Just recently bought the Guv’nor used for a great price on Reverb. Used it on a few gigs. Sounds amazing through my fender hotrod deluxe III. Gives me that thick crunchy Marshall tone for the songs that need it
What a show!!! Love you guys and was so STOKED Nielsen was on!!! Love his playing , his demos and insight into products (and keeps it humorous!). I always want to hear the product how it will sound when I get it home. Very interesting discussion on mic‘ing cabs and using IRs going direct!!!! Marc love your homage to Jake E Lee axe! \w/
Been a huge fan of Philip Sayce since i heard his track "scars" on a free cd with classic rock magazine. That guy is a killer player. Amazing live. He has played with Jeff Healey and Melissa Etheridge's bands.
Nielsen is one of those brilliant guys who know plenty and can do even more, but next to nobody knows them. He kinda acts behind the curtains despite doing a really good youtube channel.
Just catching up on your old shows and hence discovered Philip Sayce when mentioned by Michael. The dude is mind-blowing for sure. Awesome find. I am gonna join you for virtual drinks one of these nights and give you a holler. Good work as always, boys!
I know I’m only a year late but that was the Amp Shop over by norms...it was there when it was Rick Benson and a partners before Full Price Gary bought it and combined it with bass exchange and moved to Sherman Oaks...
I did not like the Strymon Pedals either, but the Strymon Volante is one of the best Delays I have ever played, besides the Pigtronix Echolution 2 Ultra Pro!!
Surely im not the only one to comment on the irony of poor sound quality for industry experts....is internet signal really that poor in US? Great info thought and what a nice chap Michael is - I've just subbed to his GREAT channel
First I would like to say I love this show and it has provided me many hours of entertainment at work through my ear buds, so thank you very much. One thing to be aware of though, the heavy nose breathing going through Mark’s mic is loud a shit through headphones. Not trying to be a dick, just though you should know. Thanks again for the entertainment!
5149AND1HALF that’s funny and thanks for watching! I got a new mic and it was pretty close to my face. Sorry for the heavy breathing. Mike had me excited. 😆 I’ll try to be more mindful of that for the show. Thanks!!
Josh Freese is fantastic, but he didn't come into his own with A Perfect Circle- well before that, he put in an absolutely slamming performance on Dweezil Zappa's third record, 'Confessions.' Amazing, hard-hitting, yet intricate drumming that followed Dweezil's sometimes odd-metered fills like he was in Dweezil's head the whole time...
One of my FAV episodes thus far! One question I wish was asked...what is Michael’s opinion of the BE-50 Deluxe? Darn...should’ve tuned in “live” so I could’ve asked him myself! 🤷🏻♂️
I think Dave just needs to update the firmware of the dd500 and run it in a+b mode. They updated the firmware when the rv500 and md500 came out. The original software doesn’t have this mode.
Jake was at monsters of rock in donington England 84 with AC/DC van Halen ACCEPT MOTLEY CRUE Europe monsters of rock .not USA monsters of rock. That was in 88 with scorpions DOKKEN, METALLICA, kingdom come.
EV 12L 2:26:48 min weird (pickles and Oranges)? Michael and Dave- Jake E Lee did use EV 12L speakers with a Marshall JCM 800! watch this show called Tone-Talk (episode 43) th-cam.com/video/rtB9aOntuck/w-d-xo.html see 2:28:00 min on that show!
I use 12s and 13s -- elixir strings for my acoustics. The heavier the better. Palm and finger muting does the rest. Very little is up to the guitar. It's the playah, playah.
I love Chet Atkins, but he was never going to play like Guy. But he did something even greater, teaming up with Knopfler, giving Mark direction for his post-DS career. And we got Mark's solo work. Brilliant stuff. Local Hero, ffs. Wow.
Thanks for watching! Please hit subscribe and like!

This index is awesome, thanks so much!
Wow this is awesome
So stoked you guys had Michael on! The dude knows tone.
Loved the section about Up from the Ashes - one of my favourite albums from that era!
Yup!!! Billy white and John Norum had some of the best guitar solos on that album!
Dude! Same! That's one of my all time favorite albums! Perfect tones and production for that style of music.

Why am I just now seeing this channel!?!?! This was such a good show!

Thanks again for the cool show Michael Nielsen ask the best questions 🤘😎😊
Great show guys, I started watching it live here in England but it was so late and i've just finished the episode now.

Mark you have to listen to Alchemy by Philip Sayce. It’s like SRV playing Little Wing on steroids!!!!
I love this show. Wish you could get EVH or Wolfie on

Ha sorry Jim didn't notice your post!!
Who would give this a thumbs down???
giving thumbs down is 1 of the only ways to stop related vids from flooding your feed. its stupid but i believe thats why all videos have dislikes.
Vman my first amp was a Gorilla also with a car audio speaker in it lol. Great memories.
hell yea. had one for a minute.

Colin Nolan yep I believe you are right! Thanks
At some point, Dave would need to start a new podcast called “Flavor Talk” 😉
Turned off when beer was opened and mentioned. Have to keep clean 😊 later
Ok best of luck
the Guvnor is basically the father of all the Marshall in a box pedals that come out today
Can you guys get Eric Johnson on? He’s a true tone master.
a EL 84 tube sounds good but is hifi clean

Lukie knows that. It's Porcaro-Ville.
Guy Van Duser : Great Country Western Medley and HIS arrangement of Stars and Strives Forever. There is no finer.

Marc, You really missed a ton of opportunities to see Ed live. Sammy or no Sammy, Ed was on that stage!!!
True but I saw him live in 2007 and 2012 many times
Another vote for Marshall JCM 800 and EV 12L speakers from Niel Girardo and Tim Pierce 5:05 at th-cam.com/video/qkSciAD3v4E/w-d-xo.html
