Fun fact about speaking to the Daedra at their shrines: if you go into third person while they are speaking, you can see your character's lips moving with the words, indicating that the Daedric Prince is actually possessing you and speaks through you to give you your task.
From a gameplay perspective it's just because they need an NPC to speak the lines and since the statues don't have one, they use your character instead :p
Another thing, it was mentioned last episode and bears repeating here as well: you are very close to losing silt strider access to (or more accurately from) Balmora. There is a bug that keeps shifting some NPCs around every time you talk to them, and you've almost talked the silt strider person enough to push them off the platform. When that happens, odds are they will die and be gone forever. The next time you're nearby, open the console and type “ra” (reset actors) to put him back where he belongs.

Congrats on the perfect level up! Three comments, 100% spoiler free: 1. You cannot apply potion effects to weapons in Morrowind which is weird, since so many alchemy ingredients make poison or paralysis or other damaging effects. You can only use potions on your character. 2. You need to talk with EVERYONE in a mage guildhall. I suspect there's something very important that you've missed (or perhaps forgotten) that the guild can offer you as a service. 3. You may be interested in the "mwse Alchemy Filter", which is a small mod that allows you to choose which type of potion effect you want to make and then filters out the ingredients you have to show you only the ones that are relevant. Don't forget about the Guild guides in the Mages Guild. Right next to Ajira. Fast travel to Vivec Sadrith Mora and other places, often easier than by silt strider

23:48 in context of Elder Scrolls that could mean any of the human races (Breton, Imperial, Nord, Redguard) rather than a gendered thing, since the races are collquially grouped as "Man, Mer and Beast". Either way, Aria should be fine lol.

36:40 you don't. Poison weapons like in Oblivion Skyrim does not exist in Morrowind. Potions like that are completely useless. In Morrowind poison is just another damage type for Destruction spells.
The thing about signs is you generally don't need to be in touch range to read them. This leads me to believe that all morrowind signs are tactile, either by coincidence or intention, and the protagonist has dyslexia or something. Almdyslexia?
TES3 construction set is limited to four travel destinations per npc. Maybe Tel Aruhn felt too insignificant to waste one of Sadrith Mora slots for it. There are no poisins without mods. Silence potion is useless in vanilla. Unless you talk to much, but thats whole point of being a streamer. East of Kogoruhn. But that dungeon is part of main quest you can find first...
38:55 yeah, this is one of the mayor downside of the journal and why the elder scrolls and bethesda in general abandoned the journal in favor of the quest marker system. the journal is just too unreliable to work properly in a game of this size. there are tons and tons and tons of example where the journal is unhelpful or flat out wrong, whether it is that it gives you the wrong direction for a quest location*, or, like in this case, doesn't properly note down everything important that was said. and this goes double, if it's a quest outside of the main story or the main guild/house quests. people like to pretend that bethesda abandoning the journal is all about dumbing down the game, or whatever, but it's simply that it isn't a good system and way, way, way too prone to errors to be sustainable in the longterm. (*you actually ran into one of those already. during your pilgrimage to the ghostfence in the temple questline, you're told you need to follow the road to the west of the gate to reach the shrine. except, that's a lie and the shrine is actually to the north east of the gate. you stumbled on it by accident, but it's still yet another example of the journal just not working as a proper guiding system.)
They could have simply be a little more careful when writing those entries and/or they could fix the few journal entries that had errors in them with a simple patch that would hardly take more than half an hour for the devs to make. Its not like throwing away the system they were using in favor of a new (arguably inferior) one was the *ONLY* possible alternative.
It's honestly crazy how fucking boring Bethesda's games have gotten in the past couple of generations, the visual design of Morrowind is an absolute treat I still like Oblivion but most of it is still just "A town" you know but it's colourful and pretty at least(if you ignore the NPC's) And then Skyrim is just generic medieval landscape, barely anything fantastical going on with any of the architecture outside of dungeons, so lame Magic and weirdness is just baked in to Morrowinds whole design and it's so cool

The reason its rare that anyone puts anything on your map is because once you know the name of the place you know what to ask for regarding telportation, ships or silk striders. It is, after all, right at the start strongly encourage to use one to get to balmora as well when you first land in morrowind.
I wish there was an early thread to the Mournhold antiquarian or curator or whoever they are, because I feel like Jon would really enjoy filling that out as a companion to the main quest.
Telvanni episode lessgooo
House Telvanni is the best! They actually teach you a lot of very useful spells! Hlaalu just throw some money at you, and Redoran doesn't give you anything....
He finally figured out how rest until heal works! :D
For better directions, consult the physical map of Vvardenfell that came with your Morrowind manual!
Pretty sure I've watched multiple playthrough that've ran for the better part of a decade each. I refuse to not like and comment.
Jon trying to speak with Molag Bal the second time reminded me a scene in Lexx. The crew got separated in the Oracle's complex and Stenly accidentally sees the memory of a one of petitioners to Oracle. She speaks to Stanley through the memory and tells him how to save his friends. Stanley gets up, takes two steps... forgets what she said and returns to the memory again. "I said second one to the left, you imbecile!" - she screams at Stenley.
Sload Soap one of those things when you learn about it you regret it.
Jon Jon Jon. You NEED the Twin Lamps Mod after the main quest play through. Mods make morrowind great again
Jon: I'm starting to understand how fast travel works. To prove it, I will use Silt Strider to Vivec rather than Mage Guild Teleport.
Audience: Facepalm
No that's not what happened because I actually enjoy myself when I watch his series instead of nitpicking
You can do your thing on your playthrough, let Jon do his thing on his playthrough.
Jon makes his official debut with Morrowind's madcap AnCap wizards; also: Arya-Aryon...it was destiny he'd join the Telvanni.
Your fast travel adventure was okay, you simply forgot that the Mage's Guild has teleport services to other guild halls.
Anyone wanna adress neloth ? Aka. Jons favorite dragonborne dlc character being alive and around through all these games ? Like he made such a fuss about neloth and the dwemmer ruines youd think just the name would ring a bell lol
You can use the boots of blinding speed all the time if you cast resist magic 100% on yourself for like 3 second. Then if you equip the boots the speed will remain but your not getting blind.
Also, there is a another grave in seyda neen. From the body of tax collector, go to northwest and when you can turn to shoutwest next of tree. There is cliffrazer guardin the door and there is multiple ghost and skeletons inside.
You can change the locatin of mark spell if you want, maybe next to your favourite vendor or traveling services if you want to save steps. Or maybe right next to altar in case of need of cure.
JON. The mouth of MASTER NELOTH?! I'm guessing it's the same guy you loved so much in the Dragonborn DLC in Skyrim?!
Where there's muck, there's money!
Sell the suff you don't need to Creeper in Caldera!
14:20 he put his hands up first so its not murder its self defense...
I am sure there are a lot of Historical figures that would have used the same explanation for their murders...
Jon! It might be worth your time to go back to the intended final resting place of Stormkiss and spread your wings a little. Tukushapal Tukuschmapal
I LOVE U JONNY, NEVER CHANGE. say GUNEEEEEEESIS all you want because God said to forgive the stupid along with the smart.
lol, knows "how to get around", but doesn't use the mageguild travel option
This is hardly the first MATN episode called 'The House Always Wins,' but it is one of the few not about New Vegas.
Mount Kand: Tip - DO NOT assume everyone you meet is hostile.........like I did.........several times........
30:10 Remember a few episodes Jon killed a Wisewoman bc he liked her head
Morrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrowind
I'm going to war against anyone in these comments that thinks Jon needs to play this game with a Wiki in hand making sure he checks every box and picks up every bit of loot THEY think matters that will satisfy THEM and thinks they'd genuinely have fun never letting him discover or explore or experience this game in a genuine way. Even if you got what you wanted then when he's collected every piece of trash you think he should pick up and did every quest the perfect wiki guide way what would he have left? What would his experience have been? A series of chores to satisfy people who are incapable of enjoying games.
get over yourself🙄
I mean.. yeah you right.
But Jon would like cool hats
100% i can play morrowind if i want to use my encyclopedic knowledge from decades of playing. The reason i watch a lets play is to see people experience something for the first time amd learn how deep and interactive the story and systems in this game are. (Or to watch people in kcd get beaten up by the town drunk)
@skinlesschickennugget2411 are you going to provide a counter argument against what I'm saying or just follow me around to say pointless conversation ending nonsense?
Gotta be honest, you caught on to the ancient and nearly forgotten ability of playing Morrowind prettt fast.
Kogorhun (I think that's how it's spelled). North-central Vvardenfell.
23:48 in context of Elder Scrolls that could mean any of the human races (Breton, Imperial, Nord, Redguard) rather than a gendered thing, since the races are collquially grouped as "Man, Mer and Beast". Either way, Aria should be fine lol.
it means "men" as in "males"
all the citizens in Tel Mora are women
more like sith lords haha
Ever thought about creating training spells to level up? Cheaper then paying for training
Pretty sure he would consider it kinda cheaty... At least trainers are a few clicks and done, and not several dozen. The chain casting would probably end up cut out and not fulfilling to him.
he says he likes it evil and with no rules. We'll see if he can step out of his goody two shoes...
update: nope.
Jon... Why are you carrying around a skooma pipe? Is everything okay at home?
36:40 you don't. Poison weapons like in Oblivion Skyrim does not exist in Morrowind. Potions like that are completely useless. In Morrowind poison is just another damage type for Destruction spells.
So the flame atronachs look more sexual the newer a game is, but the frost atronachs look less?
when are you going to make a charm on touch for 5 seconds spells? way cheaper then bribing everyone
Master Neloth? Any relation with your best buddy master from skyrim dragonborn?
✌
Jon dont do the Morag Tong questline first or you will kill important NPCs and screw yourself up!!!
i dont know why i just thought of it but it bugs me you say good afternoon when you upload at 10pm
Please talk to the woman in the room with Ajira about travel.... Please
Yea, joining Telvani is perfect, except maybe 100% not. ;)
Claire can we please have a hedgehog on the statue under bits. It's just alot first thing in the morning.
You're the best.
then why wouldnt you watch it another time or just skip🤷♀️
It's honestly crazy how fucking boring Bethesda's games have gotten in the past couple of generations, the visual design of Morrowind is an absolute treat
I still like Oblivion but most of it is still just "A town" you know but it's colourful and pretty at least(if you ignore the NPC's)
And then Skyrim is just generic medieval landscape, barely anything fantastical going on with any of the architecture outside of dungeons, so lame
Magic and weirdness is just baked in to Morrowinds whole design and it's so cool
Watching John give loads of money away pointlessly is a lot less frustrating in Eldar Scrolls than it is in Total War.
Never have i ever came so early
Day 326/1230 of requesting Jon play a game nobody will remember, like Majesty: A Fantasy Kingdom Sim.
The truth is.....the game was rigged from the start
Play the Witcher 3
Day 201 of requesting Jon play Okami HD.
If you didn't see, an Okami sequel was officially announced yesterday during The Game Awards!
Day 271 of requesting Age of Mythology. I forget - did Jon join the house where they clone their spouses? Jon may be self-confident, but I don't think he's that narcissistic. Also, blue people living in mushroom houses sounds familiar... are these the smurfs?
That is the house, though the cloning isn't a normal thing, even among Telvanni.
@@armedwombat6816 At least the weird libertarian smurfs really keep their word on the subject of "if you can get away with it, it's okay" if they're willing to go "Turbo-Mormon"
Sorry dude but no more statue taint....
