted ways with Sabbath 3 times after 3 albums. One time after Mob Rules, one time after Dehumanizer, and one more time after The Devil You Know only because of Dio’s passing (RIP). Therefore it happened just like that out of the 3 decades with Tony and Geezer.
Ozzy playing around with the broom just being a goof just cracks me up every time i see that, have that on a Black Sabbath live DVD, that's backstage footage from the 1970 Paris show
I got it at a music store in San Marcos, Tx that's no longer open called Sundance Music Store a very long time ago, probably around 2002-03 time , and it wasn't an official DVD release by the band or record company, probably like a small, maybe fan or magazine production, seemed a bit like a bootleg, you can tell by the way the disc looks, but is professionally done DVD, doesn't look like a shitty copy! It's titled "Black Sabbath- Live in the Seventies" has that 1970 Paris show w/backstage footage and their appearance in 1975 Don Kurshner's Rock Concert, I still have it, but yeah, everything on it can all be found here on You Tube now but back when i got it You Tube didn't exist just yet so it was a helluva find, just looking in the store for cd's and just happened to spot on DVD section! I don't think you gonna find it anywhere today anymore, the funny part is that on the disc, they put a picture of their 1971 Los Angeles Forum show, but that show's not on the DVD😆WTF? That's what makes it like a bootleg release!
Funny story, I was backstage and in the middle of a song Bill Ward's suspenders got locked up around his egg-shaped drum seat and he fell over backwards ,2 Roadies had to come and stand him up right, they never stopped playing LOL!👍
funny enough Ronnie was correct, he would be the blame not Tony, and it kinda pleases me he was actually ok with it and didnt mind and understood, and that takes some certaint mindset
5:57 "What the hell's he DOING?!" EXACTLY what goes through my mind every time I see Trump on TV. That aside this the greatest Sabbath story. "...his FLUTE solo!".
+Jose De Jesus Garcia It is a documentary I don't remember the name but you can find it in youtube just research for "Black Sabbath documentaries" and have some patience and you will find it eventually
is it just me or did dio seem to have a lot of anger when referring to ozzy? just asking because i'm a little obsessed with black sabbath's story/history and always have been. i cannot believe that a motion picture about their rise and fall was never even considered by ANYBODY. but i may digress.
That room that they all were in with the peeling wallpaper looks like the exact same room that was used in “The King’s Speech”. Just sayin’. Also just sayin’, I’m the guy that coined the term “whammybar” NOT Lonnie Mack. I have no idea why I’m mentioning this but why the fk not? Big deal, eh?
"It was a stupid ad"
"YOU FOOKIN TURNED UP!!" hahahahahahah
Dude I replayed that 10 times. Fkn hilarious. I love it.
Ozzy has so much depth. He’s a total basketcase, but has a soft side, reflective, profound, always interesting, and extremely funny.
i agree
Drugs ruined Ozzy
"Is the music loud on stage?"
"My bass isn't loud"
I met you about an hour ago at the airport... “yeah I just can’t believe it man”
Laughed my ass of at that one. Shit had me in stitches lol
Totally far out it's some kind of spiritual connection.
Is the music loud on stage?
Tony: Pardon me?
Geezer: My bass isn't.
Ozzy: Fuckin' hell..
Sure is loud, I was deaf for two days after I saw them on the last tour
"St. John."
Kills me every single time.
I love Ozzy's laugh after Geezer said that. He laughs like a little kid.
"...they just tell you that you're on your own; fill your head all full of lies; you bastards!" That line alone got me through some bad depression in the mid-1970's.
Hilarious funny the story of the flute----
Ozzy goofing around always makes me laugh.
I could listen to Sabbath stories forever, this is hilarious!
Rock musicians make the best comedians.
When them four are in a room it immediately becomes the most metal room on the fucking planet!
"It was a stupid name."
"You fuckin' turned up!"
“A really stupid Ad...”
“YOU FUCKIN TURNED UP!”
Is that music loud on stage?
"Well, the bass isn't."
noses where bigger in the 70's
Whenever I'm having a bad day, I like to imagine Geezer Butler and Roger Waters having a sword fight with their noses xD
IDK it's just a laugh for me.
skaface32 It's alcohol
Gamma Angel, Excellent! Lol :-D
@@devinthierault Alcohol doesn't do that. Your nose and ears keep growing the older you get regardless of how much you drink.
Talent was bigger in the '70s.
The flute thing is classic ha
that's my favorite
I saw Tony telling that story on an old Sabbath VHS in the mid 90s, and I've thought about it pretty much everyday since 😂

Holy shit 😂😂😂😂
Bill: "'Twas a stupid ad"
Ozzy: "You fucking turned up!"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I loved that part🤣… shows how close they all were
"What was ozzy Zigg needs a giiiig?" (Thick brummie accent) hahaha
The flute story, and how Geezer tells it is one of the funniest things I’ve heard.
When you asks the reasons why
They just tell you that you’re on your own
Fill your head up full of lies!
"Fuckin' hell!". That was a classic British response from Ozzy!
Ozzy zig requires gig
Tony: I know someone named Ozzy, hes at school with me, he couldnt be the same person. 😂
5:22... the 2 forefathers of Heavy Metal... mythical.
The creators of metal
5:00 that night Blackmore blew up the stage 🤔😂
Funny story, I was backstage and in the middle of a song Bill Ward's suspenders got locked up around his egg-shaped drum seat and he fell over backwards ,2 Roadies had to come and stand him up right, they never stopped playing LOL!👍
Dio was right. "It's Dio's fault"!
It was definitely Ronnie's fault. The early 80s and early 90s Sabbath renaissances were Dio largely.
I love those Brummie accents, baby!!!!
I fukn love. Sabbaths music!
Their importance cannot be overstated!
The Godfathers of Metal!! No 2 ways bout it!!
The Oz years and Born Again have been my soul for over 40 years
I always wondered if that was a joint hanging out of Bill's mouth during the last clip from the Live in Paris show.
Dust My Broom...there ya go!..too far back though..still adding
Great video, realy liked it
Needs a star name, names himself after Australia.
very enjoyed!!! thanks for posting
We were all fucking crazy back when we were young!
the good days
Ahh that's a great video love dem blokes
I love the way they say Birmingham, like Bourmingum.
Tony at 0:44 looks like he's channeling Robert Fripp, circa Lark's Tongues era.
He wishes...
Gezzers funny..flute story hilarious
What a good vid.
Spinal tap is partly based on Black Sabbath. I'm sure of this 😂
The Stonehenge thing was a reference to Sabbath. Except Taps was ridiculously small.
Awesome work... KUDOS
Sunshine and the KC band lmfao
funny enough Ronnie was correct, he would be the blame not Tony, and it kinda pleases me he was actually ok with it and didnt mind and understood, and that takes some certaint mindset
Love the remix of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, especially towards the end of the video. Is this particular version available for listening anywhere?
search it up it has official video or something in the title
The official video is cutted off. Just search the whole version, you'll find it: "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - Video HQ"
Fab Sabbath were like the Beatles in a number of ways... Actually spooky
You FUCKING turned up!
Loved it
5:57 "What the hell's he DOING?!" EXACTLY what goes through my mind every time I see Trump on TV. That aside this the greatest Sabbath story. "...his FLUTE solo!".
Ozzy Zig :DDD
@2:02
I'm dead.
Which Sabbath song would Tony be playing the flute in?
Ian Anderson improv possibly? Tony was briefly guitarist for Jethro Tull for a time so who knows lol
there is a flute in Planet Caravan
Probably Solitude, or may have been doing a Tull cover.
Before they recorded the first album. The flute would have been put away aftet that.
@@xwhite2020
The flute was used on the songs "Solitude" on Master of Reality and "Looking for Today" on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

What's with all the '30s-'40s cars @5:00???
That was at California Jam in 1974. They each had black car to drive them to the stage. Pretty cool idea actually.

Мне одному кажется, что у Оззи не изменился голос? Вообще!
Thanks...only part I didn't like was the few minutes with Dio in it because that is about how long he was in Black Sabbath.
I refer to that Era as 'Gray Sabbath'.
Dios the best era of sabbath
hello?..new group thing yes very lyrical..change of style..not dust my broom though..thats a slim!
i see Ronnie James From Dio but he's died already and i like i did'nt know Ronnie James he died

Ozzy is very lucky to be a millionaire. Just a prat who was lucky enough to meet Tony Iommi, Randy Rhoads and Jake.
Pretty sure it was R.Rhodes and J.Lee who were lucky to be hired by Ozzy ….. dipshit
