Having just done this on my 06 Ranger, it's MUCH easier removing the bed, for full open access to the top of the gas tank. No underneath work needed. Remove the 3 screws of the filler neck, remove 6 attach bolts in the truck bed, and disconnect one connector going to the tail lights. Then either slide the bed back, or 2 people lift it completely off the frame. Full fuel pump access at top of tank. Very easy.
I've had two fuel pumps removed on rangers and both times the bed was removed they're six bolts on top to remove it and unplug an electric connection slide the bed back about a foot why this guy is removing the tank I have no idea I don't know any mechanic it does it that way

What a joke. Take the bed off. Whats with the jacking it up and taking straps off. Nobody does that on a Ranger.
