Hi Kevin,
Thank you for the shout out, it's very kind of you.
I love the tool post grinder...I am sure that you will put it to good use. It would be good to see a video showing the making of the guards for it.
Thanks again and take care
Paul,,
Hi Paul, thanks for watching.
Gday Kevin, hopefully you receive my stickers soon, the collet track is great, the laser cutter does a really neat job, the tool post grinder was a good score, take care mate, Cheers Matty
Hi Matty, I'll let you know when stickers arrive. Thanks for watching
MachineNZ no worries, I sent them a couple of weeks ago
Thank you for the shout out. I always enjoy your videos.
No worries Steve. Thanks for watching. Regards Kevin
I would really love a tool post grinder, difficult to find one at a reasonable price, so well done, looks like it won't take allot to get it up and running.
Hi Nigel, yes it was a good find. Shouldn't take to much effort to knock up some guards...
Hey Kevin, I spotted a grinder similar to yours on an auction site, a few months ago, sadly it was removed before I could bid. Be a handy thing to have, we’ll done on finding one. Thanks for the shout out. Glenn
Hi Glenn, Thanks for watching.
collet racks look awesome
Thanks Emma...
I made my guard from an old fire extinguisher , cut the neck off & had the perfect dished shape .
Hi Max. That's a good idea
nice laser work mate!
Hi JB, thanks for watching. Yes the lasers a great tool to have
hey NZ, nice tool post grinder. The shaper, you probably were chipping the inserts and was work hardening the tool holders running them like that. Ive used HSS tooling on the shaper to machine down insert holders that are much harder than an endmill would handle, mainly due to the low SFPM allowing for much harder stuff to be cut. I was thinking that the fact that inserts really arent that sharp (they have radiused edges due to how they're made), that it might have been rubbing on as small of cuts as you were taking and actually work hardening the work even more.
Hi Chirpy. Thanks for the info, that makes sense. Regards Kev
Hi Kevin, interesting video. The collet rack turned out excellent. Looks like a bought unit.
The TPG will be useful, but there is a learning curve with them. Dumore (which are similar) have a trouble shooting page which you will find useful: www.dumoretools.com/tool-post-grinders/trouble-shooting
There is a lot of BS on forums about TPG's so pay little attention to any of it, as it's unlikely to be true ;)
Cheers Rob
Hi Rob, thanks for watching and the link to the Dumore page. Will check it out. Regards Kevin
