Everything about this screamed "winner". At least it should've been the runner-up; still bombastic and powerful, with an infectious vibe running throughout. And an icy Northern Valkyrie on vocals didn't hurt, either.
I feel like her 4th place is very reasonable. The winner is Only Teardrops - an outstanding, powerful and very melodic song with a very beautiful message, good vocals and incredibly well done staging, quite simple but super effective. Just noone could beat it. Then there is Azerbaijan, in my opinion overrated, but a decent song, really good, and that staging worked for many people (oh, and we know some stories that they also bought some votes, not sure if they were counted tho). 3rd place is Ukraine, probably best vocalist in the whole contest, a great song and staging, pretty girl... But I feel like vocals is what saved her the most, because there is Norway 4th, I feel like song is a bit stronger than Ukraine's and definitely more unique (and for now would call it an evergreen), but rather average (still good, that makes no disadvantage, but no advantage either) vocals made Ukraine higher :D
@@escjescausteya7829 This is still my favourite of the lot but I can see the blander appeal of the Danish entry compared to this very edgy and aggressive banger!
@@MarcoAOlivares I fully agree. I would much rather have seen any of those two songs win than "Only Teardrops". Much better singers (Ukraine's vocals were freaking godly), and in my opinion also better songs. As a Swede, those two songs plus Germany were my favorites that year. I didn't mind our own song, but I really favored those songs.
This was absolutely brilliant. So cool, catchy and puts many modern radio hits to shame. Such an electrifying vibe pumping through this song, too. If it couldn't win, it should've at least placed second. Together with Denmark and Ukraine, that would've made a perfect top-3.
This is my favorite ESC song ever!!! She is a godess from the ice . A real Queen with one of the best performances ever at stage. Love you Norway and Margaret ❤️ love from Portugal
This song aged soo good. It’s unbelievable. She’s back in melodi grand prix this year. But Keiino is also back.🙈😭 I don’t know how to decide between those two. Both had banger songs back then.😂
Michalis Fak. Best thing is that Margaret Berger fulfills the Norwegian stereotypes, icy, blue scenery, rather tall blonde woman, white, thin clothes (which, unless you are doing guerrilla against somebody in the snow, is unpractical) Plus that Frozen-music. (why not rename it to Let me feed you my ice?)
Eurovision is about the total preformence. The professionalism and preformance from Margaret is just outstanding. That is why i am glad that most of Europe appreciated the work that she put down. Europe has at least for this entry understood how great voice and song this really is and gave it 4th place but should in my opinion have won. 6 years later and this song is still modern, that says something about the quality. Perfection Norway and Margaret! Just amazing! 🙌
The tragic thing for me is that I only considered the song as "Well.... oookay...." at the time. I thought, what is this? Soundtrack from "James Bond" or something? It wasn't until much later that I realized I couldn't get the song or the stunning Margaret out of my head. Even years later, still today. Only now do I fully realize what a masterpiece it was and what a gorgeous Woman Margaret was (is). Oh man.
It impossible to hear this song NOT at full volume. My favourite song/performance/artist in ESC 2013. Margaret is so pretty. Should have won. 12 points for norway from germany. ;-D
It's my favorite song of this decade, the second and the third are Bones from Equinox and Origo from Joci. Truely masterpiece i love that so much i listen this song everyday
This was such a good song! I was rooting for Denmark and am still glad Emmelie won, but I also still love listening to this even 7 years later! After Rybak in 2009, this is the best song Norway sent to the ESC in my opinion
10 years are slowly passing by and I still can't believe that this girl didn't win the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo. Brilliant.
Everything about this screamed "winner". At least it should've been the runner-up; still bombastic and powerful, with an infectious vibe running throughout. And an icy Northern Valkyrie on vocals didn't hurt, either.
The better Scandinavian
And finally which place did it take?
Νικος Παπαδοπουλου 4th

This has to be one of the most unique Eurovision songs of the past few years.

Eurovisionfan #1 Belgium this year was nothing new lol and Slovenia was generic yet great dance music
+George Austin Tay and definitely one of the most modern ones
+George Austin Tay Latvia ESC 2015 ;)

9 years later and Norway is still my winner of the 2013 contest
And me is my winner (draw with Denmark)
Mi ganadora ese año y todos los posteriores hasta 2050. Gran canción y grande Margaret

My favorite Norwegian entry of all time and one of the best eurovision songs ever, omg, a masterpiece
Maybe the best song Norway has ever send to Eurovision. Still listening this in 2015. Still gives me goosebumps. We love you neighbours from Finland
+Hadriver Hadriver We love you too

Still listening to it in 2020.
Best song Norway sent in ages.... so damn good. Still feels modern in 2018, five years later.
Hi from 2024:)
My winner! Perfect entry from Norway! Greetings from Spain!
Even after all these years this is still my favorite entry for Eurovision.
Yup.. Same same..
Everything about this song is just incredible
love how people are still coming back to this song even 11 years later... best of luck in MGP Margaret ❤
Hi from 2024 :)
2022 and still lives free on my mind. One of the most unique songs at Eurovision ever and my fav Norway’s entry. Love from Spain, it was my winner.
I am so totally in love with the Norwegian and the Finish entries in esc. They are so much more unpredictable than the other northern entries!
And what about Iceland? (2006, 2014, 2019)'s are very unpredictable
@@svinnibg
The only predictable one is really Sweden. I say this as a Swede. We will be sending a generic pop song for freaking ever, it seems.
They always do something cool and interesting. Denmark can quit Eurovision for all I care, Iceland loves being basic and Sweden is stuck in 2011 mode.
Best Song 2013!!!
Best song sent in Eurovision . Should definitely be no 1 . We love you Margaret .Greece 2021 .
This gave me massive James Bond vibes. So good. I still love it.
This song got so underrated last year....
LNhart Underrated? Wasn't it Place 4 in the end?
Calista-hime Yes, it was.
Calista-hime still underrated
Let's be honest, the only way this song wouldn't be underrated was if she won!
Well this song was outright horrible. It didn't deserve final but it got there. Stop complaining now
My favorite song of all times from ESC and I am not joking
обожаю эту песню
Same here.
good choice!
Same here. Unique song
Real winner of Eurovision 2013, Spain loves this song.
I love euro vison to
This was the real winner for me, way more interesting than "Only Teardrops".
Totally! At the end the real fight should have been Ukraine vs. Norway... Only Teardrops was nowhere to be found compared with those 2 masterpieces.
It had 'Euphoria' vibes, it was very unlikely that this could win after 'Euphoria', too similar songs.

for me it's better than Only teardrops...

I absolutely agree with you!
2023
Best Norwegian entry so far. It should have the second place after Denmark.
Timur Kushalioglu totally agree
+Timur Kuseli Elisabeth Andreassen - "I evighet" from 1996 is the best for me :)
I think it should've beaten Denmark.
She was one of the last countries to perform and she still managed go get people's attention, she literally woke te audience up. Amazing.

I guess this will always be my favourite song in Esc
I love that the Euphoria chord in the beginning (played before every song) harmonises with this song's intro perfectly :D
Oh and the dance!
It's 2022 and I still have no idea how this song didn't win...
Im danish but Norway should have won❤ This song is epic
one of the best eurovision songs ever

Very good song. (from JAPAN)
I really liked it. Performance synth and and it has a nordic feeling. Much better then the overproduced teardrops
I literally just found this song and I am shocked it wasn’t the winning entry.
